I agree with you. You DO have a right to state your opinion, no matter what it may be. Now let me put the your shoe on my foot for a second here. You said the following in the above quoted post: I'd like to share with you that although this topic caught my attention and I opened it, I initially had no intention on replying. With your theory, I am a racist. It doesn't apply to me, and frankly I don't want to bother wasting my time saying "oh, so sad", because it's redundant. Plenty of other people know so, plenty of other people will say it. And don't get me wrong, the fact of the matter is that this is sad, it is wrong on so many levels and if I were the teacher I would file a lawsuit against the school system for wrongful termination. I'd even go as far as finding a lawyer to intimidate the school into enacting strict anti-bullying policies. It applies to me and many others. But here's where your little "let it fly" charm falls into play. Now that you've proved your own bigotry by assuming at least 140,000 people on this site are racist and then accusing us of being racist for not posting, you're getting way more attention than you originally expected. And it's pretty negative attention. Then, you turn around and say this: First, you smile. Then, you say that none of these posts should apply to you because it's not directly referencing the original post. or, in other words, you're saying "well, it's not applying to me, and you should all let it fly. I can't stand by my own words, and therefore, I will deflect." You're wrong. Very, very wrong. The original post was designed to spark a conversation between members related to the subject matter at hand - racism and bigotry in society today. The only thing you did was bring bigotry to everyone's attention when you called me, and everyone else a racist, because you thought we wouldn't post. Don't believe me? check the last time I posted something on LCPDFR. It was over three months ago.
