Known Bugs:

  • Sometimes arrested peds will leave the backseat of your vehicle and try to drive away. No known fix but to grab them and put them back in the vehicle. Probably a plugin interaction.
    • Have not had happen to me in a while, please report for v2.2.1 if you encounter. Possibly fixed


Installation:

  1. Copy the "Plugins" folder to your main GTA V directory.
  2. Pick an XML to use depending on what search plugin you have for added realism! (not required)
  3. Enjoy!

@Phaxol Have you ever thought about doing a computer menu like the one in Patrol Toolkit? I mean with realistic offences and violations and all those things.

 

I would also suggest some other things if you want

I could probably make some work around for it to make this possible, will add to my list of things to do. Right now you should be able to create multiple arrest reports with the same charge, but I agree its not efficient.

If you're talking about the charge names, they are customizable .XML files that come with the plugin that can be changed to your liking. There are a couple of customized XML files already on the site if you want to test them out:

The Old Man and the Sea is the story of a fight between an elderly, accomplished fisherman, Santiago, and a really big fish. Like… HUGE. The story opens with Santiago suffering eighty-four days without catching a fish because he’s the unluckiest son-of-a-bitch on planet earth. Honestly, if you were in a boat for eighty-four days, it’d be hard to NOT catch a fish… even by accident. Santiago was so unlucky that his apprentice, Manolin, was forbidden by his Ma and Pa to fish with him. But as The Fresh Prince used to say, ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand’. So the boy visits Santiago’s shack anyway.

Ignoring the inherent risks of unsupervised playtime with an elderly man who talks to himself, Manolin helps out, moving Santiago’s fishing gear, making food and talking about baseball. Especially Joe DiMaggio; who used to bump fuzzies with Marilyn Monroe. The next day, Santiago tells Manolin that he’s going way out into the Gulf Stream. WAY OUT north of Cuba. Lady luck is returning!

On the eighty-fifth day of his crappy luck, Santiago drops his lines, and by noon, gets a bite from what feels like a big ass fish. He’s sure it’s a winner. He fights and fights and fights but can’t pull the monster in. Santiago’s leaky old boat is pulled by the fish for two days and nights as he holds on for dear life. Even though he’s bloody and beat, Santiago begins to appreciate this mighty adversary. He starts calling him “brother” or maybe even, “bro.” It’s sort of a love story if you really think about it. And like most romantic comedies, the reader pictures a delightful outfit changing montage, followed by the inevitable interspecies wedding.

But on the third day, Santiago is freakin’ EXHAUSTED, and decides he just wants the fish to do what he says and not always swim wherever it wants. So he stabs it. With a f*cking harpoon. It’s a mess. Super gross. Blood everywhere. Because, like many men his age, Santiago has difficulty expressing his emotions and fears with words - instead giving in to base desires - and imposing his gigantically terrible positions on any given subject through unblinking violence. Typical.

Anyway, he straps the marlin to the side of his skiff and hits the road home, ready to act like a total show off to everyone and probably gouge people on the price. But guess what? Pretty soon sharks begin to attack the bleeding marlin’s carcass, because we all know, life is a tragic opera and just when you think you’ve finally found something good and true, sharks come along and rip it all to f*cking shreds while dry-humping your dignity with their crazy-weird shark dicks. Sure, Santiago tries killing a few of them, but drops his harpoon because his hands are just as old as he is. By nighttime, the sharks have pretty much eaten the entire marlin.

Only a bleach-white skeleton remains, silently mocking him in the murky darkness. Santiago realizes he’s still unlucky. REALLY unlucky. (Duh!) He calls the sharks “dream killers”. Which isn’t really all that fair. I mean, the sharks were just doing their job and the marlin… Jesus, don’t even get me started on the marlin! It was just hanging out one day, minding it’s own business, maybe thinking about ways it could be a better provider for it’s family and WHAM! Harpoon in the brain. Who’s the “dream killer” now, f*ckface? The hypocrisy is pretty much boundless at this point.

Eventually Santiago makes it ashore. Leaving the bones of the marlin and the boat, he hobbles to his shack. He makes it home and crashes, like I said - he’s super tired. The next morning a group of fishermen gather around Santiago’s boat. One measures the skeleton and, holy shit-shingles! It’s over 18 feet! The head of the fish is given to Pedrico (strange that this is the first mention of him) and the other fishermen ask Manolin to send their glad tidings to the old man.

