With life or not, there's no need to rush work like that.

Level of detail. When a model in a game reaches a certain distance, it changes in quality. Up close, a model's polygon count may be 60k polygons. From maybe 100m away, it'll be 30k polygons and so forth. This reduces the game's load and keeps performance running smoothly. A lot of the models on this site don't have proper LODs, making them quite poor in performance if you use a lot.

Open the model "battalion.yft". On the right hand side, there's text that says "Level of Detail". You can click through and see all available LODs. If there are no LODs, it won't change from L0.

Thanks for explaining this bud!!! Yea i have downloaded some very nice models only to have to replace them due to either the whole car or parts of it disappearing in the distance....

it says in the File information section its Non-ELS i always look at that to determine how to use it. when i play the LSPDFR mod i use ELS if im using it on my Five RP server i most likely will go with a Non-ELS becuase ELS server side on Five RP is a bit wonky and doesnt always work right.
