New Police vehicle offerings: Are they enough?
Yes, thank you, it was the head gasket. Those little bastards were always getting blown and had to be replaced. That was the primary reason my S.O. went to Impalas. The sheriff actually wanted to buy Crown Vics which were a little bit more expensive (not by much) than the Impala and it was thought that since the Impala was a V6 instead of the CVPI's V8 and the vehicles smaller and lighter size that the Impala would be more fuel effecient. So the county commisioners decided they didn't want to give the sheriff the little bit of extra money for the Crown Vics and wanted him to get Impalas, so they only gave him enough money in the budget for Impalas. The reality of it was that the Impalas didn't get any better gas mileage than the Crown Vic and it ended up being just a car that everyone hated. About two years ago the sheriff said that he wanted to start making the Crown Vic the regular patrol car again, but it never happened and now that Ford stopped making them it definetly isn't going to happen. Now we have a new sheriff so I'm curious to see what he starts buying with all these new police cars on the market, I'll take anything other than an Impala and I haven't been too impressed with those new Ford Interceptors either.

New Police vehicle offerings: Are they enough?
They are front wheel drive, handle like shit, a lot smaller, and very unreliable. When I was an explorer with my sheriff's office I logged about 1500 hours of ride along time with patrol and I'd say about 4/5 of the time was spent in an Impala. It wasn't hard to loose an Impala (and due to our strict vehicle pursuit policy people liked to run from us a lot), it was so small and cramped inside (and I'm not a very big guy), I rode with one of the guys who was on the SWAT team and he had to keep all of his gear with him in case he was called out and there was barely enough room for me to get in the car because his trunk was literally packed to the top and I had to sit with a bunch of gear in my lap the whole 12 hours. Then on top of that our Impalas were always breaking down. The most common issues were the A/C dying on us (and in Florida summer heat you NEED A/C) and a gasket (can't remember the exact part name) was always getting blown. Plus if you get out on the east side of the county it gets pretty rural and I can recall a few times when we got stuck and had to wait a couple hours for the agency tow truck to come pull us out. So yeah I'd say that I've had some bad experiences with the Impala.

Of course it feels like plastic, it is plastic. Pretty much all cars built within the last 20-30 years have had plastic parts including the Crown Vic. I'm not a huge fan of the new police cars Ford is rolling out, they should have stuck with the Crown Vic. The CVPI has been the best selling police car since Chevy stopped making the Caprice and maybe even before then so why would you stop making that? With the combination of the CVPI no longer being in produciton and Dodge making improvements on their Charger and Chevy coming back with the infamous Caprice which was a favorite among police Ford is in for some serious competition in the police car market. I think it was a bad idea for Ford to stop making the CVPI, I notice a lot of agencies around me going to the new Chargers. I spent a lot of time doing ride alongs with my sheriff's office when I was an explorer and many of them said their favorite police car they ever drove was the Caprice or Crown Vic. Unfortunately our sheriff's office switched to primarily Impalas which have been hated by almost everyone in the sheriff's office. nat: I have heard the same thing about some of the 2008 Chargers as well. One of the local PDs in my county switched to almost all Chargers and they bought about 5-6 2008 Chargers and they were constantly having eletrical issues so they actually bought some new CVPIs a couple years later. They bought a couple of the new Chargers recently but I haven't got to talk to my buddies over there yet to see how their holding up. Slimroy: I don't think it is just the engine the departments are looking for because a lot of the agencies around me that were using the CVPIs are now going to the new Chargers but are getting the V6 version, not the V8s. I think one of the reasons the CVPI is so popular is because they are so reliable and durable. EVI said it best, you can beat those Crown Vics so much and they will still get up and go without skipping a beat. In addition to the CVPIs reliability they are also rear wheel drive (something that departments try to stick with usually), and they are pretty big cars so they can hold a lot of the equipment that police cars need to carry (I spent most of my ride alongs in Impalas and they are pretty cramped).

Do you think her action's were justified?
Well only the first part of my comment was directed to you, the rest was in response to some of the other comments. And I wasn't talking about what the Miami officer was actually charged with I'm talking about what he could have been charged with. He could have been charged with Fleeing and I think the only reason he wasn't is because he was a cop and there was some professional courtsey. I'm willing to bet if anyone else had done that they would have been charged with Fleeing.

