Is the skin you are downloading a .png or a .ytd? If it's a .png, open the .ytd (or -hi.ytd if the car has both) and replace the skin. It's either labeled _sign or has a huge texture. You can view it yourself. If it's a .ytd, just replace the file.

Sharing game files is illegal. I do hope you used a mods folder (ALWAYS), then just replace it with your vanilla files. If you did not, verify your game files. That feature exists for a reason; For the Retail version of GTA V: Open the Rockstar Games launcher -> Locate "Settings" in the top right corner -> Select under "My Installed Games" Grand Theft Auto 5 -> Select Verify Integrity. For the Steam version of GTA V: Right click Grand Theft Auto V in Steam -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity Of Game Cache.

Did you install the LSPDFR configs, too? You also need all DLCpacks in your /dlcpacks folder & dlclist.xml.
