After a long wait, I am proud to finally release my LSPD Pack with ELS Style Lighting! This pack now includes a total of 7 Vehicles:

police - 2016 Chevrolet Impala Limited
police2 - 2015 Dodge Charger PPV
police3 - 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Utility
police4 - 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan
police5 - 2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility
police6 - 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV K-9 Unit (slicktop)
police7 - 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Demonstration video:

These vehicles have been under development for several months and are fine-tuned and should be relatively bug-free (knock on wood). The installation package will modify your vehicles.meta to allow multiple liveries for all vehicles as well as changing the handling line for the police and police3 slots. This can be easily undone using the Uninstaller package included in the download. All vehicles feature HD 4k skins made by @TrentMU and possess a variety of extras, including:

Setina Rambars
Stalker Radar Units
Panasonic Arbitrator Dashcams
Prisoner Partitions
Passenger-side Spotlights

Installation Instructions

Launch OpenIV and select Grand Theft Auto V.
Click Tools -> Package Installer.
Select "LSPD Pack Installer 1.0.0.oiv."
Click install and choose whether to install to your mods folder (highly recommended) or directly into your game (not advised).
Launch GTA V and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: The package installer fails partway through. How can I fix this?

A: The package installer modifies your vehicles.meta to change just a few lines so that the vehicles will be multi-livery enabled and handle correctly. If you are having problems installing the package, please install a clean vehicles.meta into mods/update/update.rpf/common/data/ and then try again. A clean vehicles.meta can be found HERE. Alternatively, you can run the uninstaller package included in the download prior to reinstalling the package.

Q: My package installed successfully but my game is crashing while loading. How can I fix this?

A: If you experience crashing while loading, you probably don't have a gameconfig.xml configured to allow add-on cars. There are a few different gameconfigs which different people are reporting as working. You can find a gameconfig.xml to fix your crashing problem HERE, or if that doesn't work, HERE.

Q: I've installed the package but my lights do not seem to be working. They are showing up in the wrong places or not flashing correctly, why?

A: This mod uses a custom carvariations.meta to assign custom sirensettings to each vehicle included. If the lights are not working correctly, another mod you have installed is causing a conflict with this carvariations.meta. Please check all installed mods for a carvariations.meta file (it will be located in common/data/ within a DLC folder). If you have another carvariations which assigns a sirensetting to police, police2, police3, police4, police5, or police6, delete those vehicle entries from it and see if the issue is resolved.

Q: I've installed the package and my vehicles are working in game, but the lights are not bright like they are in the screenshots. How can I fix this?

A: You will need to install a light-enhancing graphics mod as well as set your Post FX and Shader settings to High. I would recommend installing Radiance V.

Patches don't break vehicle mods. You probably just need to put a gameconfig.xml back in. I recommend the following (1x traffic 1x peds gta 5 base folder):

okay, check dlclist.xml in update.rpf\common\data then.

most likely you need to re-add the dlcpack.

well reinstalled the cars and now I crash on startup with the new gameconfig.xml

Spawn them through a Trainer like Simple Native TrainerV.

I finally got it to work. The gameconfig you sent me works better then the first one listed in the packs info section. Thanks for the help.

Everytime I install it corrupts my game files and I have to revert to backup... even if I uninstall. Anyone know anything about that?

ya but the only thing was I had to replace my update folder and install all the mods again for it to work with the new game config.

I love all of these packs, LSPD, Sheriff, and FBI. I used to do a bit of modding and skinning in past games and know how taxing it can be.

My only question is this: is there anyway to get the later vehicles (4-7) to spawn dynamically in the game? The ones that fill the base slots appear, but the later ones only spawn via a trainer.

You'd have to edit dispatch.meta, backup.xml, popgroups.ymt, etc.

Well backup.xml is just an LSPDFR file for when you call for backup, that'd probably be easiest to start with. Otherwise, search for dispatch mods (here's one: https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/better-wanted-level-system-police-spawning) and mods that edit popgroups.ymt and popcycle.dat like Cops Back on the Beat (google it) and probably some others.

I've updated my gameconfig and it is still crashing in the loading screen. I have uninstalled the pack and the game works,but when i install this, it crashes every time.

Nevermind got it to work with that different gameconfig file.

Hey!

Quick couple of questions. Went throught the installer, and installed everything. Everything went well, but my question is would there be a way to override these main police1-police7 files and turn them into sheriff ones so they could replace my current sheriff files? The models for the vehicles are great, thats why i was wondering If there was any way I could change for example the police.ytd to sheriff.ytd, then add in a custom texture for the sherrifs pack?

do you kind of understand what I mean?

i took and duplicated the lspdpack dlc that it installed and reword anything that said police to sheriff and same for hway it gave me 7 police, 7 sheriff and 7 hway and added textures that was compatible. its a lot of work but it can be done to allow you to use them in multiple departments. i had to also go in and add for example sheriffpack to the dlc list and same for hway or what ever i named the rpf file

@Captain14i know your vehicle packs say els style lighting but are they compatible with ELS by Lt. Caine? Thanks again for great car packs.

I was also seeing this crashing after the latest GTA patch, but the second gameconfig.xml suggestion worked:

So I did a fresh install of GTA V and this is the only vehicle mod I have installed and the lights are all off and look terrible. Is it possible that the install was bad even though it was done through OpenIV package installer? Or could it still be something in the carvariations.meta file even though this is the only vehicle mod that I have?
