Information

Ped Search allows you to go up to a ped and press the search key (default: 'G' / 'DPadLeft') to frisk them for any illegal items. It works pretty much exactly as Vehicle Search does, and the ini file is set up in the same way.

Installation and Usage

You need the Rage Plugin Hook for this to work. The newest version has been tested with Rage Plugin Hook version 0.34.862.6641 ONLY and may not work with older versions.

When you have that installed, drop both the .dll and the .ini into your Plugins folder. Once you're in-game, press F4 to bring up the Rage Hook console, and type 'LoadPlugin PedSearch.dll' (without the apostrophes). After that, simply press the search key (default 'G' / 'LeftDPad') when near a pedestrian to frisk them.

Configuration

In the included .ini file, you can edit things such as the button/key mapping, what items you can find, and the odds of finding an item. For more advanced users, you can change the animation your character uses as he searches.

Planned Features

Better animation. Want to suggest one?
Ability to find a weapon if the ped actually has one and remove it. Working on it.

Please, give me any bug or crash reports. I'll try my best to fix them.

Weird. I updated ragehook, but the mod still does not work. It is normally loaded, no crash, just press the hot key nothing happens. I'll try later. But just in case check language support ( as it was with the Vehicle Search)

The range you have to get within is pretty small, so you might not have been close enough.

Other than that, I don't really know -- I'll look over the code again and check to see if something might be causing the problem.

Hello again. I found the problem in the modification. If you change the hotkey in .ini file, it just doesn't work. Only works with standard key "G". I got a standard key and it worked.

coming up as a virus /blocked file and i never once had that happen ever in 3 years of using this site never mind i guess firefox did some bs

Have not played with this yet. Will come back and review later. With that being said. Can I do a LoadPlugin "PedSearch.dll" in the startup.rphs so I don't have to type it in each time for it to load?

Yep, you can do that with almost any plugin.

Am thinking why LSPDFR people add this feature in the first place unless they didnt know about it? well anyways nice mod though.

I don't know why it'd be coming up as a virus -- the only thing I could think of is that it reads the ini file but that doesn't seem like it would trigger that. It's a false alarm, whatever it is. Here's a virustotal. It says everything's clean (which is weird if it's triggering your anti-virus). I'll see if I can't figure out why it's doing that.

I was a rebel and installed it anyway =) hehe. no problem with it what so ever =) animations could be better though. I leave thet up to those who can change them. Nice mod as allways. CHEERS!

Thanks! There are a billion animations, and finding the right one when the name's not related is a pain. I'll certainly try and find a better one though.

@FtDLulz I think I might of found a better animation for you to use... unfortunately im not sure how I'd go about helping you find it but if you look here https://youtu.be/o4_BLPX-kSw?t=40 there is an alien that does his mind control move on Micheal and I figure if you could model swap that to a cop that would be a pretty suitable animation

If that ending part where the alien grabs his head isn't in that specific animation then it might work better. Thanks! I'll try it out sometime today when I'm not busy.
