Do you remember this one feature LCPDFR has that lets you force a pursuit on any ped?
Ever felt that you encounter way too many people littering, taking photos of your car or honking at you for hours while you're busy beating someone with a phone book? Ever had someone flee after you tried to do an unarmed arrest? Ever wanted to have a chase with these individuals or any specific vehicle?

Now you can!

 

Pursuit on the fly lets you force a pursuit with a press of a button. Just aim at your preferred suspect and hit T (can be configured in the .ini). It also works when you're inside your vehicle. You can have multiple pursuits with as many peds as you want/the game allows.

 

 If you have any suggestions or ideas what I could add to this rather small plugin, let me know!

Small feature/what-you-should-know overview:

  • Force a pursuit on almost any ped or vehicle you want.
  • You can force multiple pursuits at once.
  • You can't force a pursuit on cops.
  • You are unable to force pursuit of sea and air vehicles.
  • You are able to force a pursuit from inside a vehicle.

Released

  • Updated for LSPDFR 0.4.6
  • Pretty much entirely rewritten, so a bunch of crashes and bugs are fixed. Let me know if you encounter any problems.

Hey men =)

Is there any way you add a feature in your mod to set a random chance for a ped to run away after a takedown ? For exemple i chase a car for 2 minutes, i make it stop and when i push the takedown key the ped try to run away forcing me to run after him or shooting him with lethal (or not) weapons ? After dozens hours playing the game i only got 2 foot pursuit. That's a little sad :(

when you say pursuit, it would be nice to have a red dot so you can call for backup immediately, Example: had a stolen Prison Bus with Criminals With Assault Gun that they kidnapped the Guard, and was unable to get close enough to have a pursuit or call Heli / SWAT for support because they would fire if i was close by them, but if its a star you cant, because that is a wanted person not a pursuit for LSPDFR, that and controller Support would be AWESOME 5**** all the way

I install one mod at a time and play for at least 30 minutes to ensure I can trace problems and I've came over this one only after installing this.

Other than the crashing, the actual marking and chasing that the mod claims to do works flawlessly, but it appears arresting those captured is a new story :(

Happened twice now in two different games. :O

So if you mark someone wanted and capture and arrest said someone the game crashes?

Honestly, I have no idea why it would do that. I've always played with loads of mods, including mine and Arrest Manager and haven't had a single issue with crashes when arresting someone. I might install some mods eventually again (haven't been playing V for a while) and see if I can reproduce or work around it. Can't promise it, though.

I don't know if its just me or not but when I force a pursuit other units who are nearby don't automatically join in. Everything else works fine and I can call in new backup but if there are other cops in the area they (mostly) don't join in.

Are you using LSPDFR+? You might be using its feature that disables ambient AI backup joining in.

Yes I am using LSPDFR plus, if I deleted it would that help?

You'll have to try in-game if it was indeed LSPDFR+ that was causing this. There is no need to delete it, though. Just open its .ini and look for 'AutoPursuitBackupEnabled=....' and make sure it's 'true' so that it looks like this: AutoPursuitBackupEnabled=True

Can you add this-

if any ped who runs a car over me while on duty or peds who fight with me while on duty would get auto pursuit/wanted.

This is a great mod, but isn't working for me in 0.4; it sets the suspect into "Pursuit mode", but the minimap doesn't change to the flashing lights and the type of backup I can call won't change to "Pursuit" either - I'm guessing 0.4 changed something ?

Yes, 0.4 did change some things. I don't think I'll update the mod anytime soon, though.

That's a shame, it's a great mod, but we all move on! I hope someone makes something similar soon! Thanks for all your work for this though

Still KIIIINNNDDD of works with LSPDFR .4 Local units will still chase after them and arrest them but it won't trigger a 'pursuit' like giving you the ability to track them or call in backup to chase them
UPDATE!!!: Author responded to this comment and updated the mod within 24 hours for .4.1.   Everything works perfectly now

Will it give you the ability to call in the pursuit and turn it into an actual pursuit?

Nice dude. I've seen so many people asking for this. I am going to begin testing it now! Hopefully it's stable with other mods and I'll add it to my list!

As mentioned in the description, you have to aim a weapon at a person and press T.

I haven't used Stop The Ped yet. Does it let you force a pursuit? If so, it may have something like Pursuit on the Fly integrated.

I did have a problem, it crashed the game for me when I tried to activate a pursuit on someone. But it was pretty random, I kinda did it on a PED on purpose I knew would break the game, they were already arrested or involved with something else. Not sure if you've buffed that out since. I have no use for this mod at the moment but I know other people are interested in using it so I will do another test soon. Keep up the great work.
