Welcome To ExternalPoliceComputer

  • Thank you for downloading ExternalPoliceComputer

  • EPC allows you to use any device in your home network (e.g. a laptop, your mobile or just the same device you're playing LSPDFR on) as a modern MDT

  • Important notices: STP is no longer supported as PolicingRedefined is the new standard (you can still use STP, it just doesn't sync like PR does); Your old configuration files will no longer work - remove them; Node.js is no longer required because the server is now integrated into the LSPDFR plugin

Requirements

 

Installation

  • Move all files and folders from the ZIP file into your GTA main directory

 

Setup

  • When going on duty using LSPDFR, ExternalPoliceComputer will display notifications in-game containing the addresses, used to access EPC

  • If you missed them, ExternalPoliceComputer also generates a file including the addresses: GTAV/EPC/ipAddresses.txt

  • You can access EPC using any browser of your choice (however I recommend a Chromium based browser, e.g. Chrome, Brave, etc.) by entering one of the addresses (if one doesn't work, try the other)

  • For more information on usage, check out the GitHub README

Setup using Steam

  • In Steam go to Steam → Settings → In Game

  • Make sure Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game is enabled

  • Set Overlay shortcut key(s) to whatever key you want to use to open ExternalPoliceComputer

  • Set Web browser home page to http://127.0.0.1:8080 (or the url provided by EPC)

 

Customization

  • You can customize your config.json, language.json, arrestOptions.json and citationOptions.json; all located in the EPC folder of your GTA main directory

  • The config can be customized on the customization page to avoid having to reload LSPDFR

  • Check out the GitHub README to learn more about Plugins for EPC

  • I highly recommend installing these arrest and citations charges by @unitedOrange66

Short Description

ExternalPoliceComputer is the first Plugin for LSPDFR turning any device in your home network into a Police Computer.

I use GitHub Copilot's inline suggestions for VS and VS Code (mostly for repetitive code snippets). AI also helped upgrading the arrest and citation options from 1.x to 2.x. The plugin was not created by AI, AI merely improved the workflow.

It would be good if, just as it shows you the driver's license, etc., it would also show you if it has a weapons or fishing license.

The arrest reasons I place on peds using CompuLite does not sync with EPC and viceversa, is this right?

    That's not possible. Compulite doesn't have an API for me to use. I use STP's API and EPC has everything implemented that it offers.

    Thanks so much for this addon. After using Compulite and some obsolete mods with crash bugs, I found this. Its so much easier to issue charges and tickets. I do wish however that it did have some feature and simple handing animation to hand a driver a copy of a ticket/etc. I am also curious if the people charged and convicted in court are actually incarcerated or its just RP? It was pretty cool to also see that when using another ALPR mod that it actually displays correct alerts information as shown in EPC

     

    At any rate I use this pretty exclusively now.

    It's being worked on. However, this feature depends on another plugin that is still in the works by other devs.

    I am a noob with any web development etc. I have an issue which doesn't let me start the server using #start.bat, this is the error it brings up. I would appreciate any help :). Thank you.

    Go to your GTA main dir>EPC>config.json and change the port to 8080. If you need further support, please join the Discord server.

    I'm having an issue where every ped I get an ID from (STP) shows up as "Ped Not Found" or "Vehicle Not Found". I'm honestly not sure what went wrong in my installation.

    Just a question,do you know when we exit the game the database still exist? or when are joining the game again we make a new one? i mean everything we have done,tickets,court system etc...

    All court and shift data is kept. Data of peds that have been issued a citation or arrest report will remain as well.

    But is there any possibility to see the ped in the map again when we open again the game? Or the ped dissappear for ever after we close the game?

    the ped is gone if you close the game. this is how GTA works, nothing I can do.

    can you ad suporte for license plate changer? because it does not recognize the license plate at all it just says license plate not found even with the right letter and numbers

    your license plate changer would have to change LSPDFR's data, for EPC to be able to recognize it. I'd assume it only changes the visual license plate.

    I absolutely love this! Definitely a game changer! I would love to see it overhauled to look and work like an actual CAD and in the callouts screen it gives you a list of callouts! As well as an option to attach yourself to the callout, say you’re busy, and or on scene as well as a dispatcher tab

    Thanks for the positive feedback and your suggestions. If I ever have the motivation to work on EPC again, I'll keep them in mind.
