To all you British police LCPDFR'ers out there, I will be creating the Met police sirens for GTA IV - search no more! These will be the proper versions,with all the correct tones matching. I will also be making ones unique to the force and not used by any other, such as the ones found on the older vehicles (53, 06 reg etc.). All sirens should be optimized for GTA IV, and come with a working bullhorn (fully functional, like the vanilla one). Now your blue light runs and police chases should be alot more realistic and immersive! Here are the ones I have created so far (To see the videos, click on the content links): Stirling Your average Met police siren. Widely used on many units, and still used on some today like the Torneo and Transit vans, and many ARVs, as well as Robbery Squad. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Oldskool Style Classic. Fitted on the older vehicles used by STC, Torneo vans (like the one in the video) and also used by the famous Robbery Squad (known for dashing around in unmarked mondeos). I dont know the name of this siren. I think this is the first time this siren has been in a video game, its very rare to find... ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Premier Hazard Sort of a reincarnation of the older MetSound siren found in TV shows like The Bill. Found on the Ford Focus IRVs. Also used on the COLP response cars. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ New Fleet Style Fitted to the newer fleet (12 & 62 reg etc.). I dont know the name of this one yet. I think its a Whelen. Found on the Volvo V70s, Vivaro vans, Octavia ANPR, i30 IRVs, some Focus IRVs etc. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Redtronic Common Met Police siren fitted to most Ford Transit Station Vans & IRVs, many ARVs & Unmarked Vehicles and some Traffic Units. Typically heard on a late Friday night. Also used by the PSNI on their escort motorbikes. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ MetSound The most ICONIC British police siren ever, that was fitted to all of the Met Police fleet from 1984-2002! Also featured throughout the UK Police TV Series, The Bill, and the 20 minute Police Camera Action TV special "The Liver Run". ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Whelen-Woodway Alpha/Beta The most common siren in London and the UK! Also used by many American police departments and across the world. Used in some scenes of The Bill as well. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ BMW 5 E39 Classic Sirens Classic siren used on the BMW 5 E39 Area Cars that PC Stamp drove in The Bill! ________________________________________________________________________________________________ I will add more sirens to here once I have created them, for quick access. Should be a great compliment to the Met Car & Ped Packs that I made. Its all these little bits that matter in a good game. If you got any ideas or suggestions feel free to comment in this thread. I will be updating it each time I release a new siren.

I was thinking about learning to use programming in GTA IV to write scripts, so that I could gain experience using the C++ syntax and do something productive at the same time, such as write some handy supplementary mods for LCPDFR like some of the other good authors around here. But seeing as GTA IV's spotlight-life seems to be coming to an end, Im starting to think it might not be worth the time learning it. Its the same story with Arma at the moment, Arma 2 is going out of date soon, and Arma 3 is on the way, but there is still no fixed release date. Thanks. I took a look at those links. So it seems to be that there is no native programming language for GTA IV, but user/community made APIs? And so there are two paths one can take, for programming, the C++ script hook for using the C++ syntax, and the .NET one for people who are more accustomed for using .NET? Is .NET a separate language, or is it a name for a specific programming interface?

Im learning C++ at the moment, and I just thought is it worth learning to script in GTA IV? I mean, can it give experience using the programming language and a good window to try out syntax with the GTA IV engine as a base? I thought it might be a good idea to improve on skills and such, and do something useful while at it. After learning the syntax, and possibly some windows APIs, is it worth learning it the time and effort for experience? Can the C++ language be used to write scripts in GTA IV? Also, what namespaces does it operate in, and is there an API with a list of in-built functions and variables used by the game? Is there a GTA IV scripting command/object reference? I dont know much about scripting for GTA IV, but scripting/programming in general is nothing new for me. I am already a scripter for Arma 2 so I know what it is like to code in a game engine (but not through an external API).

The Police Stockade uses the standard "STOCKADE" handling line which all derivatives of the stockade use (bank stockade, civ stockade, police and noose stockade). I dont think the "#SWAT" line was ever used in the game.

Just dont use any high poly mods. I think luxart made alot of stock car mods ELS enabled and with rambars and stuff. You can find alot of them on here and GPM.

Now you posted all that information, I dont suggest you visit those areas anymore in LC. You might get jumped...

Thanks. Did you install the separate handling for the Galaxy? There is one provided in the folder the files are in because it is not compatible with the handling of the Volvo (which is default). I cant fix the police bike, I didnt make the model (BritishPoliceMods did), but I made the textures and handling. The spawning might be related to your trainer you are using to spawn it.

Happens to me too, with some models. For some reason they spawn with multiple liveries but I cant seem to change to them with the trainer...

I use CS5.

If you can, use photoshop. You dont have to learn advanced computing to use it, you can just watch a few tutorials (there are loads on youtube) and gain skill by using it over time. Its fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it.

It only happens when you enable vehicles with ELS. You can disable vehicles using ELS in the config file (useful if you have non ELS vehicles as well as ELS enabled ones). And yes, ELS vehicles have that door opening bug. It happens because the car is constantly updated with changing components IIRC.

It depends on the models. I dont create the models at this stage, just the configs and textures. If there are some better models out link them in this thread I will review them for the pack (as long as they are the same cars as the ones included in the pack).

That is enabled on some of the cars (the ones that support extra liveries) e.g the BMW X5, Volvo V70 and the 5 Series. As for the number plates it depends if the plate was modeled or was added in the livery texture (the latter is much more flexible).
