  1. Oh wow. For some stupid reason there is a safety check being completely missed here. Also that message was for testing purposes I just apparently forgot to remove it. Derp. Give me 5 mins to rebuild it and I'll re-upload. Thanks for reporting this.
  2. I designed it so my call happens after the LCPDFR one, I spent quite a while measuring that delay and increasing my own to suit it properly. Unfortunately that is tuned to my PC's performance, the tick rate of the plugin may be slower or faster (by a fractional amount) on your own but hopefully the delay is enough. Oh and even if it doesn't find an ambulance, it will go ahead and spawn it's own rather than crash. (which is why it's ok to reset the keybind to something else) The delay before the call will still occur though, so don't panic if you call for an ambulance and nothing happens for like 10 seconds.
  3. Setting them both to "None" should disable the feature (by disable it I mean it can never be activated and therefore will never call) Heres my example: VehicleHazards=None VehicleHazardsModifier=None Be sure you haven't accidentally changed something else.
  4. More than likely, it was built on the API from _2 so using a previous version may cause problems (I can't say I've tried running it on an outdated version)
  5. Update Released! The latest version, 0.7, is now available for download! It is built to run on LCPDFR 1.0d_2 (that is the first hotfix patch for 1.0d) Changes • IMPORTANT: Ambulance keybind was changed to LControl + M (the same as the LCPDFR ambulance). This is because I now check for a pre-existing ambulance first. by doing this, we can take control of the LCPDFR ambulance rather than spawn a new one. If you reset the keybind to anything else it will still perform this check, but will not find an ambulance (because lcpdfr spawning was not called) • Removal Team, and Ambulance now check for a unit already available (and if not, continues with spawning one in) • Paramedic will now treat multiple victims in the area (this looks for all loaded peds, so he may end up running around the corner to someone) • Improved AI with dispatch units so they arrive a little better, increased interval between each check to see if they are stuck. • Huge overhaul of the way the dispatch units operate internally, this allows for better interaction and makes things work better internally too. • NEW: Added questioning feature, when in a traffic stop, detain the driver in the backseat of your car and press Q (configurable) to initiate. • NEW: Added new callouts, "location event". Now you can respond to a store thief with a gun or drug enraged ped with a knife at various interior locations around liberty city. Download
  6. The majority of the video is stupid. But the puppy flying out of the truck? I lost my shit. Could not control my laughter at how high it went. Sorry. I'm going to hell I know.
  7. This is a difficult question, I'll try and make it simple for you: Hard copy: + Got a relic to put on your shelf of games (I enjoy seeing a wall of games rather than a list on steam) + If you lose the internet or lose your digital account or whatever, you can easily reinstall as you have the disk + Paper copy of the map to put on your wall because why the fuck not + New disk smell + the joy of ripping open the stupid security sticker and hearing that oh so satisfying "click" of the case opening, as you launch plastic wrapping everywhere - Disk can be scratched = fucked - Disk/serial can be lost = fucked - Reinstalling takes FOREVER Steam/Digital copy: + Always got it if you move PC + Can easily unfuck the game (steam verify cache etc) + No disks or shit to mess around with + Linked to your account so you can install it elsewhere + Steam overlay...let's be honest it's quite handy at times (*other brands may not be as handy, see your own personal opinion on digital games launchers for more details) - Install the game? Nope gotta wait 13,124 hours to download the game, only to find out when it hits 99% that the download failed due to a really slight interruption in your internet. Have to repeat - No sense of joy when you own the game, just pure frustration waiting for the download, then the install, then the client to say "oops no, 100 patches first lol" - Lose all sense of excitement when you go to the shop/it gets delivered in the post because your already bored waiting for it to download. - No refunds or ability to sell it on Hope this helps :)
  8. There is a huge number of place you can get funding for something like this. Drones are much easier to produce and cost less. (you hire a nerd with basic medical knowledge to fly it rather than have to pay 2 fully qualified paramedics, bad I know but it's an example) Very true, very true. But specifically in the UK the various air ambulance services are funded entirely by donations alone, so if you can get funding for drones you can have 20 drones for each helicopter (just an example). You can also fit a drone in more spaces than a helicopter, it costs much less to get a drone than a helicopter and of course the response time would be quicker. As for defribs in buildings, I'm not 100% sure but if you work in a large enough building they have security of some sort who will have some form of medical supplies. Maybe not a full defib kit granted but enough to keep you alive and get you to within access. Also I think this point is pretty redundant anyway, an air ambulance or ordinary ambulance has the same issues as a drone would. You can't fly a helicopter to the elevator and down to the X floor, and you can't drive an ambulance through the front foyer into an elevator either (although I'd start paying the NHs if they did this lol), the difference being you can scramble a drone and have it on scene a lot quicker. Just some speculations.
