I’m proud to present the Taser X26 stun gun replacement mod for GTA V.

 

Includes the base X26 model, a variant with the XDPM module attached, and a variant with the X26c Camera attached.

 

Also included are texture variants for black and yellow and 3 different cartridge texture variants for 15 (Yellow), 21 (Silver), 25 (Green) foot ranges.

 

Please leave any feedback, suggestions and encountered issues below in the comments section.

Note: Texture variants do not change function of X26 and are only used for looks.

 

Main Installation

  1. Choose a model variant (Base, Cam, or XDPM).
  2. Open weapons.rpf inside of \mods(if enabled)\\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday8ng\dlc.rpf\x64\models\cdimages\ using OpenIV.
  3. Click “Edit mode” button inside of OpenIV (right of the path box).
  4. Replace w_pi_stungun+hi.ytd, w_pi_stungun_hi.ydr, w_pi_stungun.ytd, and w_pi_stungun.ydr using files from selected model variant above.
  5. Close OpenIV and start GTA V.

 

Note: Installation directions written for patch v1011. Other patch versions installation may differ.

 

Installation of texture variants

To install texture variants replace the appropriate w_x26_XX.png in w_pi_stungun+hi.ytd and the w_x26_XX_low.png in w_pi_stungun.ytd.

Did you follow the instructions? What is the exact error?

Yes i replaced the both of the 2 files with the x26 ones and it said corrupt game files please reinstall gta v

Mods or skins? If mods then yes i added mods for lspdfr but not for guns and no i didnt add any skins for anything other then the taser

Try uninstalling all the mods, skins, and taser then install them one by one until you find the cause of the error. I don't think it is the taser since no one else has reported the issue. To me, it sounds like it is another mod causing it, but I could be wrong.

@BufordT Hey! Great mod, just a question for you. I saw multiple officers aiming at a suspect and they had lasers coming out of theirs. How do I get the laser to work? Thanks!

That is something that LSPDFR does I believe. Not currently something you can do for your character. I'm hoping to add that feature in a future release of the X26, granted I can make it work and LSPDFR doesn't enable it first.

will this continue to work with other GTAV patches, once you update the update.rpf folder and reinstall this again ?

Yes, it should still work with with the latest update. Install instructions above should still work. You shouldn't need to reinstall the mod after an update since the stungun files reside in the patchday8ng and not the update.rpf unless R* moves the weapons.rpf to another location in a future update.

Would it be possible to add a reload feature to this? Like the reload on the railgun? A taser has one shot then the cartridge has to be changed so I think this would add a bit more realism and would be incredible.

A laser sight too would make this the boss and a required mod for all LSPDfr players.

Both features are being looked into for a future release.

    Hi, I have a problem. I have followed the exact installation process but my character doesn't hold the gun properly. The Taser sinks into the player's hand a little only exposing the top. Can someone help me?

    When I download the taser does it come with the color variations in game or can I only have one color?

    At the time you can only have one color via a texture.
