  1. I think many of the things that were left out are actually improvements. Suspects names that would come up during traffic stops were always silly puns and random names and the randomly generated ped age would say an elderly woman was 20. Good riddance to it. Also, having to point a gun at a suspect to arrest them is better than LCPDFR's system. With LCPDFR, you always had to play this sort of hokey pokey with the suspect ped while pressing the arrest keys and hope they turned around the right way and that your arrest animation was not, as you said, "in thin air." The only things missing that are of merit: Getting that police station to work. (Some trainers load North Yankton and other interiors and one I saw loads the battleship from one of the online heists but I remember it brought you to the coordinates but there was no ship.)Fast-roping helicopter noose team as backupSpike stripsPartnersInter-operability with other mods/trainersMore diverse callouts/shootouts (clearly)
  2. After struggling for hours on end to get the thing to work, I am blown away by LSPDFR. I have been on here with LCPDFR since the very beginning, when LCPDFR was very limited and arresting involved pressing Alt+H and you could only handcuff a ped on the ground. I've seen the thing grow from nothing to where it is now and my number one thing I want to say is that Sam and the crew clearly learned from LCPDFR and GTA IV in general to do this one right. Forget the cheap frills of some randomly generated pun names during a traffic stop, where an old ped is listed at age 20. Anyone who is complaining that those details from LCPDFR are missing form LSPDFR is insane. The big picture is this: several years of LCPDFR development were not as stable as LSPDFR's first release. LCPDFR for a long time was buggy as hell. You could not play GTA IV with mods for more than 40 minutes before it unraveled. What was done with LSPDFR was the laying of a very solid groundwork for a mod that will become diverse overtime. Sam and the crew clearly understand what is missing from the mod (partners, a shootout callout, etc.) it's not like they forgot. All the obvious improvements you thought of after playing the mod for a few minutes are coming. LSPDFR's strategy is much like Rockstar's. Rockstar knows they can milk GTA V by releasing content updates on a regular basis for free and peddling shark cards. You know that they will make some zombie update eventually that they will hype like Don King and probably charge money for. It seems the plan for LSPDFR is to release a very stable framework, and build on it and add in the things that are missing over time. There are already so many advancements in GTA V over GTA IV that are simply untapped potential. The powers that be know what they're doing. With that being said, here is my 2 cents. Swat fastroping, spike strips, roadblocks (native police functions of the game) are HUGE opportunities for the mod compared to GTA IV. The fact that Rockstar put these things in the game means they should function much better than having to mod them in.Incorporating random events as callouts? There probably will never be better "callouts" than the ones Rockstar made. When I say better, the ones Rockstar made have cutscenes and audio. Don't have shootouts just be a bunch of identical peds spawning with the same gun all next to each other as you pull up. When I pull up to a shootout, it should be in progress with the suspects spread out behind cover. It might be hard scripting wise, but there is little more annoying than being sent to a callout where the action is above or below you, like if you are on an overpass or bridge but the incident is happening down below in a parking lot.The arrest system is brilliant. KEEP IT SIMPLE.I'm sure you know this and if the mod becomes compatible with other mods at some point (trainers) there needs to be a way to spawn a new cop car if yours is destroyed or you respawn at a hospital. More to come as I think of it.
  3. Are you going to turn on that protection where to get into the site you need to fill out a Captcha and then you need 2 people in different rooms to turn keys at the same time, etc.?
  4. It kind of makes me think of this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml54UuAoLSo
  5. The way I see it is the more you mod the game the less stable it gets. Rockstar gave us a great port with a lot of great police stuff. I like to stick to vanilla.
  6. What's wrong with the vanilla cars?
  7. A little off topic (not that it matters at this point, as far as this thread is concerned) but has anyone else noticed the stream of pictures of the LSPD beating people down that keeps coming across the top of the page? There are a few pictures of GTA IV cars and then the rest is just people getting beat with a baton.
  8. Since the recent update, I notice that if your browser is viewing a thread, and someone replies, the box that used to appear and say "X new messages, click to refresh" is now just a black box with no visible text, sometimes a profile picture, but just a black box.
  9. Hype train at this point: http://www.theonion.com/video/breaking-hundreds-feared-dead-in-coors-light-party-34973
  10. LSPDFR TO RELEASE FRIDAY!!! That appears to be 12:00 AM (00:00) London time Saturday, June 20th, 2015. Friday June 19th, 2015 7 pm EST Friday June 19th, 2015 4 pm PST You can figure out the rest of the times.
  11. That's what I'm saying.
  12. I'm not serious--I'm just pointing out the absurdity of "™" with these videos, if anyone has a trademark on these terms, it's Rockstar. Anyone can call their video what they want and put ™ 5 times..does not imply a trademark.
  13. You've trademarked Vinewood Blvd and Vespucci Circus? Does that mean I can have a series called San Andreas Highway Patrol™ in GTA V™?

    Yes, PoliceMod, Native Trainer, Seatbelt
  15. It looks like they're planning on doing that Tuesday release thing like every other game ever released.

Didn't work. Even at 800x600 the mouse is still huge and distorted. UPDATE: I noticed that if I Alt+Tab to another application or to the desktop and come back to GTA V it is fixed but if I do it again the problem comes back every other time. Now the same thing is happening with the phone

Hello, After the latest update, I am noticing that for some reason in GTA V when I open the pause menu and go to the map, the pointer arrow over the map is really stretched and when I click on a location the beacon is placed way too far to the left. It looks like the mouse pointer for the pause menu is at a lower resolution or something. Any ideas? Thanks.
  18. Everyone's conduct is fine and understandable--my point is that if people are staying up into the wee hours of the night expecting something that the powers that be know won't be released for at least X period of time, they could say so. Or maybe they enjoy the hype that much. Who knows.
  19. You watch--I bet they just release the links to a bunch of trainers after weeks of accusations that the trailers and screenshots are nothing more than the work of trainer mods.
  20. https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/policemod-1-0c-pre-release Since LSPDFR is nearing release, I figured we should recognize this guy. He's made tremendous headway on his own. I haven't played LSPDFR yet (of course) but this guy did alright for one person who likely is not as experienced as some of the folks on here. He held many of us over as we wait for LSPDFR.

  22. Alright look, I understand that people are excited about the mod and the developers want to release it when it's ready but it's wholly unreasonable to have people "spamming F5" and posting literally once per minute about the hype if the mod is not going to be released for a week. I appreciate their hard work but all signs indicate that the developers are at the point where they can give a rough estimate and calm everyone down. At least talk about what interval we are looking at--minutes,hours,days, etc. Or maybe they just enjoy watching the hype. If I worked on making such a mod, I too would enjoy watching everyone hype it up like Don King. But only within reason. We are nearing the point of absurdity.
  23. Also, while we're at it--the mobile site does not have a button when browsing threads to go to the "last page." The button looks like two arrows and does not appear on mobile. Just sayin'.
  24. ineseri, Could we please clean up what is going on with regard to LSPDFR threads/news on here? There are a lot of people like myself who come to the site once a day or so to find out official news and statements by Sam and the crew and right now there are 3 open threads in LSPD Updates & Information with people rambling on for pages about topics that have nothing to do with LSPDFR Updates & Information. It makes it hard to find out what has transpired since the last visit. Thanks!
  25. Episode 5. Enjoy!
