Dispatch Checkup Script 1.3.0

(22 reviews)

1 Screenshot

Hello LSPDFR community!

Today I'm presenting a small little plugin I created to make your policing career just a little more realistic.

This plugin replicates the "Checkups" performed by dispatchers when officers are in dangerous situations.

Whenever you start a callout or a traffic stop, dispatch will start periodically checking your status. If you feel safe, you can tell dispatch to cancel checkups, and they'll stop bugging you till your next callout.

You can also ask dispatch to send you backup, or, if you're in major trouble, you can scream "Send help!". This will send in the cavalry, with an impressive response of officers closing in, complete with custom "responding" audio.

If, for some reason, you've become incapacitated, or cannot respond (or maybe you just turned your volume down...), Dispatch will try several times to contact you. When unsuccessful, they'll call in a slightly smaller set of cavalry than the "send help" request.

All of these times and responses are configurable, as is your callsign and name.

Planned integration with CustomBackup and the upcoming Police SmartRadio modification as well!

@JKaufman Awesome thanks  But now even though I changed my trainer Menu, it still opens with only F3

You can now change the key to open the menu via the .ini file. His comment was about a prior version (where you couldn't do that)

@ThisIsntMyName - I can probably add that as a configurable feature. I've set it up like that because that's how my local area police do things (all plain words, the only "codes" I've heard are Code 2/3 and Code 99), but it shouldn't be too hard to make it configurable.

2 questions about this mod (mostly the making of it)

What language of code have you used to create it (C++, C#, etc.)

And if you used C# how do you implement the ini in your code so that you can edit the controls of the plugin

I think the check is happening way too fast, and it happens to much. But i like to quick backup shortcuts

You can change check delays in the checkup.ini configuration file (I've set 90 seconds as initial delay and 30 seconds for no response delay).

If you're searching for a simple "panic button" there's this plugin by AlconH (or you could just set delay time to hours so dispatch checkup never triggers)

Nice idea, but while it worked at first, it no longer recognizes my response choices.

So, this mod isn't working and I should wait for update to install?

It should still work fine - works on my install. I haven't updated to latest yet, but nothing I use has changed so it should still work...

Great mod!! The only issue I have run into is when I change the check-up phrases the mod no longer will recognize my response in game. I think a few other people are having the same issue.

I think that's what caused issues I had earlier (along with installing it wrong, but I solved that).

Is it possible to have Custom Backup API support for units spawned by this script?

Yeah, I'm looking into that being an issue now - I don't use the phrases feature, so I wouldn't know if it's broken.

Custom Backup API support is actually already there - if CustomBackup is installed, it will call for Code 3 backup via that rather than LSPDFR :)

I saw the Police SmartRadio support, but never noticed the Custom Backup, my bad.

Speaking of PSR support, can you make it so that LSPDFR and Custom Backup menu use do the same thing, if possible and not already done (I don't think I noticed those menus delaying checks like PSR)?

As far as I know, the API required doesn't currently exist..... but I just asked Parks to add one :)

As far as the other issue - I can't reproduce it. Mind sending me the config and the log when you've got custom phrases?

This is highly glorious, but can you make it pause while we are in Computer+, since it's impossible to respond from in there?

When will this be integrated with smart radio? Great simple mod btw!

Is there going to be an update to make sure it works with LSPDFR 4.4 update before I download and try it?

It dosen't work on my end. Simply crashes LSPDFR on my end. I wish this could be updated to work with UB

Unfortunately, the author have abandoned it. It was such a great mod. Hopefully someone can make a similar and improvement one.

Can you make an update for the current LSPDFR version? It would be too much cool.
