  1. Give me a specific example of how a cop is trampling people's rights by wielding an m4. On the video it looks like to me he is about to run away. I didn't know he was supposedly holding knives.. That most definitely changes things.
  2. It's not. Would you rather than show up in just their uniform to maybe a homeless vet with PTSD who has a shotgun, and starts shooting at them as they approach? Then you have may have 3 dead cops and crazy vet on the run. The only reason their equipment bothers people who think like you, is because he was shot with it. Getting shot with an M4, is the same thing as getting shot with glock; You got shot with a bullet.
  3. Their equipment means nothing. Charlie Hebdo is the reason were armed. The LA bank robbery is why. When the bad guys use AKs and body armor, the cops need that too. The call they got was some crazy guy camping on in the desert. The shooting was horrible and wrong. Their equipment means nothing.
  4. Yeah, those guys are done for the most part with their career. They made their success when illegal distribution wasn't anywhere near as big of an issue as it is today. There's a lot of artists today that aren't bothered by it at all. And then there's some that are. I believe it just comes down to why they're doing what they're doing. For the love of the art, or for an easy cashgrab. At the end of the day, they don't decide the price. The companies do. Unless they have egos to feed they have to realize that the rising prices for a song is outrageous.
  5. Stereotypically, you really only hear about pop stars and country stars caring about their music being accessed legally. I'm sure other genre's have their artists that are the same way. And of course I didn't think they'd do anything when I told them that. That's just their personality. They don't give a shit and are layed back about it.
  6. Zero. I've had the chance to speak with Corey Taylor and M. Shadows (Slipknot and A7X) and they both think it's a joke to pay for a single song. I've openly told them I've downloaded their songs for nothing and they don't give 2 shits. Although, it may be different among pop singers and country singers.
  7. I've been told I come off as a prick and scare kids................................ I'm proud.
  8. This person obviously has not heard Obama's plan on Immigration reform.
  9. Actually according to approval polls he pretty bad. If you can't get at least half the country to approve, than you're bad. He's jacked up a lot of policies and blatantly disregards the Constitution. Take your pick: immigration, health care, middle east, foreign policy, etc. (or my personal favorite, saluting.) Although this was more of a rhetorical post, don't wanna get off topic.
  10. "Obama be like 'I 'da king!'" Great idea in theory, but as somebody stated above, it decreases the value of a 2 yr degree. Although I HIGHLY doubt it'll get through congress. Those Rep. have an axe to grind with Obama.
  11. When you're shot at close range with a high velocity round such as a 7.62, there's a chance that it doesn't tumble, and hits the target like a hot knife through butter. Not every headshot makes a graphic splatter effect, like you see in Hollywood.
  12. Well maybe you're right, maybe I'm right. This will go in a circular, hypothetical debate. You're basing your argument off of the fact that there is no article that says he WAS armed. Nobody is saying he was armed (as of me writing this). I'm basing mine off of credible news sources (regardless of their source, because neither of us know where the information is coming from) that say he was unarmed.
  13. Please read the reports. They clearly stated the officers killed were unarmed.
  14. Here's food for thought as I watch CNN analyze this. Had those police officers been armed, maybe this could have been prevented, or at least stopped from escaping.
  15. Kind of funny, but at the same time I take mild offense to the arrogance of this article. I've been to 3 other countries, which would include at least 2 other cultures, and I've seen many people wearing baseball caps, and white athletic socks. Hell, I've seen that stuff in Dubai. The teeth thing I get, Americans are the most vain people on the planet. Same with the breast things. American culture shames sex and anything related to it; why, I don't know. 5,6, and 7 are kind of off in my opinion but I guess I could see that, although myself and the plethora of people I've traveled with don't fit with any of those things. And the thing about tap water I believe is dead wrong. Part of me feels like this article was meant to be factual, but ended up getting the stereotype of a rich, arrogant american who travels abroad. I'm trying not to sound like an arrogant american, but I've personally never seen some of this stuff that they're talking about, and don't really see many Americans doing this. Most of the American tourists I see are usually "prepared" for travels. Not the "ignorant american who still thinks that he's in america", even though they do exist. This article is making it sound like all americans are like this, which is what I'm taking mild offense to. Although I get this article as a joke in a way, and did find it amusing, so sorry if I came of "prick-ish".
