  1. Tunnel vision is caused by adrenaline and is not more susceptible to U.S. cop's than European cop's. And because you go into a situation prepared for the worst does not mean that you are more susceptible to shoot someone. If you do not approach a situation with the mindset of it going south in the split of a second, then you are setting yourself up for failure and that may cost you your life and that is unacceptable.
  2. When it comes to the xxx-miles of land that is being patrolled, it is mainly rural area's. A issue is funding, but, another primary issue is people's location. The surrounding countryside, outside my county, it is not uncommon for 2 people to be 1/2 a mile to a mile or more from there closest neighbor so that makes long response time's. I get what you are saying about the Police being the one's that Protect and Serve, but in reality it is just impossible to have a large enough police force to be every half block from each other. Protection starts with the indevidual. I live in the city and always have, the response time's here are 2-5 minutes for a violent incident. In my first incident of using a gun for self defence, it took 5 mins for the police to arive. If police could protect all of us then there would be no murder, assault, or rape. I will tell you, first hand, that when you have 10 seconds available, you dont want to wait 30+ secs to a minute for them to arive. I just want to get home alive and safe.
  3. How does a Police officer protect you if He/She arrives after the fact? And law enforcement officials were created to enforce the law, not protect people. That has never been, and will never be the job of law enforcement officers. Protect and serve is propaganda designed to make you submit.
  4. Are you discounting all the time's that a civilian stopped criminals?, murders?, people attacking innocent civilians? Or police officer's? Kinda like the Arizona State Trooper? Law Enforcement official's are not the only hero's or thw only one's that must deal with stopping an individual with lethal or non lethal means.
  5. This topic is about murder rates, and from what I have found out is that London does have a lower "YEARLY" murder rate, witch is what counts here, not monthly rates. The only time that London surpassed 200 people being murdered since 1990 is in 2003. New York City has only gone below the 300 murdered rate once since 1928 and that number is 290 in 2017. New York City has a population of 8.5 million people while London has a population of 8.6 million people (2017 reported). That means that in London you are less likely to be killed as compaired to New York City. I did not and will not go thru the individual case's into how these 490 people died, may it be gang related,or medical malpractice with use by a gun, bat, knife, frying pan, or lion statue. What I am finding interesting here is that from 2003-2014, London had a great and steady decline in murder rates, but now it is on a upward climb. I am curious as to why that is happening and will look onto that more when I have more time, unless there was a change in something that one of you may know. On the other side of the pond, in New York City, they have seen a great decline since 1990 with 2,245 murders to 290 murders in 2017 and I find that extremely drastic. Even compared to London's murder drop. This is not about Guns, The Revolutionary War, England's Constitutional Monarchy, The United States Constitutional Republic, knives, frodo, or the Eiffel Tower. It is about a murder rate accross to city's in two countries on different sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
  6. .. Mental illness is overall difficult to understand, even by the professional's, and yes people dont understand it but primarily people do not know how to go about dealing with it. Also I wouldn't say that parent's want to throw there child on pills and hope that it fixes them, they are taking a doctor's advice and recommendation on what to do with there child. Key word "DOCTOR" One thing I continuously see almost week is that alot of people do not want to be treated and if someone does not want to be treated there is not much that you can do without a judge's order to make them get help. Treatment for most people is usually beer and drug's, I see it every morning at 6-7 at the gas station. I have taken people to the mental health clinic and it takes at least 3 days to a week to somewhat diagnose them. The problem is that they will tell you to your face that they want help and less than 2r hour's later they ar back on the street where you found them. Mental expert's have failed us, before, and to leave the decisions up to them is, in most people's eyes, dangerous.
