JohnLocke22 reacted to Sam in Why was Ultimate Backup Removed?Be the change that you want to see. If you think there's something that you can do that people would like, then do it and share it.
That's exactly what StopThePed started off as - someone wanted to add more/different interactions with peds, so they did it.
Maybe people overthink about this. We make a mod. Other people make mods, and we make an effort to make both of these things compatible. It's why mods like StopThePed even exist in the first place. What's the fun in us trying to do everything ourselves when there are talented people out there, like you mention, who can make things too?
And to address the original topic, I think this whole situation is regrettable. There are many people in the GTA modding community who would do better to keep their negativity and overzealous criticism to themselves. There are others who would certainly do better not to take so seriously the words of a few internet trolls.
If we let ourselves be knocked down a step every time someone said something critical or bad about us, we'd have been stomped away into a different galaxy by now.
But we don't, we just keep doing our thing.

JohnLocke22 reacted to Ragnrok in Still waiting...Honestly, I dont know what happened, and I dont really care. You people are the undisputed queens of drama. The vast majority are completely incapable of simply communicating their issues in a civilized, intelligent manner, and certainly incapable of having any patience at all with a staff that does this entirely in their free time. I get people are upset over something, but going on a rant and attacking staff is simply not the answer. Grow up and have some patience.

JohnLocke22 reacted to navdata in Still waiting...TL:DR;
Bunch of dudes get triggered after their mods got ripped and outraged at G17 staff for "not protecting their files"
The staff thinks that it is impossible to protect peoples files on a public website
People want to make it private but sam said that its not going to change
(Personally, I think if some modders can't take the risk of file getting stolen on a public website, gtfo and quit modding)

JohnLocke22 reacted to Sam in Still waiting...Do you even know what you're talking about? We investigate every report that is submitted towards us and take action when our rules are broken.
We already explained that Discord and FiveM are outside of our control.

JohnLocke22 reacted to t0y in Still waiting...Hey guys sorry to interrupt!
I fully understand how bad it is to get your mods stolen, ripped, leaked, whatever it may be, and from the perspective of a modder I understand all the outrage with the ripping that has been going on in both FR and the modding community in general.
However, what actually do you think the FR staff can do about this? Honestly, tell me what you think they can do to stop all ripping in the FR community. There is no answer, and the answer certainly isn't moving all your mods to a different website... That's just... fucking stupid. You still mod for the LSPDFR mod, and every one of you started with FR so let's not forget that, and maybe try to work together with the staff to try and stop it? Idfk that's just what im thinking as a concerned third party!

JohnLocke22 reacted to Jedahdiah in Still waiting...As I said previous post.
Hi I'm Jedahdiah, and I'm a dramatic developer and I'd like to join this dramatic developer anonymous group.
Interesting though that the staff on the site want to keep closing topics that are saying the site doesn't support modders.
First, staff called us stupid and dramatic, and now they think censoring us by closing topics is a good idiots to silence us?
An excellent tactic. If only the French thought of that in the war.

JohnLocke22 reacted to KaneJr in Radiance V or make visuals great again?I was using Radiance V then switched to Realistic Radiance, because I felt Radiance V was too bright and then I switched back to Radiance V when I got ELS. Radiance V with ELS looks absolutely amazing and realistic compared to my real life emergency lights.

JohnLocke22 reacted to Sam in LSPDFR+ Crashes after 3 license checks? We strongly recommend installing 0.4 without any other mods or plugins. You should gradually add things back to see what works and doesn't.

JohnLocke22 reacted to Sam in My thoughts on 0.4It isn't compatible for old game versions for the same reason that RPH isn't compatible for old game versions. It isn't some dastardly evil thing that we devised while sitting in a darkened room thinking of creative ways that we could mess with people. It is instead, a simple challenge of technical feasibility. We can't support old game versions because when the game version changes, literally everything about the game from a programming perspective also changes. It is the reason why everything breaks when the game updates. I hope you'll understand that from a technical perspective, LSPDFR is a very complicated piece of work. We do not simply choose not to support old game versions - it is a mere matter of feasibility and take it from me, it's not feasible.
Any problems that you have with a modded installation of the game are absolutely nothing to do with us. We make a mod for Grand Theft Auto V, not your altered beyond recognition copy of Grand Theft Auto V.
Anything else is a bonus.

