No, gangs don't have better guns than police. For one thing, police have much better access to rifles -- criminals do not, as a rule, use rifles (you can't really conceal them), and police don't have to worry about concealing their guns.

a street gang versus a police department.. yeah, i see that working out real well. Everyone knows the biggest and the most powerful gang is the Police Department.

Do we start a new topic for each Palestinian kid killed / captured  by israel ? because if we did, trust me it would be way more than only 3.
And worldwide, thousands of kids are captured, so I don't see why the focus should be on ONE country.

Sell drugs. That's what I did. Coke, heroin, anything hard really. Weed isn't that great because there isn't a lot of room for profit and a pretty big competition. I suggest taking a trip down to Colombia and speaking with some cartels down there. They organized everything for me, I just had to smuggle it into the country and sell it on the streets. 
 
Once bit of advice though, don't buy through another dealer. Go right to the source. Cartels have the best quality stuff and cheapest prices. Also, be as white as possible so they don't pull you aside when going through airport security. 

I think it'd be a good idea if we were able to automatically check the license plate of vehicles stopped at a checkpoint before they are waved through...

EDIT: I tried the checkpoints...Amazing! Wish it were a little bit easier to wave traffic through, but, still great none the less! I know yall get suggestions out the ass...But I got another one...Maybe when the vehicle stops you can check soberity or check credentials. That would be cool!

I know there is at least one other thread with some suggestions, but I didn't want to hijack it, so I created my own. Just some thoughts that would make the LCPDFR policing experience better.

Callouts. Real police work in most places rarely involves shootings and pursuits. I have made a little list of some minor calls, which police handle every single day, multiple times. 
 
- Vehicle Lockouts 
Oops, someone locked their keys in the car. You arrive on scene, and somehow do some key combo to unlock the door and hopefully resolve the issue. Or something like that. I'm sure there are better ways to deal with the call. Maybe you have to press "E" at a certain point to get it to unlock, like the old suicidal call in......0.95?
 
- Alarms
An alarm is sounding at a house. You respond, have to check the doors and make sure there isn't anything suspicious going on. Maybe you'll come across someone running through the backyard, maybe they attempted to break in. Cops respond to residential alarm ALL the time.
 
- Suspicious Parked Vehicle
A vehicle is parked on the side of the road in an unusual spot. Someone called 911. You get dispatched and go check it out, make sure everything is okay. Cops get this all the time also. It would be a great LCPDR callout, even if you get this call all the time, it's common.
 
- Broken Down Vehicles on the side of the road
Someone has a flat tire. You respond, maybe put your lights on and park behind them to make sure they're safe while you call a tow truck for the vehicle. Simple as that.
 
- Erratic Operator
A driver is swerving, you check the area where the call was reported in and try to find the vehicle, stop it, make sure everything is okay with the driver.
 
Computer. A couple things that would make the LCPDFR computer better.
 
- History of previous crimes
 
When you run someone, you get a history of what they have done in the past, if anything. Maybe on 2/4/2013 they were stopped for acting suspicious. Well, when you run this guy, that info would come up. Of course it wouldn't be able to save to each person, but it would add so much role play.
  - Previous arrest log/history
Just like above, but what, why, when and things like that of when someone was arrested in the past.
 
- Ability to run license plates
Just like you can search for a person and their background, an option to enter license plates. Since GTA doesn't really have a different license plate on each car, you can just enter random ones. Basically you can enter anything and the vehicle status, who it belongs to, any history, etc will come up. So you should enter something like "123 ABC" but if you put "LCPDFR" it would bring up the same results. Hope that made sense. This would be great if you were in a parking lot checking on cars, a suspicious one comes along, you use the ALPR to get the plate, or make one up, run it, see if it's okay and all set and take it from there.
 
Traffic Stops. Just some ideas.
 
- Add a drivers license # to each person you pullover in addition to their name
Real drivers have a license #, so maybe as well as their name, you get a number, which you can look them up with also? That would be pretty neat, or if you can not look them up by the #, at least having them will add realism. But to have the option to run them by both of those would be awesome.
 
- Drivers license expiration date
Pretty simple, doesn't need explaining.
 
