Information

Ped Search allows you to go up to a ped and press the search key (default: 'G' / 'DPadLeft') to frisk them for any illegal items. It works pretty much exactly as Vehicle Search does, and the ini file is set up in the same way.

Installation and Usage

You need the Rage Plugin Hook for this to work. The newest version has been tested with Rage Plugin Hook version 0.34.862.6641 ONLY and may not work with older versions.

When you have that installed, drop both the .dll and the .ini into your Plugins folder. Once you're in-game, press F4 to bring up the Rage Hook console, and type 'LoadPlugin PedSearch.dll' (without the apostrophes). After that, simply press the search key (default 'G' / 'LeftDPad') when near a pedestrian to frisk them.

Configuration

In the included .ini file, you can edit things such as the button/key mapping, what items you can find, and the odds of finding an item. For more advanced users, you can change the animation your character uses as he searches.

Planned Features

Better animation. Want to suggest one?
Ability to find a weapon if the ped actually has one and remove it. Working on it.

Please, give me any bug or crash reports. I'll try my best to fix them.

Will this update and your other updates work on ragehook v20 still? I ask that because Finkone has not updated his police radio mod to work with the newer version of ragehook. He hasn't said when he plans on doing so, but his updated radio mod only works in v20 of ragehook.. If I update to the newer version your mods will work, but his will not.. just curious.

TO ALL USERS, BEFORE POSTING: FinKone is aware that RageHook v0.22 has been released, at this point in time it may be a while before he releases an update on this version, if you are someone who wants to use Police Radio we advise you to stay on RageHook v0.20 for the moment. to those of you who have already updated, you can downgrade versions by downloading a previous build from that plugin hooks website.

yes I would appreciate that very very much...I will stay on v20 until he updates and then I will download yours.. If you have both ped and vehicle search for v20.. I would be happy to use them.. I will check back in a short bit....I am in no hurry... again ty for responding.

Getting a lot of Blocked Mods lately due to Chrome and FireFox. Can't even use Internet Explorer either. Any other options so my Chrome or FireFox doesn't delete this file?

For Firefox, I believe you can go to your downloads, right click the download, and unblock it that way. For Chrome, once you download it and Chrome blocks it, go to your downloads (chrome://downloads in the url bar) and click Recover Malicious File. Accept and it'll recover the file.

Situation: I decided to test the mod straight away so when i got in i became LSPDFR and stopped a person and tried to frisk them

Attached winrar has: Logs, Screenshot of Plugins and your file with my extra items

Unfortunately, the latest version of Ped Search requires v0.22 of the RPH, and you have v0.20.

You can download a version that is compatible with RPH v0.20 here: PedSearch v1.1.0 (RPH v0.20.641.4077).zip

I'm having a bit of an issue. The plugin loads fine at startup and from the rage console, but it crashes whenever I try to search anyone. Here is the rage log, let me know if any other info would be helpful.

Never mind I figured out the issue. I must have downloaded the older version by accident. Just fixed it with the newest version and everything is working perfectly. Thanks for the awesome mod!

Every time I push G the plugin crashes, the PedSearch and the VehicleSearch both crash. I have the most updated Rage, but not sure if this is the correct logs or not, but Ill post what Rage text says. http://pastebin.com/Zsma83RL

It's the correct log. By latest do you mean RPH v0.22? If you could delete your RAGEPluginHook.log, start up the game and try using Ped Search again, then post your newly-generated log here, that'd be much appreciated.

Here's a version of Ped Search compatible with RPH v0.20, though I would just recommend upgrading RPH to v0.22 as long as it doesn't break your other plugins.

When I put in the RagePlugin 22 it crashes lspdfr right away, where do I find the lspdfr for rage 22 at sorry man for being a newb

Seems like with ragehook 0.22, at least for me, the mod doesn't work. I press the button but it does nothing. It doesn't crash, it just doesn't do anything. I have the mod autoload in startup.rhs. Interesting.

check your .ini file (pedsearch.ini) and see if you have a modifier key. I highly recommend that you do.

Is the modifier key set to 'None' and have you tried the default controls?