Actually EVI it is a felony. He violated Florida State Statute 316.1935 Fleeing to Elude which is a felony of the 3rd degree. I think the trooper was justified for one she thought the car was stolen in the first place and two who cares if he is a cop, if he is willing to run from another cop then how do we know he's not willing to shoot another cop. I understand what professional courtisey is, but that is too far. Police aren't above the law and they are actually held to a higher standard than everyone else and if you can't handle that then you shouldn't be a cop. I have about 3 months left in my police academy (which also in Florida) and one of the first classes we had was on integrity and ethics. What that Miami cop did was not only unethical, but extremely dangerous. If that cop had hit and killed someone everyone would be screaming for that cops head and asking why cops are allowed to get away with this and all the normal shit that comes with those incidents. http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?mode=View%20Statutes&SubMenu=1&App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=Fleeing&URL=0300-0399/0316/Sections/0316.1935.html

New Orleans PD Texture Pack
It was made by Yakadafi awhile back. It is one of his older models so I don't think it is out on the internet anymore, but you might be able to find it somewhere. It would be awesome if he made another Expedition though.

New Orleans PD Texture Pack
- 114 downloads
- Version 1.2
All of these skins are based off of their real life counter parts. I have made the older NOPD paint scheme and the new NOPD design. Both new and old CVPI textures have skins for all eight NOPD districts (Districts 1-8). The older CVPI paint schemes also have a "Gaming Division" and "Tactical" skin. I have also included a "float" car for both the old and new paint schemes that does not have a district written on it. The NOPD stopped writing the district number on the side of their newer vehicles. Instead the NOPD made the first number in the car number the district indicator, so for example, car 827 is an 8th District car, car 406 is a 4th District car, and so on. See README for additional information and installation instructions. DO NOT EDIT/ALTER OR POST THESE FILES ANYWHERE ELSE WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM THE AUTHOR! 4.28.2012- 5 comments

What siren is this?
Yes, I did make a Mastercom siren, but it sounds like shit. I'm going to try and remake it and yes I can include a version with a HyperLo.

FWCC F150
Haha yep, all of the Florida state agencies don't pay shit. FHP isn't much better, start at $34k unless you work in south Florida where you start at about $38k.

Actually I'm pretty sure FHP uses a Code 3 Mastercom B siren. I was a sheriff's explorer with my sheiff's office and when I did ride alongs we worked with FHP a lot. Nicolai, unfortunately the Code 3 website sucks as far as siren demos. All of the sirens on the Code 3 website sound the same pretty much and while I can't speak for any of the other Code 3 sirens I can definetly tell you the Mastercom demo they have does not sound anything like an actual Mastercom siren because my sheriff's office uses the Mastercom and they sound way better.

One of my buddies works for Florida Department of Enviromental Protection Law Enforcement Division which just got merged into FWC. Those guys get some sweet toys, he has all sorts of ATVs, boats, trucks, etc. assigned to him. Sweet skin, another vehicle they use a lot is a Ford Expedition I'm not sure if there are any Expedition models out there or not.

So... Where ya gonna go now, huh?

My guess is the spotlight is photoshopped in, it is impossible to have a spotlight like that in the game.

In the market for a crown vic, need some suggestion's.
Yeah I would bet it is kinda hard to find a brand new Crown Vic now because 2011 was the last year they made them but I'm sure you could get a barely used 2010-2011 civilian Crown Vic. And yes for used police cars they can have great exterior and sometimes even great interior conditions, but as far as mechanical reliability it isn't as great. I have seen lots of great looking used police cars with next to perfect exterior and interior condition, but they are high mileage and have been driven to death. That is just the nature of police cars, it doesn't matter if it is a CVPI, Charger, Impala, Expedition, Tahoe, etc. if it was a police car it has been driven hard and been through a lot, that is what police do to cars.

Around here they range from $3k-$8k depending on the year, mileage, condition, etc. That is for the police interceptor version that the local agencies sell when they are decommissioning their old ones. If you are talking about buying a newer civilian one then I have no idea what the price range would be. My suggestion is to not buy old police cars because they are usually pretty old and beaten on. When I was a sheriff's explorer I logged hundreds of hours of ride alongs with my sheriff's office and I can tell you from experience that police beat the shit out of their cars both for fun and for legitimate purposes.

Truck Chasers or Firefighters speak out?
Really? There is a federal law that says it is your right to chase firetrucks? I'd love to see that law, could you please link me to it?

K9 Gets stabbed at beginning of shift
I would have shot him right there on the spot, he was coming at you with a knife, lol. Cool video though, I've seen that dog model before but I haven't seen anyone use it in a video, very creative.

Lenco Bearcat template
So I've downloaded both of KevinDV's Lenco Bearcats and tried to make a skin for them using the template that it comes with however when I open the template in Photoshop the background layer (the template) is locked and it prevents me from making new layers. I have tried unlocking the layer but haven't had any luck. Has anyone else run into this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks.