  7. Umm... There is empathy and understanding torward these people and we have learned a great deal about mental health. But that is not the issue. The issue lies with the mental health professionals and individuals not allowing a mental health professional to diagnose the fully so that they may get help. I put this on another topic but it applies here. It is sad about the trust with psychologist but it is a fair and reasonable position that we are in. Maybe with the next generation of politician's we may get unfounded and unwarranted trust back in them. http://www.nytimes.com/1984/10/30/science/how-release-of-mental-patients-began.html?pagewanted=all The 7th and 8th paragraph will say a lot on the issue of mental illness decisions. This is just a link to the distrust that flows around the mental heath debate that many of the new generation do not know about, or they refuse to look at. Mental heath is a major issue in society period. But in the case of enacting laws that will go on the books, and more than likely never get off, everyone needs to be smart about the subject and question anything and everything that could go wrong with the situation. So remember that, when you call for mental heath reform, you are allowing another individual that may be plagued by there own political belief (that includes religion) to make a decision that could determine your future. Also take in mind that someone could be perfectly fine one day and the next they can snap. It is extremely sad that ther are individuals out there that need help and do not have it and I wish that they would take the treatment that is available so they may get better. May this individual rest in peace.
  8. If someone is kicking you or hitting you, then yes that is some kind of weapon. And it does not make it easier on anyone when a life is taken. You will suffer severely with the decision threw ptsd, news outlets, vigilantes. It is sad that people loose there lives but you cannot ask someone to attempt to use something that may or may not work in order to stop a person that you have no idea what is up with them. It is not a wise idea under any circumstance to get into a fight with someone. If you think that "hey I'll be a man and just fist fight like a man" then wait for that 1 punch or kick to come in and kill you and the suspect to go free. I have seen it many times of that one hit, head bunt, or kick, knocking out, severely injuring, or killing someone. So yes this MAY be justified giving the information that we have.
  9. I did not say that this shooting was justified, I said that it may be justified. On the walking slower than you in the store argument, like I said when someone is 25 feet from you it takes only a second for them to dash to you. So if the officer attempted to transition then it would of been a great opportunity to charge the officer and catch him off gaurd. On the tazer option, would you want to trust your life on something that only work's part of the time? Especially when someone is right up on you? I don't want to get into the leg argument but I will. It is a stupid argument. When you shoot someone, you aim for center mass. You never attempt to try and shoot for a small target period. Tunnel vision, increased amount of stress does alot to someone. Ill get some link's to you explaining why people are hesitant to use tazers and also don't try to shoot people in the leg. Getting in a fight is not ideal. It is far more understood as to why people do what they do by people that have been in this situation. I personally will let you know that it is not like the movie's.
  10. This may be a justifiable shooting. The man continued to walk torwards the officer even after he was commanded about 10 times to get on the ground. It is clear that the man was mentally unstable, at least at the moment. You cannot forget that fist, feet, arms and legs are weapons and that tazers do not work all of the time. By attempting to transition from his firearm to his tazer could of cost the officer his life or he could of suffered bodily injury. You do NOT have to be on drugs to be a danger. You do NOT have to have a weapon to be a threat. Just because the man was non combative at the beginning does not mean that he would have not been. He was moving torward the officer at a decent speed and you must understand that at 25 feet, from someone, it only takes a second to reach them. And the officer was applying cpr at the end of the video so I doubt that he was a trigger happy American cop that wanted to murder people. I wonder what the 911 call was about leading the officer to show up? When the officer did show up, the suspect was being somewhat combative torward a civilian. Pepper spray, night sticks, tazers, amd teddy bear's are not reliable solutions to stop a threat. He was a threat.
  11. U.S. War crimes? What orders have been givin to the soldiers that are along the line of war crimes? Mass rape? I must have missed something. Do you mean like what the Japanese and Russian troops did? Or even ISIS/Desh?
  12. https://www.islamictribunal.org/about-it/ Here you go. They contradict everything they appear to want. Just read I do not have a religion. My entire family is religious, all of them being of different religion's.
  13. Yes freedom is "ALWAYS" a Great idea. Without freedom you are no more than a slave. Life Liberty And the Pursuit of Happiness
  14. Actually, there are force's in the U.S. that are trying actively to make sharia law legal and enforceable. I know for a fact that in my state they attempted this and it failed. In Texas they attempted it on a local level and it was rejected. So yes, there are Muslims that are trying to make everyone do everything that you mentioned. If they were to succeed, then they would impede upon the freedoms and right's of everyone. I am extremely curious and must ask this question. Have any of you ever been to the middle east where the Qur'an is the law? And I am not talking about the tourist sections of the country's that employ it as there law's but the real parts of the places.
