  1. Thanks for reporting that! Actually not that bad there are no blips. It adds a bit more realism to the whole thing. I'm going to try this again tonight and use your setting. One more question since you tried it already, did the AI cops try to arrest them on their own?
  2. Spot on, yet again The moral of this story is backup your files before modding people or do as Molten does and backup your entire game folder to be sure!
  3. No problem man, glad I could help
  4. Fonia5 only made one set of road textures, unless I'm wrong. Another one you could us is DKT70's HD road textures if you don't want pink pavements but do want other road textures than the default ones: http://www.mediafire.com/?3a8c8lpoiumotzb Regards
  5. You're missing the point here. He forgot to backup his vehicles.img file before putting modded cars in the game. Because of that, he can't go back to the default car because like Ekalb so rightly put it, reinstalling sparkIV won't change anything to the game's data itself because SparkIV is just the "can opener". I'm afraid you have no choice but to reinstall the entire game or, if you bought GTA via Steam, restore the game via Steam.
  6. People's stupidity is indeed unbelievable sometimes. I remember an episode of police interceptors where two Israeli's flagged down a police officer to say they were ripped of in a car deal because the car wouldn't start. Turned out the car was just out of gas and on top of that, they didn't have any insurance for the car so their car was impounded. You might be right about the fact that it isn't staged but I see a real difference in people's reaction to the cameras in cops than in British shows like police interceptors or road wars. Most of the time, the Brits are way more camera shy and refuse to be filmed as to in cops, Americans act like the camera isn't even there. That's why I think that some parts in cops are staged or at least heavily edited to cut out the bits where people react to the camera.
  7. @Molten: well, to be honest, it's been a while since I last used that script but by what I still remember, the criminals can be recognised from other peds since they're mostly gang members and a red blip appears on top of their heads when they engage in criminal behaviour, like Sniper said. However, the annoying part is the fact that they can try to carjack you as well. You can however reduce the chance in the ini file so that it happens less often. As to whether it works with LCPDFR, I've encountered no problems with it. Whenever I saw some guys breaking into a parked car, I'd get out and try to arrest them. When you do that, the AI cops immediately recognise the person you try to arrest as a criminal and will pursue him as well. What I can't say is whether or not the AI cops engage them on their own. I'd suggest you try out the script and report back
  8. I think you're referring to Hippiecommunist's CriminalActs. It's a script that will randomly cause peds to try to rob and carjack you. It's part of Hippiecommunist's modpack so just pick out "CriminalActs.CS": http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=15964 Another thing I could recommend if you're into crime scripts is this: http://www.gta4-mods.com/script/abandoned-vehicle-cleanup-f8690: "This mod will make a crew recover abandoned vehicles in the player's area (vehicles with no driver or a dead driver). If no abandoned vehicles are found, they may steal vehicles off of the street, from the dealership, etc. The criminals will occasionally get into shootouts with the cops." This last one however can be annoying sometimes. Regards
  9. Out here, shows like these aren't that popular as well although a couple of channels are trying out Flashpoint, Rookie blue, Hawaii Five-O and Trauma. However, it seems some of these have already been taken out of the air. Shows like CSI and NCIS (one of my favourites) remain popular though. Also, one of the lesser known shows that was broadcasted here and that I liked is The closer. The acting is good and it's about the LAPD homicide squad so what do you need more? I haven't seen Southland yet but by the look of it, it doesn't seem to be that bad. I'm more fond of shows like cops and police interceptors who follow real cops ( although I'm sure a big part of it is staged as well) but some show and big action scenes aren't bad once in a while.

  15. Whoops, my bad. I watched the whole video and yet I didn't notice that. Must be coming of age . Thanks for pointing that out
  16. That's actually not a bad idea. It could surely be possible since shootout calls have some Noose guys and Noose trucks spawned as well so I see no problem why armored trucks and security guys couldn't be spawned.
  17. Don't want to be a know-it-all but that is not a 2012 Dodge charger. It's a 2008 Dodge charger. Just letting you know
  18. Would be a nice reward after I pull msyelf through the night, studying for my exam tomorrow @Molten: Lol, talk about imagination
  19. If I were you, I'd stay away from carpacks. What you need to know is that the default vehicles.img, which contains the default vehicles, is about 80MB large. You yourself said that you downloaded a car pack of 381MB. That's almost 5 times the size of the original so your memory just can't handle that. So in order to load the high poly models, your environment textures disappear or the game just loads taxi's. My advice would be to keep most of the cars default and try not to mod cars that spawn regularly or use low poly car mods. Sam has some nice low poly mods over at the download section. Regards
  20. No offence but I don't think you'll get much more popular by making a thread like this.
  21. @Molten: Lol, nice link, +1 :biggrin:This Little Billy clearly didn't listen.
  22. Welcome to the forum! Well, to be honest, I know only 2 mods who allow you to play as a LEO and that's LCPDFR and police pursuit mod. I've tried both and I can honestly say without being biased that LCPDFR is way more realistic than PPM. LCPDFR just has way more features and gives a more complete and immersive experience which I didn't get when playing PPM. However, it's up to you which one you prefer of course. As for car mods and other scripts, there are a bunch of websites who offer a lot of these like gtapolicemods, GTAIVmods, gtagarage, gtainside,... Also, you could check this site too as the download section has a couple of good mods as well. As for learning how to put all these mods in the game, there are a couple of tutorials on youtube and the sites I mentioned. Be careful though not to overmod your game since that could give problems with your game and LCPDFR, seeing it was made to run on a vanilla copy of GTA IV. Regards
  23. Looks nice!
