Ambient Emergency Traffic 1.1.0

Hello and welcome to Ambient Emergency Traffic (AET)!

Ambient Emergency Traffic is a lightweight immersion plugin for LSPDFR designed to make the world of GTA V feel more alive by increasing ambient police, EMS, and fire department traffic throughout the map using GTA V’s normal AI systems.

Instead of forcing scripted events, pursuits, or crazy emergency situations everywhere, AET simply lets GTA take its natural course while adding more emergency vehicles into traffic to create a more active and realistic world during patrols.

You will now see:

• More police units patrolling the streets

• More ambulances driving throughout the city

• More fire trucks naturally moving around the map

• A world that feels more alive while on patrol

Features:

• Ambient police traffic

• Ambient EMS traffic

• Ambient fire traffic

• Full logging system

• Optional debug blips

• Fully customizable INI

• Auto-generated configuration

• Lightweight and performance friendly

• Vanilla GTA V vehicle support

Supported Vehicles:

• POLICE

• POLICE2

• POLICE3

• AMBULANCE

• FIRETRUK

Everything is fully customizable through the generated INI file, allowing you to adjust spawn settings, debug settings, cleanup settings, vehicle limits, and more.

If you ever have any problems with the logs, INI, or generated files, simply delete the AmbientEmergencyTraffic folder and reload the game and go on duty. Everything will automatically regenerate for you again.

Jerhodmyles122

@CosworthGaming uhhh well that's

the think u have no idea what this mod is going to become so it will stay rage bc it has to for what is coming

BUTTTITT I will always make another version of this mod for standalone just tweak it a bit

Been wanting an update of the original version of this mod and this one looks great

One thing that would make this mod better is creating zones for backup so that we don't have LSPD responding in Paleto or Blaine County Sheriff responding in the city

The INI doesn't have a option to modify custom dlc cars image.png

@OfficerKingsley that’s the standalone version it will be updated to support custom vehicles and all that just like the lspdfr version just wait on the update

Hello, I just wanted to point out that the assembly version of your plugin is: 1.0.0.0 instead of: 1.1.0.0

Jerhodmyles122

Members Author

@Lepoisson Appreciate the catch. Gameplay version is 1.1.0 — assembly metadata wasn't updated during packaging. Will be corrected in a future update.

That update sounds really great! I'll give it a try later. I'm most excited about the direct units from the immediate vicinity finally getting involved, as well as the assigned zones. However, if I understood correctly, if I use backup units via PR, this won't be taken into account, since—by default—it is only triggered through LSPDFR?

Jerhodmyles122

Members Author

@Bear82 Thank you! I appreciate it!

The system is mainly built around LSPDFR backup handling. It checks for nearby AET units first and falls back to normal LSPDFR backup when needed.

Third-party backup plugin support may vary depending on how those plugins work internally, but compatibility improvements are always considered for future updates.

Hope you enjoy the update, and thanks again for the feedback!

I have noticed the they spawn in front of you is there a way to have them spawn off screen or in traffic… it kills the immersion when they appear in front of you spawning

Jerhodmyles122

Members Author

@nova2727 It shouldn’t 💀 that’s not how I script it for either version and tested it they spawn anywhere and everywhere even in traffic but thank you I will take a look at the code base again to make sure I didn’t change that part of the spawning

Legendary6amer9

How do I use my dlc vehicles

Jerhodmyles122

Members Author

@Legendary6amer9 put your vehicle model name like police but your name of your car so example under police,police2,hellcatw15,demon in all caps and it should work and u should start seeing them in game if not lmk because I did make sure we can add dlc car and addons and all that stuff

Thank you, the police vehicles seem to spawn in front of player

Unfortunately, it's not working properly for me. I've tried several variations with the settings via .ini.

1) Only "CityPoliceVehicles" spawn everywhere on the map.

2) I tried disabling only the police vehicles using "EnablePolice" and/or "EnableZoneSystem" and/or "Backup," but without success.

If this problem only occurs for you, then there's certainly a conflict with another script. If not, I would appreciate any information.

P.S. No errors are reported in the "AmbientEmergencyTraffic.log".

Jerhodmyles122

@Bear82 Thanks for the report!

If only the vehicles listed under “CityPoliceVehicles” are spawning everywhere on the map, then that definitely isn’t the intended behavior.

A few questions:

• Are you using the latest version of AET?
• Does the issue occur with a completely default .ini file?
• When “EnableZoneSystem” is enabled, are all zone vehicle lists populated correctly?
• If you disable the zone system entirely, do the correct police vehicles spawn from the standard vehicle pools?

The fact that no errors are appearing in AmbientEmergencyTraffic.log is helpful, as it suggests the plugin is running successfully and not encountering configuration parsing errors.

If possible, could you send:
• Your full .ini file
• Your AmbientEmergencyTraffic.log file
• A list of any traffic/emergency-related plugins you’re currently running

If multiple users report the same behavior, I’ll investigate it as a potential bug in the zone selection system. If it’s only occurring on one setup, it’s likely a configuration issue or a conflict with another plugin.

I appreciate the detailed report!

@Bär82 Danke für den Bericht!

Oh great, speaking of which :) - I can't get it to work with the standard .ini anymore. It crashes immediately after I join the police force (forceduty).

I've attached both logs for you - one with my own settings and one with the standard one (>4 MB).

The latest version, "Ambient Emergency Traffic AET 1.1.0", is installed.

Only "CityPoliceVehicles" are spawned, regardless of whether "EnableZoneSystem" is set to true or false.

Even if I disable everything (EnableZoneSystem & EnablePolice), the police vehicles still spawn - disabling the police vehicles worked in the previous version.

I hope this helps.

@Bear82 Thanks for the additional information and logs.

Based on what you've described, this appears less likely to be a configuration issue and more likely to be either a bug or an unexpected interaction occurring after the plugin loads.

The most important detail is that police vehicles continue spawning even when EnablePolice is disabled. If that behavior can be reproduced on a clean/default configuration, then the setting is clearly not being respected somewhere in the spawning logic.

The fact that only CityPoliceVehicles appear regardless of the EnableZoneSystem setting is also useful, as it suggests the zone vehicle selection may not be functioning correctly and could be falling back to the city vehicle pool.

I'll review the logs and investigate both the police enable/disable logic and the zone-selection system.

Thank you for taking the time to test with both custom and default configurations and for providing the logs. That information is extremely helpful.
