AI Traffic -

Fluidity & Discipline

TRAFIC AI.jpg

Hey friends,

This mod is back with new functionality and new settings to make even more
intelligent (in theory) drivers a.i, I am still looking for a way to get there
We are getting closer to an a.i excellent in traffic, you can be sure they still look a little like us in this mod since I have not yet managed to control some crazy people who are probably deliberately put in
across our road.

Last minute information pending next update:
you can change the button in the file ". lua" with Notepad++ or bloc-notes, to the line "CONTROLS.IS_CONTROL_JUST_PRESSED(2, 45)"

- for the A button: 2, 18

- for X : 2, 22

- for Push stick left "horn" : 2, 28

- for Push stick right : 2, 29

- for LB : 2, 37

- for RB : 2, 44

- for d-pad : Left 2, 15 / Right 2, 74 / Up 2, 27 / Down 2, 19

- for Space Barre : 0, 22

ChangeLog. v9.1.1

[ ENG ]

- I added a script to manage independently the avoidance of obstacles, skill, aggression and driving style of the a.i that you can set according to your game. There is also the possibility of freezing
"stop" the traffic in a radius also configurable around you, by pressing the "B" key of your controller, by pressing a second time they will start again.

- I have rehashed the file "vehicleaihandlinginfo.meta" (hoping to do better ).
- I removed the "FLAG_BIG" from the file "vehicles.meta" as for other versions of this mod, so that all
Road vehicles will move away when you approach in code3.

[ FRA ]

Short Description

Something I didn't even know I needed!

Traffic in V is just "slightly" chaotic. Calmer traffic would make a much more realistic feel, especially in pursuits.
Love the idea, I'll be sure to give it a test!

Idiotic drivers have been my biggest annoyance in lspdfr, screw the crashes, but some driver ramming against my police car whilst I'm cleaning up a crime scene gets me like no other. Going to try this out!

About the file location though: I have another mod that puts the handlinginfo in update / update.rpf / common / data /.

Any reason why yours goes in common.rpf? GTA file structures are whack.. .

Played a few hours. With and without Clear The Way. Traffic responds nicely to both.

Did some code 3 driving through the city, county and freeways. Traffic responded well and it felt like I was actually rushing, not just doing the speed limit!

As for chases it works well for that too. I can focus on the person I'm chasing instead of having it look like the whole road is involved in the chase.

Adds a much more realistic feel, even just cruising around the city.
You still get the occasional idiot, but that just adds to the realism.

I admit I didn’t ask myself the question, for me it exists in common.rpf, I don’t see it in update/ update.rpf/ common/ data... but it works well like this, do you know what the difference is between these two paths ?

Excuse me, I sent my answer in the wrong box...cool, do the speeds in general seem more realistic to you or better adapted ?

None. One is from the original game files, ones from an updated file. Both do the same thing. I didn't have one in update.rpf/common/data, but adding it there is just like replacing the other one.
However I just added it there and replaced the other one. Usually what I do when in doubt.

They seem more realistic to me.
I'm also using LS Traffic by Cass, so for heavy amounts of traffic in the city and decent amount on the freeways this does seem realistic.

Been playing with it and so far so good, lovin it. I do still have this issue where cars make these random u-turns on highways and such, not caused by your mod but do you experience this too sometimes?

I’m glad that you like it, yes I check each of my settings I prepare a version 2 where I adjust the speed in turns that is not fluid currently and several other things that I discover little by little, have you tried with clear the way ? personally I prefer with

Haven't hear of ClearTheWayV but it looks really nice too, going to install it, good to know there is a version 2 coming, great work you are doing!

The only issue I have with this is if you have requested pursuit backup and change the mode from safe to either slightly aggressive or full out aggressive the pursuit cars will just hang back and not go after the fleeing car

I’ll look into it closely

hi, it's really cool mod..

my question:  does it has any conflict with ped changing behavior plugin, such as "Make Peds Calm Again"?

in that plugin, the driver behavior is also intervened and i just curious whether there's any conflict between them.

No I have not noticed any conflicts with this plugin... if you feel free to tell me... I simply make some modifications for me and like to share them if they are correct, I would not in any way sabotage the excellent work of the creators of plugins

I am thinking about giving this mod a go with after reading some of the reviews. I am curious though, will this make finding speeders impossible, as well as, other basic moving violations, or is it just more of a tuning of the ai behavior?

I try to find the right balance between speed and braking distances to make traffic more fluid but there are always drivers who escape my settings unintentionally, I don’t know if it generates conflicts and for that I am attentive to everyone’s comments...for the moment I have nothing...however I am currently preparing a version 2

do not hesitate to try this version and tell me if it causes you conflicts, this will be a valuable help

Hey there,

I'm loving how the traffic is a lot more controlled and it does feel like the AI is driving like someone who actually did learn how to drive. I do find some of my non-plugin policing (eg just regular traffic policing) is affected where the cars I'm chasing aren't actually speeding off but still maintaining lane discipline and sometimes even keeping to the speed limit. I've not had any difficulty stopping any pursuits ever since using this script because the AI I'm pursuing generally cruises around the speed limit. I also don't seem to have encounter speeders anymore on the freeways. And traffic along the small roads off outside of Los Santos (up the hills etc) is generally crawling. Am I the only one encountering this?

P.S. really do love this. If I can somehow get back some of the crazy pursuits that'd be great too!

EDIT: Okay, my mistake. There are speeders on the freeways. I finally encountered them. I suppose maybe I didn't encounter them earlier on due to it being around 7-8AM. Just did a quick drive down Olympic Freeway at about 9PM and found loads of speeders.

great, thank you for your precise comment, I am attentive to the little lack of speed that you reported to me and think to solve it in version 2.... don’t be worried apparently my settings don’t impact all A.I... but those that stay are really crazy 😁

I'm really enjoying your mod @RCrw notik.  Thanks for releasing it.

I just wanted to clarify, so you suggest using Clear the Way plugin as well as yours?  Secondly, is there a way to have AI traffic actually move around your traffic stop instead of stopping even though there is tons of space to get around?  Frustrating it is 🙂

I use the ctw plugin but without this plugin traffic is also stable - maybe without this plugin AI will react faster to your horn

the angle on which you arrive behind a driver may also determine in his reaction to block or not your path but it remains aleatory, unfortunately I am not competent enough to prevent it...I agree with you, it’s frustrating

love the fact that trucks and all now clear when your running lights but I ha to revert back to the first release with this most recent update the top speed im getting on the freeways is 48mph, with the first release I was getting speeders this 2nd release is pretty much like the very first release of the AI traffic calmed it slows down everything to a crawl and pursuits is stop and go at slow speeds

cody1

Members

when i do rader they dont go fast they go slow. and when im in a chase they just stop or go like 5mph

So the truth of it is, this mod works as intended. However, part of the fun is dealing with traffic, for me that is. In that, I like to catch speeders and pull over erratic drivers while also dealing with minor traffic infractions. Therefore, I cant really endorse the mod for me. I have spent about an hour playing with it and like I said it does stop the crazy but cops can be cops without some crazy.

If there was a way to make this mod work while at the same time keeping some deal of crazy it would be perfect. Hopefully you find a way because your work is not unappreciated but rather I cant enjoy it because it gets in the way of the style that I play.

Most traffic on the highway was around 45mph. I will say this though the meta you included that makes "Big Vehicles" pull over to the side when you are code 3 is a must have. Best of wishes and I hope that you continue to work on this in light of my particular play style. I will check back and thanks again for the hard work!! Keep it up!!
