Realistic ALPR/ANPR System 0.3a

(29 reviews)

4 Screenshots

NOTICE

This plugin bases vehicle registration off of LSPDFR's database.  The STOCK police computer will return the CORRECT registered owner.  Police Radio and Rage Computer base their registered owner off of the driver of the vehicle and WILL NOT (consistently) return the correct registered owner. (Police Radio sometimes changes the owners name it displays for its random events).  I will continue to utilize the method of retrieving the owner information that is consistent with LSPDFR in its stock configuration.

Description

An ALPR/ANPR system that is created to simulate the realism found in its real life counterparts.  With this realism you must operate the ALPR/ANPR system in a realistic manner, from sitting on the side of the highway to doing sweeps through a parking garage.  Run around with the system turned on while doing your regular patrols or stake out on the side of the road looking for stolen vehicles.  This mod with not blip or mark the vehicle that creates the alert, you must locate based on the License Plate, Model, and the Camera that generated the alert.

any chance in the future that we will be able to set individual camera distances in the .ini? I changed mine up a bit to have two side cameras, a rear and a forward facing but the issue i am running into is since the pivot point is near the rear of the vehicle the camera pointing directly forwards range is not far enough so I have to almost rear end the car in front to get a reading and the one pointing backwards is looking too far back, it reads plates on cars 3-4 car lengths behind me.

Technically at the moment, (in the game) the cameras are positioned in the middle of the vehicle.  I will look at putting in individual settings (FOV and Range).

ah gotcha, that's probably the easiest way to code it. I just figured from the screenshots that they were offset to the rear of the vehicle. if there was a way in the game to open a UI to change the fov/range settings that would be amazing. often times i find myself staked out in the middle partition of a highway and I only really want one camera activated, during a roaming patrol however having all four active is nice so being able to change that on the fly ingame without having to back out to edit an ini would be a very nice touch. maybe that's a 0.9 feature though ;P

I'm planning on that currently for the implementation of a GUI once I get the core of the mod finished and stable.

Not working at all, you get a message right at startup that something is wrong with wanted lvl precents, if you still continue with the game it just freezes and hard reboot is needed.

I started up again with the first version of the mod and it works just fine.

But very nice mod and I hope you sort out the problems.

Sorry for the bad english but not my native language

Friends of LSPDFR

I haven't had a chance to try this out, but I've seen a video of it in action, and it looks amazing!

Great job! I can't wait to try it for myself!!

I have not been able to reproduce the crash.  Are you using any mods that provide additional callouts?

That means there is an issue in the INI file, double check that the percentages only contain number.

You're asking the wrong guy, he and I aren't getting any crashes... and we both use an extensive amount of additional callouts.

No, that means that your plugin have a problem ;)
I have the same problem, I use the .INI provided with your plugin. No modifications.

Looks great, but unfortunately LSPDFR crashes when I start the game. I'm currently using LSPDFR 0,2 isn't compatible with it?

Just a quick video I chucked together for people who didn't understand what they were looking for or if it was working or not.

Spoiler

Got incredibly lucky, I literally just put my traffic gear on, parked up and hit record.

LOL Ash.... would have been a toss up there for me... keep on the hit for the ALPR, or pull over that really bad bus driver.

Only for 0.3+ since if uses the new API functions that are only in the new version,

I can not currently endorse utilizing the latest update at the current time as very few people have been able to download the new version of RPH (including me).  Once Im able to download and test with the new update I will give you an update on what I find ASAP.

I'm also having the issue. Maybe this has something to do with the computer locale or something?
I'm using the default INI file.

Let me check on that. Whats your locale?

France ;)

However StolenPercent is working and also have the same formatting, so I don't know :s

I will add that it doesn't do any particular "bad" thing. It's just that a message is displayed at startup saying that the percentage doesn't correspond to a number (and therefore I have no ANPR hit on warrants). Not the end of the world, but still annoying. :)

Yeah, its programmed to do a sanity check on the INI values and if it fails the check it defaults to the default values.
