  1. I'm just curious as to what the differences are between the Nightstalker Crown Vic & the plain jane CVPI.
  2. Anyone interested in doing a Whelen CenCom Gold siren? I can't find one.
  3. What difference does it make that I'm in Canada? It doesn't make it any less wrong.. & I think you should check your attitude, I'm not against it at all, I have lights in my car but I like lights that's all, I'm just saying doing "Radar in a parking lot" because you can is just ignorant & what are you going to do if a cop rolls up on you asking questions? start throwing your rights at him/her? that's a great start to a career in LE, if policing is your passion, your going about it the wrong way & are going to push it but I'll leave it at that for now.
  4. Don't compare owning a firearm to police equipment, it's 2 completely different things.. why? because owning a firearm is a constitutional right having police equipment isn't & they CAN search your vehicle if they have suspicion that you are impersonating, which doing radar for no reason IS impersonation no matter how you look at it, you are doing what a police officer does, which makes you impersonating an Officers duties, whether he can prove it or not, you are still doing it, which makes you a problem & the reason why cops don't like us people who drive crown vics, sorry, but having legal police equipment isn't a constitutional right, so keep studying.. I don't give the police any reason to bother me & if they come bothering you, then you deserve it, legal or not, doesn't make it right, who wants to do that anyway?
  5. Oh this is gonna give people ideas, probably not good ones either.
  6. I actually tried that car out yesterday, all of the lights are only mapped to the Wig Wags.
  7. What the cop did was indeed a crime, He intimidated him & I can't remember what it's called but it is an offence & charges can ensue.
  8. Problem is they don't know if your doing anything illegal with the equipment or know what you intend to do with it, so they can question you, what do you need radar for? that is definitely impersonation & if i'm not mistaken, that piece of equipment is illegal, sitting in a parking lot by yourself doing radar is impersonation, because that is part of a cops job, so you would be impersonating his daily duties -Impersonation- that's definitely crossing the line, at least my car is only going to be used for car shows, none of that extra crap, just lights.
  9. Amen brother! It is a waste of time to buy a CVPI and put everything that a cop uses into it, they CAN nail you but wanting to put a radio is just silly that's when even I ask, what are you planning on doing with it? People that impersonate cops have to have a mental disorder because it's not cool or even funny, i'm not saying everyone is like that, but there is a fine line, a couple strobes lights that aren't red/blue shouldn't be an issue, my car is going to be tricked out with lights and not one of them are going to be red/blue & i'm moving the strobes out of the big part of the tail light to the below compartment. But once you start adding a lightbar, push bumper, spotlight, radio, pretty much anything "visible" your asking for trouble, out of sight, out of mind, people don't have that mindset.
  10. I like the guy that talks about Semen lol he's pretty funny in the movies he does.
  11. I think EVI's Crown Vic's were the most realistic in size, suspension, I had no idea the DSF model was that long.
  12. I don't have red or blue lights, so I don't see how this pertains to me, i'm not "recreating" a police vehicle, I am putting lights in a vehicle that are neither red nor blue, I could buy them LEGALLY but i'm not that stupid, all highway clearance (snow plows or any kind of service vehicle ONLY have amber lights not blue) I thought it was weird though, I saw a Nova scotia power service truck the other day with white headlight strobes, I don't see how i'm "treading" on thin ice, I don't have any equipment that says i'm a cop or that i'm trying to pull people over nor do I have green lights, they can't pull you over for having them as they are not illegal to have, I have asked this question over & over, & I have gotten the same answer everytime "The lights don't pose a problem legally, they are NOT to be used on public roadways but can be used on private property". I don't have radios I don't have a push bumper, but it's not out of the ordinary to have one, I see car/trucks rolling with them all the time, trucks even come stock with them. The fuss is all over lights being put back into crown vics.. is saw a white Volkswagon Golf this summer with 4 strobes on the front bumper, ON on a public roadway, nothing was said to him, why? because it's unusual. I haven't given the police any reason to hassle me or even come to my doorstep I've never used them on a public roadway either. EDIT: I went ahead and asked a Halifax Police Officer a few minutes ago what the legalities are, I will wait his response & I will cpy & paste once I get it.