  9. Have you ever walked up to a hospital, gone into the staff only areas, climbed onto the roof and stolen a defibrillator? This drone would not be sat in the middle of the street, it would be on stand-by at some form of medical centre waiting to be used. It would also likely get it's power from there as I'm assuming it's not got a 2-stroke petrol engine in it. (and even if it did it would need petrol...duh) If the doctor/telephone operative was able to view the camera and monitor the systems on the drone obviously he, or another operator, would be flying it too, otherwise you're relying on telling a small robotic blender to navigate a city on it's own without getting confused by changes that take place every second. You can't do that, AI currently doesn't allow for a camera based drone to navigate it's surroundings that efficiently. It wouldn't be "please go outside, the drone is nearly there" it would instead be "err...I'm sorry love, the drone hit a tree, killed a cat and got stuck. Oh and because we wasted our time with this if we sent an ambulance now your dad would already be dead. Sorry" My point being, they would fly it back not leave it in the street. More on topic, drones are being deployed in lots of situations. Amazon uses them for drone deliveries, as far as I know only a select few states have this and even then it's entirely experimental. I'd be interested to see how robotics can advance in this field, in this day and age an ambulance can't get to you in less than 10 minutes because of traffic (this is a wild guess based on average response times) so seeing a drone get to you from a pre-selected medical "outpost" with drone capabilities is kind of cool. However this has a MASSIVE issue with it, and that is the reliance on someone having medical experience and the nerve to not go "oh shit oh shit oh shit my dad's dying oh god, what do I do what's this, oh fuck I broke it, oh god he's dying! ARGHW$HEG PDRToi4ei6onnjrytfkhr"
  10. I don't really watch tv. So technically speaking 100% of the shows I watch are Top Gear. The christmas special was amazing, I agree. But the problem with Top Gear UK is they've been slowly reducing the size of the series, each one lasting a couple of episodes and then a 2 part "special". Maybe they'll make a longer lasting series this year. Who knows. I'll be watching though :)
  11. The majority of free screen capture software have watermarks or record limits of like 30 seconds per clip (and then you have to manually re-capture every 30 seconds). As has been suggested shadowplay is the only option for good free software, but if it's not available to you then you can't use it obviously. I use Mirillis Action which is pretty damn good for paid software, you could also try looking for open source streaming software and see if it has recording options. I don't condone using cracked copies of software, if you were doing recording and planned to try and make something of it pay for it. The cost will be balanced out over time.
  12. If the law still takes into account the video evidence then ok, the way you initially worded it seemed as if the officer's word protected him from such evidence. Your deduction would be 100% correct, I have not got nor will ever want firearms training. I'm one of those who firmly believes you don't need firearms to get by in this world, as is evident by the fact we do exactly that in the UK. We get by without them. But for sake of saving argument and derailment we'll not go down the "guns are good/guns are bad" discussion. To each their own and so on. This is where the UK differs from the US then, because in the UK you can only plead self defence if the force used was justified, and even then you're not exempt from killing someone. In fact...let me find my legal notes, I had to do an exam on self defence....where are they.... Ah, here we go: "A person may use such force as is reasonable in the circumstances in the prevention of crime". So here, you cannot kill someone in self defence, you'll still be prosecuted (under a lesser charge of manslaughter, rather than murder), if the jury believe the force was reasonable. And obviously because we don't allow firearms here in any sense, a firearm as a self defence is not reasonable. Please don't think I'm being critical and suggesting US policing is wrong here. As you very rightly say, different cultures different experiences. I just personally think even given the US policing, that he could have perhaps made a different decision and not killed the man. If his mindset wasn't "he's a known criminal oh he might shoot me, I should defend myself" and instead was more a case of "I should attempt to negotiate and keep control of the suspect even if he so chooses to leave the vehicle." then we might be seeing a much more pleasing outcome to this scenario, would you not agree? Well....define "normal human being". The thing here is like you've said, different cultures. My survival instinct would be considerably different to yours because I live in a country where we don't allow guns, and as such this level of using deadly force as a necessary action is way beyond what I consider necessary.
