martintc, congrats on the release! Yes, I have released a mini-pack already, but am as we speak working on a huge update that will include reworked/revisioned variations of this livery for most of the police vehicles out there (CVPI, Impala, Tahoe, '15 Charger, Suburban, Explorer, Interceptor etc.)

This is so amazing, yet so underrated! I assume it's all just about changing hue/saturation and opacity of the original texture, but this little trick changes a lot! Drastic quality and visual experience improvement over the original. At first glance it looks super-realistic and I have tested it via trainer in different weather/lighting conditions; it does look superb at every time and weather. This one is with me to stay and I would recommend other modders to take example as to how lightbars should be realistically made (there's too many of half-finished ones out there already, too transparent and with no specular maps). Hopefully I'll be able to edit this review later and add some comparison screenshots I made tonight - they really do show the difference this one makes. With some little tweaks - this will be a keeper. I tried to use the templade provided to produce a LAPD/LSPD black and white, but the resolution makes it not so easy to work with. I mean the UV mesh is kinda blurred and pixelated. Also, I think the mapping needs to be revised; there's a hidden UV for the registry plate where the lower end of the right rear fender is (I placed the "call 9-1-1" decal there and in game it was also visible on the front plate. As this is a work in progress project; I hope the above helps a bit in refining this beauty; it has potential and a permanent parking spot reserved at my station ;) Good luck with updates, very much looking forward to them.

Interesting color combination there and nice execution, will give it a try. Shouldn't the grape color be noticeably darker, as in the RL pics, or is it an artist's impression, not meant to be 100% true to the original?

Crisp and sleek - love these a lot and they're here to stay. Also, I love that these come from the same author as the LSPD textures for F5544's CVPI's - roof and trunk font style and size match, giving a lifelike homogeneous look. Honest 5 stars PS: I would need to reproduce the error and see if it's on my end or not, but for some reason I'm forced to stick with the 2048 version. The 4096 ones repeatedly crashed my OpenIV when trying to import into the .wtd PS2: The method suggested worked! Thanks BogdanM! Now, back to drooling ;)

Glad you have this sorted out. Any idea what was causing the problem? Wrong DXT setting, texture size?

Due to multiple lightbars I have this installed in the police slot - no problems whatsoever. Being stuck on loading screen is an issue not related to this model, for sure, as it used to happen to me a lot long before too... Once GTAV starts you should open up task manager and change gtaV.exe priority to high - it'll load up sooner than a minute.

Can we please have 'the best of both worlds', where you combine this beautiful release but with LAPD hubcaps, intended for the police slot?

Enjoy ;) Not tested, as I'm using a different model in the sheriff slot and don't want to mess with files anymore - but these should do just fine. I corrected a small mistake I made in the original texture and now the Supervisor gets the brown one ;)

It is because both CVPI models are UV-mapped differently. If you want to use the old skin on this car it won't work. I will make the LSCS skin to fit F5544's Vic and send them to you, or upload as a release if there's anyone more ineterested. End of thread hijack ;)
