  1. You'd be surprised. And no one here is saying it's the most difficult job or important, I know I don't think it is. I appreciate all everyday jobs, a society wouldn't functions without majority of them. I can safely say though that all emergency service personnel are working one of the more toughest and important jobs in society.
  2. The police in GTA V are extremely rare to begin with. These species are more commonly seen around police stations, scripted scenarios and are attracted by one starting trouble.
  3. Not exactly so. Long guns have begun appearing more commonly used by perps, leaving law enforcers in need of much greater firepower and range to neutralize the threat than what a service pistol or their shotgun may have. Incidents such as the North Hollywood bank robbery, Chris Dorner manhunt and many others in between have proven that it is necessary to have patrols carry this caliber of weaponry with them to prepare them for such situations. Since these LEO's are also trained to use them, long guns have become a valuable tool when tac units aren't there to help patrols. But yes they do. APC's are a great tool for getting law enforcers where they need to be SAFE when they're under a big threat. They aren't that commonly mobilized too, but when they are, it's for their best. Drones? I can imagine they're a great tool for tracking down perps on the run. They're not your military type drones armed with missiles by the way as a lot seem to think for some reason. Not every department does have SWAT. Why a lot do though is understandable, violence in the states isn't that rare and larger incidents that require tactical intervention are bound to happen more easily and they do, SWAT teams are highly essential even if they're on stand-by. People don't get most of the stuff is implented for officer safety. Like any firefighter or military soldier is granted equipment for their safety, so are the police. They shouldn't differ from it at all. Because of violence dangerous in nature is all too common and criminals have access to weaponry dealing damage in great lenghts, law enforcement agencies must have the upper hand.
  4. I hate people who don't catch onto things OP said and just ignore everything LEO's go through, then jump in to bash them ASAP for doing something totally justified.
  5. Why USA is also ranking high with homicides is affected by the huge population, different ethnic cultures living closey together, poverty, poor educational system, social security and many other different factors. It all adds to it and explains why some things are so over there. It's far from worst though. One I'd consider worse and is much closer to my home too is Russia. I can imagine law enforcement agencies in Africa (especially south) aren't most joyful neither.
  6. There are good cops and bad cops everywhere in the world, not just limited to the US. I'm farily certain good outweight the bad but media likes to focus on things where a MOS has conducted misconduct, police brutality etc...
  7. Yours is utterly shit premature though. I guess some people just haven't heard of placeholder models neither. Damn.
  8. Sure but cops in general, mein good sir. Besides, perhaps even some of the GTA cops are good! M_Y_COP_BLACK_01 is a great example of professionalism!
  9. Because it's in early stages of developement. Perhaps Alpha. Because it's not finished. Because a lot could still change. It's generally not a great idea value your opinion on a game that isn't even out yet.
  10. It's not that you said cops, but you divided them into two groups. Innocent people and LEO's.
  11. Why are you saying that so early on without the game actually finished or closer to it being released? That's pretty damn sad.
  12. The string about traffic cops was just left behind by developers. In the beta, the cops in Alderney used to be the traffic cops. Shouldn't have anything to do with your issue. If you'd allow me to, I could try and teamview you and detect the issue. Done it a few times now.
  13. Pretty sure it can go higher but if you have multiple model sections the textures usually screw up and load up on wrong meshes. Yes, it can be more than two. I mean, the cop_p already has 3 textures for glasses. C'mon.
  14. If you would've read, he alread did try googling.
  15. That's helpful.
  16. http://www.gta4-mods.com/misc/draw-distance-tweak-f9869 ;) The city isn't covered in fog anymore neither so you can actually see the tall buildings in the distance.
  17. That's why you investigate and look for what you changed. If you modded the ped models themselves, figuring the correct back up files to replace the current files with should be fairly easy. Default cop should be m_y_cop in the componentpeds.img for an example. If it was the pedgrp file thing, yeah, do what Rocking suggested.
  18. You can add it and it will load up randomly for the AI peds. For an example, the fat cop has two textures for his normal hat. No trainer has allowed you to switch through those textures yet, same applies with different sun/eyeglass textures. Here they are in action. The player can only use the glasses tinted with orange, which are not in the picture I posted above. Those are the two other textures which are exclusive for AI's.
  19. Should set up a bot that makes new topics as a new ODMP update comes in. Bit of a bump, but yeah. I think that'd be pretty cool. On topic though, sad to see another peace officer go, RIP.
  20. Those who don't back up files suffer the consequences. :)
  21. Bleh. I just want to know what they will do about GFWL shutting down, if anything.
  22. Oh, and that's not counting the time I've played on the console and the pirated PC version I had. You can't count. I beg you. You can't pass mine.
