[FIXED]Lights don't work on ELS vehicles

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I just installed GTA 5 and LSPDFR for the first time in over a year, and the lights on my ELS vehicles don't seem to work.

I have the right things installed (VCFs for the ELS cars, ELS installed with scripthook), shaders set to very high, yet no lights. The brake lights will "flicker" like they're supposed to, but the lightbars and all other red and blue lights just don't do anything, no matter what LSTG I am in. The lights work on vanilla vehicles. So its not a "dim lights" issue or anything like that. Somehow the lights just don't work on the ELS enabled cars for me.

See this screenshot for how it looks with the ELS control panel: http://prntscr.com/mq2ey2
See this screenshot for my pack_default folder and how one of the VCF files looks: http://prntscr.com/mqar3j

So far I've tried just about everything:
- Reinstalling all my mods from scratch
- Reinstalling my asi. loaders in OpenIV and restarting my PC
- Installing an addon police car instead of a replace version
- Installing Scripthookv.net

What could be causing this?

FIXED!

I just wanted to say that I fixed it! Turns out I didn't have Visual C++ 2015. I had 2012, 2017 and a bunch of others, but not that one! And I couldn't install it as the 2017 version was blocking it. I uninstalled the 2017 versions (both x64 and x86) and then installed 2015, and then 2017. Restarted my PC, and now ELS works brilliantly!

So for those of you struggling, try that out.  I hope it solves the problem for you too.

Isn't there a scripthook.ini file that you also need? Maybe I'm wrong but doesn't hurt to mention...I cant remember

I have that. Sadly nothing I try seems to work.

I'm having the same issue...I'm going to try updating Scripthook thinking maybe my versions are out of date...did you download ELS 1.05?

Yes, that's the one I downloaded. Got the most recent scripthook as well as I just reinstalled everything.

Thanks for the update! Hopefully that will work for me as well...seems weird its gotta be the 2015 rather than the 17 or the newest, at least for yours 🤔 but I'm gonna try it

You just download C++ 2015 to the computer? I also downloaded scripthookvdotnet2, Scripthook, and visual c++ and now it doesn't even open through ragehook 😱

No you need to install it. And if you have C++ 2017 you'll need to uninstall that, then install 2015, and then install 2017. They sure don't make it easy for ya.

Like, we dont have to put it into the root folder or anything like that? Just install to the PC then install c++ 2017 and do samething?

Yes, it has nothing to do with GTA at all, as it just a windows program that ELS requires.

Don't know if it matters, but I installed both the x64 and the x86 versions.

Yea it is freaking awesome! But now what I dont understand is the 2 other ELS vehicles I downloaded do the samething with just the wigwags...🙄🤔😑🤬

I installed them correctly for sure...
