Just a thought, but have you guys considered having houses use the same system as stations (XML files)? This way, instead of everyone requesting that one specific house they want, they could just add their own in the file with custom name, coordinates for the entry point, the car save point, and the name of the interior to which they should be teleported (along with a handy reference list of available interiors).

I vaguely remember seeing some Del Perro, Rockford Hills and Davis/West Vinewood-specific LSSD units in Yard1's gallery a while ago. They might have been for personal use and not part of a future RDE release though...

Technically, the La Mesa/Cypress Flats area could also have its own department based on the Vernon, CA police (the water tower in La Mesa is based on Vernon's)

But then again, that would leave very few areas on the map for the LSPD to spawn...

Not sure about the coronas thing - I don't think it's a bug - but I'm pretty sure the non-flashing red lights are there by design, this is based on the real-life California law that states that emergency vehicles must have a steadily lit red light.

If anyone's interested, I just took a peek at the new vehicles with Open IV.

Coming soon to your single player game near you once RPH and/or SHV + your favorite trainer have been updated:
Alpha 1Z: WW2-style fighter, likely based on the Supermarine Spitfire Bombushka: Medium-size 50s-60s soviet cargo plane (or bomber), loosely based on the Antonov AN-12 Coil Cyclone: Sports car, not sure based on what exactly - maybe a Zenvo ST1 Havok: Single-seat helicopter, likely based on the Mosquito XE Howard: WW2-style single-seater, although its features seem a little exaggerated, suggesting it may be a stunt plane. Not sure what's the real-life equivalent. Hunter: This one needs no introduction. AH-64 Apache helicopter, but with the tail of a RAH-66 Comanche... pretty cool concept. Microlight: The ultralight aircraft seen prominently in the trailers. Mogul: WW2-style small bomber with a bubble turret. Loosely based on the Lockheed Hudson. Molotok: Cold war era soviet fighter, based on the Mig-15 Nokota: WW2-style fighter, clearly based on the P-51 Mustang - not sure why they didn't call it the Rustler. Pyro: Twin-seater jet with a double tail - not sure what it's based on, but it looks like one of those late-WW2 german designs that never saw the light of day.  Dewbauchee Rapid GT (3 or "classic"): 70s sports car, based on the 1970s-1980s Aston Martin V8 Vantage Vapid Retinue: 70s compact rally car, based on a 1970s Ford Escort Mk1 Rogue : Twin-seater, single prop military trainer aircraft, loosely based on the Diamond DART 450 - it appears to have a Zancudo livery. Seabreeze: Twin-seater plane with a tail-mounted prop. Looks exotic, I'm not sure if it's based on something real. Starling: Late WW2 german concept plane, based on the Messerschmitt Comet Tula: That weird short WW2-style cargo plane with 4 props and supposedly VTOL capabilities seen in the trailers... Vigilante: Heavily based on the 1989 Batmobile, but with the Tumbler Batmobile's rear end. No, I'm not kidding. And yes, it has a friggin jet turbine. Grotti Visione: Exotic supercar based on the Ferrari Xezri concept.

    Howdy,
I suppose this will be a kind of a dev diary for 3.1. As NefariousBonne has said some time ago, 3.1 will mainly be a content update, introducing new car and ped models, as well as improving existing ones. Thanks to YMT edits, peds will not only be much more varied and detailed, but also better optimized and "neat" from technical perspective. Many ped models have gotten new components, such as improved bulletproof vests, belts, and so on. Many vehicles have received improved interiors and lighting, and some other tweaks.

But you all know that already. I would like to tell you about one new script feature we have been working on for some time now.

We call it the IncidentManager. This is a new system that allows cops to call backup during shootouts with NPCs. The backup units that spawn are the same that would spawn if a player was wanted, and zone-dependent as well. Furthermore, the response type and amount will be based on the severity of the incident. Not only that, but a rudimentary chase system has been implemented, which will allow cops to dynamically chase fleeing NPCs. IncidentManager allows for very dynamic and lively shootouts, and is for all intents and purposes a Wanted Level system for NPCs. It can be turned on and off in the ini.

A small new feature is that SSR (as a whole) can be turned on and off in game by pressing a specified (configurable) key combination. With SSR disabled, you can play LSPDFR and most story missions without any compatibility problems (note: this does not fix missions that crash).

Furthermore, some advanced optimizations have been performed on the script. We hope that this will alleviate some of the performance complaints we have gotten for 3.0.