  13. I'll post a vid once I have them installed, i'm putting the Vertex on my mirrors & the other 2 on the black part of the trunk lid, my buddy is charging me $500.00 to install everything, really good price considering the light distributor out here wanted to charge me $800.00 for 4 strobes & I have 6 in there now that cost $250.00 to install.
  14. I have all the lights minus 2 Whelen Vertex I may pick up next Wednesday, the White marker lights, Reverse lights & tail light strobes I already have installed on another switch, but these are the ones I have now in the pics, just have to get them installed.
  15. Police scanners are legal, you just can't talk to cops legally over them, a couple tow trucks in my companies fleet have 2 (I think) & they use them to chase car accidents, when Police are on scene, I've had a couple. I personally can't understand why people have to over do it, Radio's, spotlights or even a siren, you can't use it, well you can but you don't want to attract attention to yourself and are not normal things to have in a car in any way shape or form, my buddy that outfits RCMP vehicles is going to get a custom built armrest with the light switches I need. Amber strobes tubes will be wired for the amber strobes only white Strobes tubes will be wired to white strobes only Amber Whelen Vertex will be wired to each other on their own Wig Wags will be wired by themselves all of these will have their own individual switch & will be able to be hidden inside the armrest, i'm not looking to be like 'Hey guess what Officer I have the same shit you do, come search my car, it's SOOOO cool", after all these are installed it will hardly be driven except to car shows.
  16. It's really no different if I were to outfit a Hyundai Elantra with lights, sirens, wigwags, etc, if your not giving the Police any reason to watch you, there shouldn't be a problem, if I bought an F-150 and put a push bumper on it, does that make me a wanna be? no, it doesn't makes me like everyone else, difference is we own crown vics, people that put Red/Blue lights in their vehicles that aren't cops disgust me & make this the reason people frown upon guys like us buying a crown vics, because they abuse the fact they are driving a crown vic, I know a lot of people who are crown vic fanatics & are not wannabe's, i'm not a wannabe, but I do like lights, a lot, I don't drive with them on, I have good judgement & I'm mature enough to know the consequences if I do abuse it.. They are indeed money pits, but any vehicles can be, cop cars were maintained better than most cars on the road but unfortunately American Police have way less restrictions than Canadian Police, so they beat the fuck out of them.. Any car is worth the money if that is the vehicle you want to drive.

  18. Well, me personally, I like the look of them as well as the sound and power but they're cheap & fuel mileage is great on the highway, I want to fully restore mine and have it as a show car probably going to be next summer, I have strobes lights in mine, but I don't use them, they ride probably better than most trucks do, those crown vics in those pics are in pretty dodgy shape and the push bumper is beat to shit. I'd personally like a push bumper because if I hit something head my car is totaled. I currently have 6 strobes in it and am going to put 4 amber ones in as well as well as a light strip in the back window and I have Whelen Vertex (Amber) to install on the mirrors, after all the gear is installed I will probably not drive it except to show it off, unfortunately some people get them for the wrong reasons & people are very negative about why people buy them.
  19. They don't go for very much, mines an 03 and I paid $1200.00 for it, beautiful shape, has 233,000KM on it though, but i'm gonna put a new motor in it eventually, they're worth it if that is the kind of car you want, any car is worth it if that is what you want to drive.

  23. This Taurus I snapped a pic of this morning Whelen Edge 9000MM Strobes Light Bar. LED Wig Wag System Whelen Vertex (Marker lights, Tail Lights, Reverse Lights) Whelen Inner Edge in the back window
  24. Would've been cool if he somehow had an option to have the marker strobes, reverse lights and tail lights strobes flash on the ground, with an option to turn it off in the .ini
