Update 11/5/16: 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan has been added!

Previous users: The new FPIS has taken the police4 slot and the CVPI has been moved to police7. MAKE SURE YOU RUN THE UNINSTALLER PRIOR TO INSTALLING THIS UPDATE!

After a long wait, I am proud to finally release my LSPD Pack with ELS Style Lighting! This pack now includes a total of 7 Vehicles:

  • police - 2016 Chevrolet Impala Limited
  • police2 - 2015 Dodge Charger PPV
  • police3 - 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Utility
  • police4 - 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan
  • police5 - 2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility
  • police6 - 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV K-9 Unit (slicktop)
  • police7 - 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Demonstration video:

These vehicles have been under development for several months and are fine-tuned and should be relatively bug-free (knock on wood). The installation package will modify your vehicles.meta to allow multiple liveries for all vehicles as well as changing the handling line for the police and police3 slots. This can be easily undone using the Uninstaller package included in the download. All vehicles feature HD 4k skins made by @TrentMU and possess a variety of extras, including:

  • Setina Rambars
  • Stalker Radar Units
  • Panasonic Arbitrator Dashcams
  • Prisoner Partitions
  • Passenger-side Spotlights

Installation Instructions

  1. Launch OpenIV and select Grand Theft Auto V.
  2. Click Tools -> Package Installer.
  3. Select "LSPD Pack Installer 1.0.0.oiv."
  4. Click install and choose whether to install to your mods folder (highly recommended) or directly into your game (not advised).
  5. Launch GTA V and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: The package installer fails partway through. How can I fix this?

A: The package installer modifies your vehicles.meta to change just a few lines so that the vehicles will be multi-livery enabled and handle correctly. If you are having problems installing the package, please install a clean vehicles.meta into mods/update/update.rpf/common/data/ and then try again. A clean vehicles.meta can be found HERE. Alternatively, you can run the uninstaller package included in the download prior to reinstalling the package.

Q: My package installed successfully but my game is crashing while loading. How can I fix this?

A: If you experience crashing while loading, you probably don't have a gameconfig.xml configured to allow add-on cars. There are a few different gameconfigs which different people are reporting as working. You can find a gameconfig.xml to fix your crashing problem HERE, or if that doesn't work, HERE.

Q: I've installed the package but my lights do not seem to be working. They are showing up in the wrong places or not flashing correctly, why?

A: This mod uses a custom carvariations.meta to assign custom sirensettings to each vehicle included. If the lights are not working correctly, another mod you have installed is causing a conflict with this carvariations.meta. Please check all installed mods for a carvariations.meta file (it will be located in common/data/ within a DLC folder). If you have another carvariations which assigns a sirensetting to police, police2, police3, police4, police5, or police6, delete those vehicle entries from it and see if the issue is resolved.

Q: I've installed the package and my vehicles are working in game, but the lights are not bright like they are in the screenshots. How can I fix this?

A: You will need to install a light-enhancing graphics mod as well as set your Post FX and Shader settings to High. I would recommend installing Radiance V.

Q: I like this pack! Where can I find more vehicles like it?

A: Be sure to check out my Sheriff and FIB Replacement Pack here:

This pack is provided as-is with no form of warranty. These files are not to be modified, redistributed, ripped, or otherwise exploited in any way, shape, or form. Yes but it needs more chevy...

You know the expensive as fuck made in Australia car that doesn't melt when exposed to extended periods of heat and moisture and has no sound deadening :D

@Captain14

This already was an amazing pack and the new FPIS makes it that much better. I only have one small question.  In my game(unsure if everyones or not) the wheels on the Charger look like they have an almost purplish hue to them. Is there an easy change to make them all black like the other models in the pack or is this something that could possibly be looked into in a future update?

@Captain14 Love the pack man been using it every since relases. Only one small problem with the new car you added. The dirt texture is a little messed up.

Are the vehicles addons? (Spawn them by typing name in trainer) or do they replace all the normal police cars? I don't want to lose all the cars i already have.

You should make another pack with all these cars too but skip the police4 slot so that we can still put a highway patrol or state in and also make a caprice, and the police slots would go up to police8 and police9 but skipping 4

1. What update version are you using?

2. Do you have your update.rpf inside your mods folder?

@Captain14 I'd like to suggest that you change the naming order, to keep things more consistent with what the default in-game vehicles are.

  • Move the crown vic to police
  • Move either the taurus or impala to police3
  • Make an unmarked car and put it in police4, or else don't overwrite police4

The last one is particularly important, because scripts sometimes assume police4 will be an unmarked vehicle. You don't expect to have a marked car show up. All the vehicles you have are awesome, would just like to not have to mess around renaming files and meta lines every time I update it!

Hi Captain14!!!

First thing, THANK YOU for the three awesome packs you did!

Well, it might be unusual, but I have a technical question for you :-)

I'm trying to do the same thing as you did with police cars, but with standard cars.

I want to do a DLC pack which will replace every single vehicle in game.

I already have what it takes, and already succeeded in spawning a new model instead of a standard one (ninef2 is the car I'm working on to do all my preliminaries tests)

What I can't figure out though, is why the damn game is still loading Vehicle.meta from update.rpf/common/data, and NOT mine from my dlc pack, although it has been correctly defined in Content.xml, with the Overlay attribute set to TRUE.

I think you ran into the same problem, because your LSPDPACK renames POLICE, POLICE3, and POLICE4 in the original Vehicles.meta.

But why did you not have to do it also for POLICE2, and in your 2 other packs (Sheriff and FBI)?

The same goes for Carvariations, and Carcols... how can I be sure that mines will be used instead of standard ones (those in update.rpf/common/data) as I HAVE TO use the SAME name as the standard ingame models?

Thanks in advance for your reading, and your answer ;-)

Ok, I got wrong for the POLICE2, which simply uses native Vehicles.meta, but the question stands for SHERIFF for example, which is redefined in YOUR Vehicles.meta file :)

In short:

Why do the game use your Vehicles.meta file, and not the native Vehicles.meta for SHERIFF?

And why do the game use the native Vehicles.meta file for POLICE, POLICE3, POLICE4? (that's what is causing you to you to modifiy <modelName> and <txdName> tags in native Vehicles.meta, in order to force the game to find informations regarding those models in YOUR Vehicles.meta -> allright, I already got that )

And, most important -> How can I know the models for which the game will always try to find information about in the native Vehicles.meta? (Try and see?  if so, that will be a looooong journey to replace 160 vehicles...)

Any chance to have a installation method to add each vehicle separate? Models look great but I don't want to install the entire pack. Would be nice if this was implemented.

I 2nd this!  I love how easy it is to install everything, but would like to be able to install cars and handling lines individually.

I have a problem. When I installed the pack, all the cars were in it and everything was okay. When I gave my self 2 stars to see the police cars chasing me, they were all the same car. They were in the 2013 FPIU or the 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Utility. If anyone can help me that would be awesome. Thanks!
