I’m proud to present the Taser X26 stun gun replacement mod for GTA V.

 

Includes the base X26 model, a variant with the XDPM module attached, and a variant with the X26c Camera attached.

 

Also included are texture variants for black and yellow and 3 different cartridge texture variants for 15 (Yellow), 21 (Silver), 25 (Green) foot ranges.

 

Please leave any feedback, suggestions and encountered issues below in the comments section.

Note: Texture variants do not change function of X26 and are only used for looks.

 

Main Installation

  1. Choose a model variant (Base, Cam, or XDPM).
  2. Open weapons.rpf inside of \mods(if enabled)\\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday8ng\dlc.rpf\x64\models\cdimages\ using OpenIV.
  3. Click “Edit mode” button inside of OpenIV (right of the path box).
  4. Replace w_pi_stungun+hi.ytd, w_pi_stungun_hi.ydr, w_pi_stungun.ytd, and w_pi_stungun.ydr using files from selected model variant above.
  5. Close OpenIV and start GTA V.

 

Note: Installation directions written for patch v1011. Other patch versions installation may differ.

 

Installation of texture variants

To install texture variants replace the appropriate w_x26_XX.png in w_pi_stungun+hi.ytd and the w_x26_XX_low.png in w_pi_stungun.ytd.

It'd definitely be an amazing feature, try asking around on the GTA Forums, there have been people to get laser scripts, so that's a possible way to go rather than editing the model itself. I appreciate the new release, the XDPM model is easily my fav.

I don't know if it's your mod or not but since I updated I installed the taser into the slot you explained in the read me it's not showing up in game and when I am in game  got to select the Taser it won't aim it acts like it freezes when I go to the taser and sometimes it's not even the taser appearing it's a gun and then when I get the taser it acts like a machine gun weird as all hell but like I said I don't think it's your taser mod personally I feel that this is being very buggy not liking it at all.

Doesn't sound like the issue is related to the Taser. It sounds like another mod causing a conflict with weapons somewhere.

Yeah, I am just getting annoyed I can't figure it out! I think I am going to start pulling mods and see if that changes the confliction with weapons, also another thing I am noticing is that the EUP mod is all messed up as well when I change the police uniforms arms are missing or uniforms are missing.

Not sure why, but in OpenIV it won't let me drag the files over, but I'm in edit mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Replace the original textures in the YTD file with the provided yellow textures via OpenIV. Search YouTube for a tutorial on replacing textures.

Hey bro love the mod. I was wondering if i could use your screen shot for a mod ive made. its only a uk police loadouts mod but i feel you screen shot would go well as it includes the taser. in the description i said it goes well along with this mod so i thought the picture would go with it. color variants folder has a base and cartridge color options. Use OpenIV to insert the png files into the ytd.

When I try to install this, I add the yellow taser images.  But the model is just a solid gray???

Works for me, I recommend that you put in patchday8 as all my weapons work there.

Hey, I saw in the comments that you were planning the Cartridge and Laser sight for the Taser and was wondering if you have done it/ If there is a possible release date for both features? 

 

feel free not to awnser as i know it will take time from you working on those features

    Sounds like you messed up the installation process somehow or you need to give yourself some weapons via a trainer or LSPDFR.
