I, for one, accept and embrace friendly fire. You never know when one of your so-called "pals" is going to step out of line, and corrective measures must be taken.

I appreciate that you guys are putting so much effort into developing this mod, the mod loader and RDRFR. Although I don't have the time to try them out right now (summer cannot come fast enough!), it's still nice to see new features and fixes from you guys.

Hi everyone! Since it looks like that many of us will be stuck at home for a while (the record numbers at LCPDFR.com suggest not everyone is taking home-office too seriously...), we would like to do our part in fighting isolation and boredom and provide you with a new update. While we are not quite ready to release our next major update yet, we have been busy over the past few days to come up with a few additions and fixes that we hope you will enjoy.

Get your revenge on escaped suspects!
One feature that has been requested quite a few times is re-encountering escaped suspects. We had originally planned to release this among a greater rework of callouts but managed to include a first version in 0.4.7 already. Every suspect that was able to escape during a pursuit now has a chance to be encountered again. While the chances are higher around the position the suspect was last seen it could be anywhere on the map. A subtle minimap flash will indicate a nearby suspect. If you get close to the vehicle, a small blip will appear and the suspect will try to flee if you continue to approach. We hope this gives you a bit of realism as well as help you get your revenge on your nemeses. At the same time we believe there are many ways this can be improved in the future, such as changing vehicles, spawning them in different scenarios, encountering suspects in a traffic stop and more. The feature and frequency can be managed via ini settings.

How many rolls of toilet paper are you carrying?
Frisking has also received some improvements. We added many new items that can be found such as car keys or wallets. In addition, the Covid-19 scare did not leave ordinary citizens of Los Santos unaffected and you are more likely to find items such as hand sanitizer or wet wipes on them. These special items can be disabled via the ini.

Hoarder or just careful? People in Los Santos are not unaffected by the Covid-19 outbreak

I don't particularly fancy saying which force, sorry! It's a mostly rural force, I am based in a city. The workload really varies. Some days you will have plenty of cops, not a 'lot' of jobs, etc., and some days you're having to send inspectors to response jobs.

First time playing 0.4?  Check out our new getting started guide for LSPDFR 0.4: https://www.lcpdfr.com/wiki/lspdfr/04/getting-started/

About a year ago, we announced the development of LSPDFR 0.4.  We said it was big, and we said it was different, but I honestly don't think any of us quite imagined just how big and different it would turn out to be, nor how much of a challenge it would be to take the concepts and ideas that we had and turn them into reality.

Still, here we are.  Thousands of changes later, we're here.  Everyone on the team is delighted to announce the first public release of LSPDFR 0.4, available now.

LSPDFR 0.4 brings sweeping changes which have been implemented over a number of years, so much so that we're not able to provide full release notes.  Instead, we've put together a number of resources, new to LSPDFR 0.4, including a 'wiki' and a collection of more in-depth guides.

Note as well that because of this - the sheer number of things that have changed - there will  be issues.  We've put over two months into testing 0.4, and we've made hundreds of fixes in this time.  Still, there's undoubtedly going to be things that we've missed, or things that simply can't be tested in a controlled environment.  This is a big release, and we wanted to do right by all of you by getting it out as soon as we can.

With that being said, I'll shut up now and let the mod speak for itself.

    LSPDFR 0.4 Wiki: https://www.lcpdfr.com/wiki/lspdfr/04

Note that we strongly recommend installing LSPDFR 0.4 for the first time on a clean copy of Grand Theft Auto V with no other mods or plugins.

This, I think this accurately represents this thread perfectly. It's not a conspiracy ad revenue earning gigglefest for the staff, It's just exploded as it's the last thread before the release thread. I don't think the staff could have predicted the level of attention it's gotten.

I think it is extremely negative of you to think that the staff are rubbing their hands together laughing at everyone getting frustrated, or for more traffic to be created. Instead the devs are hard at work trying to polish off this amazing update, so that when it is released it will be almost perfect, with extremely rare crashes or major bugs. This requires many hours from us testers, then from the devs to iron out any kinks that may be within the mod.
Things are being implemented that have not even been mentioned within any of the release posts that Sam has made. These features need to be thoroughly checked. LMS, Sam and Cyan do not do things half-arsed and only release something once it has been tested, checked and re-checked to ensure that you, the player base, have the best enjoyment from the mod.
There is no fixed release date as (if you ask many developers) anything can crop up at anytime, but trust me. Everyone is working their asses off this update to be released...

I hope this allows people to chill their beans

I mean, what we play isn't the release version. We're not playing it primarily for entertainment, we're playing to find bugs. We're testing all sorts of things one might conjure up to do in the mod plus a lot more, to make sure you guys have a bug-free experience.
