Well, I don't know what pulled me out of hibernation to comment on this, and am quite surprised it hasn't been locked yet. But just to throw my two cents in... I dislike both candidates. Hillary is the epitome of what's wrong with politicians in our country. She's a liar and fraud. Trump is an obnoxious bigot. But, I'd rather have a bully as a leader than a murderer. The mere fact that Hillary is able to run for office and still have 2 criminal investigations ongoing shows how messed up of a country we are. And, at the end of the day, I'd rather go to work knowing my president isn't going to throw me under the bus.

Hmmm. Guess I'll come out of hiding for this topic. No you don't need a degree to pursue a career in Law Enforcement. Each department is different, check their requirements. Have a clean driving/criminal record and don't try to hide ANYTHING during the background investigation phase. Military is not exactly a BIG plus in terms of chances for getting the job. They don't want hardened combat vets in today's policing world. I'm an LEO now, and former military (Air Force Security Forces, and I did deploy to A-stan so I'm talking from experience.) Sorry to hear about your rejection, btw. The AF is picky AF nowadays. Please do a ride-a-long BEFORE any potential interview and let the officer know you've applied and tell the interviewer that you did do a ride-a-long (that gives them some kind of direct reference to go to, and somebody who could potentially recommend you.) Ohio is a hard state for LEO, however. Honestly, I'd recommend the Highway Patrol (I'm a current trooper in another state). I know OHP requires only a HS diploma and they're in need. They love young men & woman who could make a career out of it. It's the hardest and longest training you'll go through (paramilitary training and environment), but nothing beats the immense pride you'll carry with you. I'd compare it to the Marines of law enforcement. You went through harder and longer training than anybody else and more is expected of you. There's a reason troopers carry themselves with such pride and they are looked up to by citizens and other LEAs alike. NOTHING beats that feeling of wearing your campaign cover for the first time with the badge.

Wow. That clears a lot up actually. I appreciate it. So if I'm following you correctly, I can move all the Police files from the various "patchday" folders into "patchday5" and it'll work? One last thing, there is a police 2(I think) in "patchday3" and "patchday4" which one does the game read?

Well, after having been away for a good while, through all the updates of GTAV and LSPDFR, I've decided to get back into it. However, I'm pretty lost when it comes to adding in modded vehicles (not as straightforward as GTAIV, at least). Any video or guide I've read says different things about which "patchday" folder the game loads a certain vehicle from, I'm not seeing certain vehicles in certain folders, and then I guess I have to create a "mod" folder? I'm pretty lost on what I'm doing. And before I critically break my game and have to redownload or backup large files, I figured I'd ask here first. Is there no more file for each vehicle, Sheriff stanier, granger, LSPD stanier, buffalo, etc? Or is each model just in the gamefile once, and each livery (sheriff, lspd, etc) contained within the model file?

*sigh* they told us this would happen, and yet we heed no caution.

For the most part our battery (For me it's called Assault) is the same. Then we use a 1+1+1...etc method to determine the degrees of the charges. Assault 3rd, 2nd, 1st. Or Assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. Plus just basic definitions of injury. And most police agencies here are self-sustained. Meaning their salaries are usually reflective of the community they police. Not exactly balanced at all. For example I work for a highway patrol agency (state level Law enforcement) and my training was 100x harder and 10 weeks longer than every other agency. Yet my salary is one of the top 5 lowest in the state for a full time law enforcement officer.

Thats surprisinf to hear. I've been through pretty much all the training you've had and 21 weeks seemed like overkill. Are your laws and statutes complicated (I.e. elements, conditions, etc)? Take for example battery.

Mine was 21 weeks long. I'm against colleges attempting to prepare you for a career in law enforcement. 21 weeks is PLENTY long enough to learn the basic legals and operating procedures (driving, use of force, tactics, etc). And still have time to actually do practical training and exercises (roleplaying). Knowing why the Carroll doctrine exists and knowing when and where it was established doesn't really help you (Although, ironically I prosecute my own cases, so for me it does help). In actuality, 21 weeks is longer than what is necessary, in my opinion; 12-16 weeks is plenty. I went through a highway patrol academy so I had a few weeks of nothing but traffic law.

Oh yeah. I learned those at the police academy I went to. Although we try not to use them, due to the aggressive appearance. Although at my post academy, we were taught a lot of different grappling techniques and compliance techniques. Same reason a lot of departments either A) don't issue batons or B) spend very little time on baton training. Again, received very little training on my baton during the academy, but relieved a plethora of it at my post academy. Post academy was taught by my agency, while the actual academy is state run.

Yep. Especially with as quick as one would go out, if applied correctly. Garner struggled and managed to scream for a good while. Although, rear naked chokes, can very easily be turned into lethal force, by a mis-position of the arm.

Love that guy! Always watch his videos, and brings up logical sense and points at times when common sense is absent from the media and lawmakers.

Playing the devil's advocate, most police officers don't practice the most basic of defensive tactics they should have received. 3 years later when they completely forget it, they go back to gross motor skills (kicks, knees, punches, baton, etc.) Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you look at it), I had to wrestle a guy who refused to let me put cuffs on him, about 2 months out of the academy. I decided to try one of the defensive tactics we learned (iron wristlock takedown, if you know what that is...* PAINFUL*), and easily got him to comply. To me, that is one tactic I'll practice religiously, if nothing else.

Okay then, for eevery crime you just listed we should ban knives too, since they're used just as often as weapons. No one cares when Joe gangster kills John gangster. It's only a problem when it's a multiple casualty shooting. If I'm determined to go into a mall and kill somebody, I'm gonna get a gun legally or not. And nowhere did I ever say we needed more guns. Once the the war on drugs actually starts making an impact, then tell me it'll be easy to restrict the sales of guns and keep them out of violent offenders' hands.