JohnLocke22 reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.4 - Coming February, 2019I mean... something must have caused this error with the LSPDFR 0.3 page, right?
-
If you're lucky enough to still have Stop the Ped, it works in 0.4. Since Smart Police Radio doesn't work yet, you just have to use the built in menu..."G" i think...to get the coroner and tow trucks.
-
We have EMS in 0.4. They can be called from the backup menu Code 3 and will attempt to revive nearby casualties. They are improved quite a bit since 0.3 as well and should be able to deal with dead people inside cars too (which is usually quite funny).

JohnLocke22 reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.4 - Official Discussion TopicObviously we want everyone to be focused on 0.4, so this isn't something we will support officially. Nonetheless, I'd rather you get the files from us than have to go searching somewhere else, so I've attached the files for 0.3.1 below.

JohnLocke22 reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.4 API UpdateNo objections per se, it's just not something that was ever meant to work in the first place as our traffic stops were only designed for vehicles. How does it work anyway? Do you do stuff when a boat gets pulled over?

Feel free to add.Disclaimer: I can't guarantee these will work universally across the board, but these are the plugins and callouts that I have working in my game personally. Remember to always make a backup. I am not liable for your broken game.
Keep in mind to remain grateful as this is a modification we are playing free of charge. We are literally just over 12 hours into 0.4's release, so time is needed for authors to make the proper adjustments to their mods for implementation from 0.3.
Also, please do not include any visual or audio modifications as these should be irrelevant to the version of LSPDFR being played.

JohnLocke22 reacted to LMS in LSPDFR 0.4 API UpdateWith LSPDFR 0.4 the API received a few minor changes in terms of the Persona class, which might require recompilation on your end. While there are not many new additions to the API just yet, we hope to change that soon with our next minor update. We ask you to bear with us for a little bit longer before we expand our API functionalities.
As for additions for newly introduced 0.4 features, we ask you to provide some feedback here in the thread on what you would like to see. We have showcased scenarios in one of our announcements and still plan to make the available shortly. In short, a scenario takes over control during a chase or a traffic stop to provide unique behavior. During a scenario, it has full control over all entities. Another useful addition will probably be frisking and the ability to place items on peds, that can then be found, much like we had it in LCPDFR.
Thanks for your patience and all the work you have done.

JohnLocke22 reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.4 - Now AvailableFirst time playing 0.4? Check out our new getting started guide for LSPDFR 0.4: https://www.lcpdfr.com/wiki/lspdfr/04/getting-started/
About a year ago, we announced the development of LSPDFR 0.4. We said it was big, and we said it was different, but I honestly don't think any of us quite imagined just how big and different it would turn out to be, nor how much of a challenge it would be to take the concepts and ideas that we had and turn them into reality.
Still, here we are. Thousands of changes later, we're here. Everyone on the team is delighted to announce the first public release of LSPDFR 0.4, available now.
LSPDFR 0.4 brings sweeping changes which have been implemented over a number of years, so much so that we're not able to provide full release notes. Instead, we've put together a number of resources, new to LSPDFR 0.4, including a 'wiki' and a collection of more in-depth guides.
Note as well that because of this - the sheer number of things that have changed - there will be issues. We've put over two months into testing 0.4, and we've made hundreds of fixes in this time. Still, there's undoubtedly going to be things that we've missed, or things that simply can't be tested in a controlled environment. This is a big release, and we wanted to do right by all of you by getting it out as soon as we can.
With that being said, I'll shut up now and let the mod speak for itself.
LSPDFR 0.4 Page: https://www.lcpdfr.com/lspdfr
LSPDFR 0.4 Wiki: https://www.lcpdfr.com/wiki/lspdfr/04
Note that we strongly recommend installing LSPDFR 0.4 for the first time on a clean copy of Grand Theft Auto V with no other mods or plugins.