  15. The Christians responded and started the Crusades after learning word of mass Genocide that the Muslims were committing in the whole of the middle east and north Africa. You really need to learn history before you speak of it. Islam has never and will never preach peace because the Qur'an does not preach peace.
  16. Actually those are not human right's, those are legal right's. Human right's are natural, legal right's are man made. It was not an opinion, that I made, but a fact. Law's may say one thing, but the definition of it is what matters. And in the U.S. everyone can legally recive healthcare and cannot be denied that.
  17. Those are not right's, those are services that someone else must privide by either being payed for, or forced to provide. You talk about health care, well ill tell you this, in 2007 my health care was $75.00 and today (after the afordible care act) they are wanting $500.00 a month, and I have no medical issues, they want over $1,000 for my wife. I don't have insurance because of the government mandate. I would rather be fined $1,200 a year than pay that amout for health care. Healthcare is not a right, it is a service that someone else must provide.
  18. https://youtu.be/VfQb4JHaxos Can you tell me the portion about peace that this Intel's? Chechnya has some good examples of what the religion is like. So does Sadi Arabia. If you are for human rights, you should be against this religions teachings. You can say what you want about Christians but they are not known to do hanis act's of evil. If a Christian does do a act of evil then they are condemned.
  19. Have you read it? He is not the issue, the issue is the vast amount of radicals that are sworn to this religion and would do harm to anyone that would oppose it. Do not get me wrong, there is a extremely large amount of Muslims that are peaceful, but there is an extremely large amout of Muslims that are not. It is the radical portion that people do not like. That portion should be destroyed.
  20. Have you ever thought of posting the stories that tell of the good that has been done with guns, instead of always posting about the bad thing's that happen?
  21. I just wanted to touch off on the subject of all of you people saying that we are too attached to a 250 year old book/ paper. You say that it is not practical in this modern age, that times change, well look up this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Athens_(1946). It happened not that long ago. And don't forget about this https://www.cnn.com/2017/04/28/us/la-riots-korean-americans/index.html Tell me what would of happened in your country if this was done? We are too attached to a piece of paper yet you people kneel to kings and queens, dictators and chancellor's, Genocidal maniacs, and criminals.
  22. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girandoni_air_rifle This rifle could fire more than 3 rounds a minute. The Austrian military equipped a portion of there there troops with this gun. So your argument is trash. The way that I look at it, and the way that it was made, is that the use and ownership of weapons "period" is for self preservation. The U.S. is a country that does not bow to anyone, it is a defiant nation. If you want to ban guns, then looking at the federal government to do it is the wrong way. You would have to go to the state level of government, if it's State Constitution permits it, to ban them. If you want the federal government to ban them, then you would have to ratify the the Constitution of the United States. People should realize that the State's are there own country, to be frank, and the United States Government is a Union that unites the State's. To me, and to millions of other's in this country, owning a firearm is for self preservation from evil people and government, speaking freely without the worry of imprisonment, practicing any religion without a government denying that religion, demanding a warrant prior to searches is a fair example of freedom that alot of you people in the rest of the world do not have. All that you are saying, when you want government to do something for you, is that you do not know how to live your life at all. And wanting to control the way other's live there life is a form of insanity. And if you trust your government you are a fool. If you do not trust your Government, yet you want to give them more power, you are a fool.
  23. It is different, to me, that people in this church bring there rifle with them to pray. I do not, however, think that it is wrong. I see this more as a statement, to would be murderers, that if they enter this building with the intent to do harm to innocent people, that they will have a fight on there hands. I do not go anywhere without my gear knowing that at any moment someone could wish to do harm to other's. And to Giordano, If you think that what Germany has is what the U.S. needs, then you should probably come to and live where I live. You will soon find out that good people need these guns, and I mean all of them. Could you imagine what would of happened if the racist cop's would of done to the blacks in the south if they knew who had guns? More dead black people.