- Insurance status
Pretty simple, doesn't need explaining.
  - What the vehicle was stopped for in the past
Kinda like the person history, same idea. Pretty simple to understand. Just let's say they were stopped once for speeding, it would say that on the computer.
 
If all these are added, LCPDFR will be quite epic. (yes, it already is pretty epic)
 
I spent a long time typing this up, so some feedback would be nice. :) I might think of more things which I will add. Leave feedback on specific parts if you'd like.

Most people who hate law enforcement officers are people who are either "traumatized" by their "good" harmless", family member who sells drugs to minors because he cant get a job, so there for it must be legal, and when the law catches them and arrests them, they all of a sudden see, Oh no, look, he was arrested for selling drugs, or breaking into someones house, Oh but it was for someone else who is "needy", therefore the police are bad. These people who have 1 brain cell and don't know how to logically sum up a situation and think, oh, that's illegal, maybe I shouldn't do that, I'll probably get arrested, but, that's how this world is. Even for those cops who are corrupt, i still feel sorry for some of them, because maybe they just got tired of someones crap, but still, it doesn't make it legal.

That's in the enbseries.inin under BLOOM, I can't recall the exact name since I don't have one handy atm, but it should be smething like ....AddBlue.... Put that to 0.

Of course, Being a city cop, sheriff, or trooper are all very noble jobs. Don't believe everything you see on TV and YouTube about all cops just want to beat up people and stuff, in those stories you only get about half the story. But there is that 1% of cops that makes the whole look bad... Being a cop in the U.S. is a VERY respectful job.

As for my experience in the US, I've only met really nice and professional officers & deputies.
There will always be good and bad LEO's (Law Enforcement Officers), no matter where you go. Often times being a LEO is a respectable job, however as always, there are those who are just out for the power that comes with the uniform (badge/star).
 
Media loves to focus on corrupt LEO's that's why you see a lot of it in the media, and yes the US has a lot of police brutaility. However, it's not like every LEO in the US is a corrupt, power abusing grumpy dude. Every LEO isn't corrupt, and it's often that 1% of the LEO's who makes the rest look bad. 99% of LEO's are nice and love their job, but the 1% will always be there...

I hope so too but unfortunately some people are crazy strict plus we don't have the power to stop them if they are in other countries but if they are in our countries (atleast here in saudi arabia) we do have some problems that the police are trying to fight also forgot to mention but unfortunately these sick bombers are the ones who create problems for us muslims in us and such airports with racist searches and such i as a muslim fully respect the police officers, there jobs and the inoccent families waiting for the door to open and to hug their father or mother. good day drdetroit i appreciate your respect!
 
 

Unfortunately there are some crazy strict people and unfortunately there is alot in the uk same as there are bad people from other religions as well but this guy who killed a police officer is not following islam there is nothing in islam that says kill non believers and take there land, that who killed a brave police officer waiting to go to his innocent family is a sick person! i hope the officer rests in peace, all im saying is some people misunderstand islam and think its to kill and bomb but jihad is not to bomb a school or whatever it may be jihad is to go to school study and effect your community in a good way. I hope i tought you something about islam anyways sorry for the late reply.  

I agree with you 100% and any correct muslim would based on there religion and prophet teachings but whatever religion,color or nationality you are. And I really feel bad for London and what is happening to you by corrupt muslims.

You're saying that my life size model police car in my bedroom that I sit in when I play, my coffee shop in my kitchen, my toughbook police laptop next to me on a desk, and my pretend uniform I wear each time I play, that's taking it too far?

If I drink while playing, it's water or orange juice. I rarely drink and play though. But, there is nothing wrong with role-playing to the max! It's fun for some people.

So you don't eat or drink at all when playing video games? And a whole lot of people who do not play this game+mod to pretend and RP they are a police officer, but more to have fun just like any other game.

5 I am skeptical of because if you are playing LCPDFR and get bored in it, 5 doesn't really work. But the rest are nice ideas.
 
I might add that roleplaying is another valid solution. If you get bored of the typical GTA IV style of gameplay, pretend you're something else, pretend your a cop who's had a really bad week and isn't in the mood to tolerate lies or people who think they can run away. Or even go off duty for alittle while, massacre the entire city with RPG's and such and then go back on duty :)