  13. This I do agree with. Which is where my issue lies, if the law is so hopelessly vague like this what's to stop an officer from brutally murdering someone and saying "I felt threatened, honest". The video evidence should be used, in a court evidence is key otherwise you've got the word of 1 against others. The guy is now dead, he can't testify against the officer. So this officer gets way with killing someone. If the video evidence was used (and for simplicity sake let's say it was 100% clear the officer did not need to shoot) then that officer would get punished, which is lawful. At least in my eyes. At no point did either of us specify the exact situation, nor was "America" ever mentioned. If you look carefully you said "if your life was on the line" not "If you were this police officer", and I said "If I was a police officer" not "If I was a US cop". And just for completeness, suppose I WAS a US cop. Why should I be willing to use force against someone? Lethal force to the extent of 6 or so bullets I should add. That's disgusting to even consider. I mean think about that for a second, it's a crime to kill someone but when a police officer does it suddenly it's ok because he has a badge and he is required to use lethal force? I can't come to terms with that I'm afraid. But then I never really have agreed with US policing, because I'm not American and thus it doesn't make sense to me. Correct, I can only speculate, but I can speculate on how I would react more than you can by matter of the fact we have no idea who each other are, would you agree? Which is why I say you're wrong to assume that I would "not take the chance" as you suggested. Fair comment? Sorry, perhaps I should have specified I was referring to those commenting that exact sentence in respect to the given scenario rather than as a generalisation. That's an error on my behalf.
  14. We're not living the moment though are we, so it's perfectly relevant. In an investigation do you think they will say "video evidence? No let's go off gut instinct" This is why I said "I agree with those saying that the officer was acting in a very difficult situation, yes he did give clear orders, yes he did have a split second to decide." Please don't take what I say out of context. "If it was your life on the line"....Actually this is where you're 100% wrong. Factually wrong. Why? Because I'm so heavily against guns, the usage of guns, the views that guns make people safe. And I'm very much against any form of violence too. If I was in such a situation the last thing I would have is a gun, and the last thing I would do is shout "if you move I will shoot you". The way this officer reacted and the way I would react if I was a police officer are worlds apart. So you've been pulled over as a known convicted felon with a gun in your glove compartment right? That's what you're saying. You are assuming again, you can't argue that you're not. Yes alright you've been in a similar situation, but not the exact same situation. And therefore you're applying one experience to something else. The average law abiding citizen cannot possibly say they know what is going through the mind of a criminal because they are not one. You can only assume what this person was experiencing.
  15. I hate everything about this news article. "Officer shoots black man" "but the officer is black" OH SHIT BOYY IT'S ABOUT TO GO DOOWWWNNNN. [insert dramatic gopher, or surprised hamster here] Why in this day and age do we put so much on a person's ethnicity, race, religious beliefs etc? An officer, shot another person. Not "black cop shoots black man". Regardless, I agree with those saying that the officer was acting in a very difficult situation, yes he did give clear orders, yes he did have a split second to decide. But I also agree with those that he made the wrong choice. For those saying "he could have been ready to attack the officer" yes, could have been. But open the video in full screen and keep pausing the video every second, paying VERY close attention to the movement. He gets out of the car, hands already up before he's even out. Hands still up when he gets shot at least 5 or 6 times. THAT is unjustified. Ok so he disobeyed an order, you give him a new one to turn around with his hands up not shoot him. This officer has a nasty trigger finger, not a well thought out response. Now for those of you who immediately jump on the "if a cop points a gun at you and says don't move, would you move?" well you can't assume the answer would be no, otherwise you're countering your own argument. This situation is panicked for both the officers and the suspects, this isn't one sided. If someone starts shouting "stay there, don't move or I will shoot you" you're not going to remain calm and collected and go "ok officer sure" your heart will be racing just as much as the officer's is. In that time he made a decision to get out of the car (maybe to attack the officer, maybe to turn and face the car, maybe to get on the ground, stop assuming he was going for a kill). Interesting food for thought here....if you have to resort to shouting, you've already lost control of the situation. EDIT: I just watched the video on the BBC website (audio quality is better) Quote: "I'm gonna open the door and get on the ground"