3.1 has been delayed a lot, but we want to present you with finished, polished product. We continue to add new features and content daily, while testing for bugs and performance. We hope that we will be able to present RDE 3.1 to you soon.

Oh? Interesting... The V Premier seems kinda small to pass for an Impala (unless it underwent a major body overhaul), but I'll wait to see it... After all, the Gresley being used as a stand-in for the Ford Explorer Interceptor despite clearly being based on a Durango worked out surprisingly well.

Oh man, you really got me excited here!

Can't wait to see what you've got in store for the SAHP. I'd be especially thrilled to see the Uranus standing in for this classic:

I'm sorry, you're right, didn't mean to lash out. It's just that I'm starting to see this image pop up left and right, and I think it's undermining current efforts to establish a dialogue with Rockstar/Take Two by giving people the impression that their action was ultimately justified when that's not necessarily the case.

Given the current context, it's easy to assume that he's talking about Rockstar's code, but it could be a number of other things - code taken without permission from other unrelated programs or projects, or even code he wrote himself on company time for his employer, which would be "illegal" to use in a personal project even if he's the author as it's technically company property... not that these situations would be ok, but they wouldn't be T2's problem.  It could also be that he made up the "illegal" story just to have an excuse not to share the code with that other guy (who can't seem to take "no" for an answer).

I do think that the person who first circulated that image has an agenda. Given that it's from a personal convo, it sounds like a grudge for not sharing the source code with them back then. By the way, the date on that convo (Feb 2015) predates the release of GTA V on PC... someone who doesn't notice that in the heat of the moment might think the convo took place in the last few days and is a smoking gun that validates T2's actions.

Got a question for you guys... would it be possible (or maybe that's already planned for an upcoming version) to have police AI request backup when under fire from other AI?

I lost count of how many times I saw one or two cops in a brave but ultimately losing fight against a dozen Vagos or Ballas, with no other cops responding. Seems to me like in such a situation, police cars would soon be swarming from all directions to assist their pinned colleagues - I mean, they do if the player character so much as stands too close to a cop's face!

If it's possible to implement this kind of response (even if it's just sending a small preset amount of backup, e.g. 3-4 cars), it would certainly be a nice realistic touch.

Frankly, the Merit would also belong in the "too old" bin by now... it's based on the 8th-gen Impala, which was discontinued in 2005. Even on the civilian market, a lot of them have gone to the junkyard. I guess it makes sense for the SADCR - I know the real-life CA Corrections Dept has even been using 1st-gen (late 90's) Crown Vics until recently - and it kinda works with the USAF as a stand-in for the real-life 9th-gen Impala, but for any regular agencies that require heavy-duty use, it has exceeded its useful life long ago. Besides, I don't think the Impala has ever been very popular in California, as it was a front-wheel drive car. Both the CHP (8th-gen) and LAPD (9th-gen) seem to have had a handful of Impalas for evaluation purposes at some point, but never bought them in large fleets. As for the LASD, they used some 8th and 9th gen Impalas for Civilian Process Server units - all-white cars with no emergency lighting.

Speaking of "too old", have you guys ever considered a 90s expansion/conversion at some point? There are already plenty of good stand-ins from IV and V for a full 90s pack (1st gen Stanier, Premier/Caprice, Marbelle/LTD, even the Uranus and Ruiner would be pretty awesome as counterparts to the Mustang 5.0's and Camaros that the CHP used in active service back then)... just a thought.

I know there's a police Mesa somewhere but it's based on the jacked Merryweather version whereas the regular version would be a better fit, and there is a Dominator but it stopped getting updated before it could be properly finished.

Awesome! I've been waiting for something like this for a long time.
Here are a few questions I have:
1- Will those scripts be customizable to some extent to create further third-party addons? i.e. change the peds and vehicles spawning at existing police station (e.g. if someone wanted to add parked SWAT trucks or create Rockford Hills PD units for the Rockford Hills station) or even add whole new spawn locations (e.g. unmarked cars on a stakeout, private security spawn points at industrial sites, etc )?
2- Could the same principle be applied for ambulance and fire departments? (LS City/LS County/Blaine County FDs, spawning custom airport rigs at airport fire stations, hospital-specific ambulances, etc)
3- Will regionalized dispatch by neighborhood also be supported? I know LSPDFR and some user addons (custom backup) allow this when playing as a cop, but AFAIK when playing regular SP, you still get the vanilla city/county response dichotomy. For example, would you be able to have sheriff units respond around Davis, or eventually have region-specific FD response?