Manolin brings Santiago newspapers and coffee when he wakes and they decide to fish together again. Many years later, there’s a Red Lobster Restaurant in nearly every city in America, offering a casual dining experience and convenient parking

I may update the wording of my own charges mod to reflect actual charges (i.e "Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol" as opposed to "Simple DUI", however this will depend on UI space, further testing and whether of not these changes fit into the lore-friendly theme of my mod. The difference between lucianboi's mod and mine is efficiency. Where lucianboi's mod gives you more charges than mine, many of them will never be used. Every charge in my mod is usable in-game either via default LSPDFR scenarios or via callout packs.

i agree with everything @LostBoyLazarus said.its doable to make the charges and citations more realistic, but due to the text box it wont matter if its unreadable.i have many charges currently which stretches past the menu in interaction+ and also comp+ although not too bad as i have had to change the wording of many to make them less long.

I have an idea, I can add a menu offset variable to each XML file that will give the user customizable chrage/citation menu lengths so your custom text can fit. This will also help in the next version where the headings of each charge section will hopefully be customizable

I was going to suggest the possibility of scrolling text but it feels complicated to build and make work. I can get by with the current format myself, however if you are able to get around the UI text box size, I'm sure that my friendly neighborhood rival @lucianboi will be able to crank out a really good update to reflect these realistic charge details that people want 👍

Possible feature for another update:

 

License suspension/revocation for certain offenses, such as DUI, evading, driving without insurance, exceeding x points, etc.

mine is doing this also, lspdfr will not load now, crashes every time on start up. I took it out and now its fine. I have STP also. I installed everything correctly but I had to take it out. will try again tomorrow.

Hey @Phaxol, I finally got another crash. Had been playing fine for about an hour when my vehicle was hit from the rear. I pulled the car over and spoke to the driver. I obtained his ID and asked him to step out. Using STP, I asked him to follow me to the sidewalk. I then opened Interaction+ while the plan of conducting a roadside test (I had detected alcohol and narcotics) when LSPDFR crashed.

 

I've attached a screenshot of the console at the time of the crash and have extracted the necessary log info. Cheers.

Playing again this afternoon and received a call for street racing. Attended scene and caught one of the racers. Finished processing him and filed charges as normal. The old issue is back: After creating an arrest report, nothing happens and I'm unable to access any Interaction+ features without a complete game restart. Everything else works as normal, just not Interaction+. I checked the console/logs but there was nothing at all.

Following on from edit 1 above, I restarted the game and dealt with one callout just fine. The second callout however gave me more issues. Two female suspects. One released, one charged. I couldn't remember who was who so ran a record check on the female who I thought I wanted to charge. Interaction+ just stopped working again. Not able to access any of the features. Looking at the console, it appears I tried to check the wrong female, but rather then be informed of this or something, it simple stopped working. Having to restart again just to get things rolling.

If it is crashing on start up usually means you have something installed wrong, if you send me the log file I can probably tell you what's happening

That first crash is very odd, I have added error handling to that function but that crash is probably rare. 

 

As for the second issue, does this happen often? The reason it was doing it before was because the ped headshot cache was filled so my plugin failed to create one and stopped working, but there may be some cases in which the deletion isn't taking place and the headshots slowly fill up the cache over time. The third issue is also likely due to this as running a records check generates a headshot. The ped headshot cache limit is 35 images, is it possible that you could have generated that number in your second play through? I will have to add more aggressive deletion of these and I can probably fix the issue

I experienced the crash and have added measures to prevent it, I am going to play test it and make sure its gone before release

Not often, but it happens more than I'd like it to - restarting the game takes forever lol. I remember you telling me about the whole headshot thing and the difficulties it entailed before. It may just be one of those things. Heck, this still crashes less than when I used to mod Skyrim 😂

No, I was nowhere near 35. I can't recall what the first call was now but it couldn't have been more than two people involved. This happened on the very next call. I'm assuming its caused by Interaction+ trying to create info on a ped who is no longer there? The last few days its been great, but then I have been shooting my way out of things more.

 

I'll pretend I know nothing about any of that news and simply say: I CANNOT WAIT! FOR THESE UPDATES!

can this be used at all or something similar to this for stopping random peds on the road its awesome love this mod but would like something similar or same one to be intergrated for use with random ped stops

It is best used along with StopThePed, but with the proper .ini settings increasing the dismissal time it can be used by itself to stop and identify peds. Simply open the interaction menu near peds and they will be stopped