  16. Interesting, I'm not the only person who really liked World at War, please tell me you found the easter eggs in the Nazi Zombies maps and rocked out to the epic soundtrack too... Best Games: Call of Duty 4 (Original Modern Warfare) Call of Duty: World at War Grand Theft Auto Series (except for V, story below) Just Cause (1 and 2) The Sims 2 (complete pack) Saints Row (1 and 2) Far Cry (3 and 4) Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag Battlefield (BC2, 3 and 4) Rise of Nations: Gold Age of Empires (2 and 3) Bioshock Infinite Dishonoured Plenty of "good" games that could make this list, but nothing that impressed me as much as these. Worst Games: Call of Duty: Black Ops (This game made me leave the CoD scene) Saints Row IV (yep, funny, but they went too far and ruined the series) Hitman Absolution (Used to be a huge fan, this game ran like shit though) SimCity (The newest one, as per usual EA games are looking more and more like mobile ports, this is why I haven't bothered with TS4) Why GTA V is not in my "Best Games": I played the original PS3 version when it first came out, I loved the game a lot. But it was not the best experience with me using an old tv, additionally I never enjoyed GTA multiplayer that much, I played RP servers with Vice City and never did since then really. With GTA V being mostly about it's new Online mode I sort of lost interest after completing the story. When the PC version comes out I'll probably enjoy it again.
  17. It's only set to be controlled by the mouse movement on the y-axis rather than via the scroll wheel, mouse movement is locked to the QAM while open AFAIK. Although having it use the scroll wheel would be nice. It should be displayed in the first option menu provided (yellow one) as the second option is Partner interaction and the third is speech. You have to aim at the vehicle in the checkpoint using the ALT key (remember that little red/white square that pops up?) So, to clarify: Hold ALT and aim the white square at the vehicle in the checkpoint (it should go red when over the car), Open the QAM with CapsLock (while still ALT aiming at the car) and then use the mouse to select the option to wave the vehicle through. Some of the QAM options are conditional, in other words they only display if you're doing something to cause them to display, like aiming at a ped or a vehicle with ALT. It wouldn't make any difference if they made them or if the API plugins did. All callouts done by the API plugins like Callouts+, WoutersCallouts and TheWasteland get managed by the LCPDFR engine in the exact same way that the internal callouts are managed. The crashing issues are not because it's an API callout but because of a bug or problem with the callout's code itself (this could happen with LCPDFR callouts in the same way). This is something you should report to the respective developers because we can't fix it if we don't know it's broken. The dev's made an API for a reason, so people like myself could make new callouts and features that integrate with LCPDFR itself. Only the partners should be using the flashlight as it was an experimental feature as far as I am aware, so to turn it off simply...don't use a partner. I know that sucks but at least it's a temporary solution.
  18. I'm judging....I'm judging big time. My home page is google because it always has been. Deal with it.
  19. I will be, but that's not going to be moddable for a few months after the release so I'll still be around modding GTA IV until we migrate over (if possible). And yes, running 1.0d1 and dismissing vehicles definitely causes those issues. That's not an error caused by my plugin directly, it's a pretty generic error when modding.
  20. As I said.... "it's also made it so I can explore more functionality with them as I'm no longer restricted." You'll just have to wait and see :P
  21. I would have made a hotfix release myself to ensure compatibility but I've been working on such a massive overhaul of the paramedic, tow truck and removal team that I actually don't see it a wise choice to go back to the old methods. I've seen a massive improvement in these during testing, it's also made it so I can explore more functionality with them as I'm no longer restricted.
  22. It may well be an issue with 1.0d(1). The latest release of Callouts+ was built on 1.0d not the hotfix so it could just be a little glitch that stops it working properly.
  23. I've not had any issues running the mod on the new patch but then I run the version that is compiled on the newest patch so probably just a minor compatibility issue. I'm sorry it's causing issues. I wont be making a new release yet, it's my birthday in 2 days and then 3 days after that my exams start. Once my exams are finished I can continue to work on the plugin. New feature needs a lot more time investing into it which is why I've postponed the next release. (I had hoped to have it ready for this patch) I've also began work on a new callout which works fine now but I want to add a lot more to it.
