First a tiny heads up, people don't tend to like people asking the same question twice within a couple of hours, and double posting might be against the forum rules (not sure though) Anyway, If you want to "convert" the skin to another template, you will first need to ask Nutt if you can use his skin on another car. Then you basically have to redo the skin from scratch using the template that is included in the DFS CVPI download. For a tutorial on skinning you can go to the tutorial section on LCPDFR: http://www.lcpdfr.com/page/tutorials/index.action I am not a skinner myself, so my knowledge stops here, but I do know making a high quality skin is pretty hard, so don't give up if the first try isn't succesfull. In my country it is illegal to wear a police costume in public if you aren't one. Best bet would be any carnival/costume shop.

If the templates are the same you can simply replace the livery of the DFS CVPI with the livery of Nutt's CVPI with OpenIV. If not, you will have to convert the skin to DFS CVPI template. Hope this helps ;)

It actually would be pretty stupid if it was not backwards compatible. Considering the huge amount of ELS-enabled cars available here on LCPDFR and other sites. Anyway I am really looking forward to this, since ELS V6 doesn't work for me and ELS V5 AI cars won't despawn.

Its a third party program called OblyTile. You can get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1899865 With that you can make custom tiles. The images are downloaded from the internet You can find some great ones here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=497663 (<-- This one also explains how to use OblyTile) DeviantArt http://walloftiles.net/ or just google it, I usually get the best results with something like this: "[GAME] Windows 8 tile" Or if you want, I can send you my collection of tiles. I have about 800-900 of them.

No icons on my desktop, except for the trash can, everything is in the Metro UI + hidden task bar for the best wallpaper expierence

Start as admin? I would be nice if you provide more info on precisely the steps you made leading to this crash

I had actually no trouble with installing GTA IV on Windows 8. But I did have manually installed the newest GFWL client. Do this before GTA IV Once GTA is installed you can simply run it as admin and it will work. atleast in my case. You may need to install Rockstar Social Club seperatly after installing GTA, but you will know by an error. the setup for that can be found on the disc or in the install directory of GTA

In ELS when you press G it switches to the next siren mode. so if you hold G its starts switching constantly, thats probably the cause of the game crash. best thing to is go into your GTA settings and change the horn button to another button, i have mine on middle mouse button.

The AI of GTA IV is too stupid for these kind of things, so the either put a barrier down or completely block the road from left to right with cars.

I had the same problem aswell, sadly the only fix I could find is reinstalling the game. tbh I am glad I reinstalled, I now have a much more stable game. And remember after you uninstalled to go in your program files and delete the GTA directory like Carrythxd said