  16. Welcome. Good luck in AFSOC. Training is brutal, but the dudes seem legit.
  17. While I see your point, I'm reminded of a similar project by the US military regarding new battle rifles. We've been trying to find a replacement for the "aging" AR platform (As the pentagon calls it), yet all we continue to do is make mini modifications to a platform that was designed before I was born. If it's a proven platform, don't try to replace it. Sure the A-10 is changing, but that doesn't mean that can't redesign it and "upgrade" it. The A-10 was designed for one thing and one thing only. The F-35 is trying to be the God-Mode of planes, and quite frankly, I don't see how it'll work. It's trying to be the P.1000 Ratte of the modern era. I don't see the A-10 being shot down, with simple enhancements being made to it, and making it a more "modern" jet. Since it was designed as more of a CAS jet, in coordination with infantry and the likes of an actual warzone, the survivability only goes up. Although the one thing I'm more worried about is OpFor fighters. Against the Taliban and the like the A-10 flourishes. Against an actual country which has a functioning air force, the A-10 would need fighter escorts or be 100% sure the are was clear of AA. "Low, slow, kill everything below" - The A-10 pilots' saying is the reason they achieve excellent results.
  18. I don't recall that being a cause, but regardless there seems to be a common theme that I've gathered from other people I've talked to about this: As long as it's our government surveilling us for national security, we don't have a problem with it. As soon as it turns into another government or third party corporation (Something akin to the TV show Person of Interest), we go up in arms about it. Now we're afforded the freedom of speech. Now I would hope that everyone on here realizes that if you publicly prompt ISIS, you're gonna land on their watchlist, which I don't have a problem with. If you support an enemy, or political belief, or any ideology that goes against the US, I believe you should be surveyed. Just like during the height of the Cold War, I don't believe any True American cared if the government kept a dossier on them, since it was for determining if you were sympathetic to the Soviets or their ideology. Simply stating, "I don't agree with Obama's policy on Immigration because xxxxxxxx" wouldn't get you landed on their radar. Although I believe we're starting blend together the Intelligence agencies surveilling us, and LEAs surveilling us. Their motivations and policies are completely different.
  19. Media, and Hollywood have made us paranoid as a society. This kind of surveillance has existed since the revolution. Your neighbors would spy on you if they though you were a loyalist, and would keep records of who you associated with, shopped at, traveled to, and what you may be doing in your house. That hasn't changed to this day. So yes, unless you're doing something illegal, you have nothing to worry about. The government is not gonna go all "Enemy of the State" on you and plant evidence and trackers on you and destroy your life. That is a prime example of Hollywood perverting the American public.
  20. Actually what's fucking up the dev of the f-35 is, like I said above, politics. The Pentagon is tired of the issues that's arising within the development. The services are wanting to push these out immediately, but the plane is, to use a known expression here, an "Early Access" plane. They can't solve the HUD glitch mounted to the helmet, the main cannon which is a downgrade for USAF won't be operational until 2019 due to a computer glitch, the cannon only holds around 200 rounds, and many test pilots have been stating that it handles worse than current fighters for A2A combat. The Joint Chiefs are wanting to roll this baby out now, and the pentagon is tired of bailing out the program because Lockheed-Martin can't get their shit together. In my opinion, this is nothing more than the Politics at it's best. We're trying to design a plane that can be effective in multiple roles (ground attack, air attack, etc), and the fact is is that it's not needed. Our current planes are effective at their designated jobs and none of the pilots or the services are complaining. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
  21. Don't get me started on this. This is politics and bidding at their best. Long story short, why replace the A-10????It's the the most ugly, beautiful aircraft we have. Nothing makes my balls tingle like hearing that 30mm gun hum her beautiful song. And now you're telling me the F-35's main gun won't actually be able to be used until another like 5 or 10 years later (didn't read the posted story, just going of other articles I read). Somebody start a petition to keep the A-10! #SAVETHEWARTHOG
  22. First, agree with the post about this being the reason for not having kids. It's a stupid reason. You're pretty much saying "all kids behave like animals, and I'd never want to have to deal with that." Secondly, I feel that this is staged in some way. Employees would stop him, especially going back into receiving.
  23. Playing A10 module on DCS, with an actual A10 pilot trying to teach me. Fraternizing is a BITCH!
  24. When you're 17 TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT, why would you even try to pay that back?! What's another 2 billion here, or 200 million here? On a good note, PAY RAISE FOR ME!!
  25. LOL! I didn't wanna be that guy, so thanks for stepping up!
