  1. Well, GTA IV is set in Liberty City, correct? So the city's police is LCPD, not any other departments. I like to play as a real-world cop on those streets, trying to cause as less harm I can, obey traffic laws, helping citizens and calling for backup when it's obvious a single cop can't do any good. Yeah, I do prefer vanilla cars because all those brand-new-high-poly ELS-enabled cars look so out of place to me comparing to the rest of the traffic, and I don't like those bugs with doors and collisions (not trying to diminish the modders' job, they did great). My choice is Ekalb's vehicles with ALM and PoliceHelper.
  2. Well, actually, change /en/ to /ru/, and you'll see. Sorry to say, but there are many Russian sites with mods taken without any permission, but they will all fade away soon, because of too many ads, viruses in files and all that. Back in time, when SA modding was the most relevant, there were thousands of such crappy websites with bunch of stolen content, but only few survived. Finally, copyright issues are a concern for a very small part of those who live in Russia. You know, like, Soviet heritage...
  3. The mother looks really weird, like she never heard of police, obeying the lawful order of an official and all that stuff, you know, it's called the law. She was speeding, that;s not a capital offense, so pull over, take you ticket. have a disagreement? You can always explain it to the judge, because officers really aren't the ones who you should talk to. Instead she just leaves, and then tries to leave again, like no one is saying nothing and this is just a chit chat... The officer is no better. Instead of trying to calm her down, he acts too aggressive, and this actually might have frightened her. Finally, smashing the window was very strange, I never heard of any regulation which recommend an officer to smash someone's car as a way to convince him to stop. The shots are so out of place, that I'm not even gonna duscuss them. Finally, this backup unit could have just blocked her van with their car to prevent her from fleeing.
  4. That's really startling. It's the first time since cops have actual advantage based not on their spawns behind every corner. I remember in SA LSPD usually was less effective in shootout that gang members when they were outnumbered at least 3 thugs to 2 cops. And in IV it's just a shame how they do shoot-outs with other NPCs. Especially obvious it is when seen during LCPDFR. I had two Noose teams on 5 suspects armed with SMG and rifles, so agents took cover behind a fence (all 4 of them) and fired blindly straight in the air around three meters higher that perps were. Finally one agent got one in the head, so I had to shoot every one myself. And when I first saw LSPD pursuing some gangsters, I thought they'll be wasted, just as usual. They stopped the car (4-door with 3 thugs), and one officer was shot dead right after leaving the VSPC, another one took cover at the door and managed to kill a perp in a few shots, other hid themselves. Then suddenly another police car arrived, one officer was armed with a shotgun, and they cleared the scene nice and quick. I don't know was this unit just passing by or was a backup, since cops never used to call for back when dealing with NPCs. All I want to set up for now is to make Noose fight some gangsters, but it's really hard since I hate those controllers and Noose is quite deadly.
  5. It's good that Noose actually is improved. They used to give chase in IV in their huge poor-controllable Enforcers, which actually are not pursuit vehicles. Now they use them only in roadblocks (and it's harder to ram through, I prefer to make a turn) and chase in their Grangers. The only thing I wish is that LSPD really use they undercover car in street patrol, 4 example, and Buffalos on highways. Looks like VSPC 'Taurus'-like is the main fleet car. Why, they were nice in Liberty, especially those helmets and masks... But I still expected fines and opportunity to give up, just to make it more interesting.
  6. Wow, I like how NPCs handle pursuits! And when the suspect stopped after chasing her... That was cool indeed! I like those realistic-style pursuits
  7. About unusual stuff.. Just yesterday coming home from work saw a dead homeless man and two officers who covered him with his coat and sat on a nearby bench. One pulled out his cellphone, and another one was smoking. I know our police usually don't really care, but that was frustrating. And week ago, saw a road police officer who was given some money, so he dropped the money on the ground, then he asked the driver to find another bill because this one was dirty... That kind of things are unusual even for Russian police, but sometimes still occur
  8. That's really a good thing IMO. Remember that heist of Bank of Liberty? Hey yo lets hit the bank and just kill everyone it's so funny ain't it. Now you can choose and at least try to spare some lives. Yeah, I don't like to kill people :( And still, about those interiors... There's more than interiors in V. IV was focused on the city, so there had to be many interiors just to make exploring interesting. Here, in San Andreas, it's entertaining just to drive around and looking.Take Surfer, check Chiliad...
  9. Actually, I was dissapointed by IV's main storyline. Only TboGT made me smile and enjoy the game. The point is - wait for DLCs. They might even itrosuce some more interiors and activities.
  10. How about that? A fourteen-year-old killed his teacher with a cutter. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/24/all-public-schools-in-massachusetts-town-closed-for-homicide-investigation/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+foxnews%2Fmost-popular+%28Internal+-+Most+Popular+Content%29 You never can underestimate the threat. Especially when this is a person with a firearm and he refuses to put it down. After all those school shootings done by school guys I really do understand that reaction.
  11. So foot patrols now carry shotguns?.. Nice to know O_o BTW, can you give up at least at two stars?.. There were rumors sometimes before, how about now?
  12. It doesn't take much to offend a lady :D
  13. Maybe the game has no mechanic for frisking you, checking your ID and dragging you downtown, because officers have a reasonable cause to believe you act suspicious, so it's done this way. You can give up and imagine you've been processed like in real life. In GTA IV, if you accidentally push a cop, you get one star too, but IRL I just say "I'm sorry" :)
  14. yeah, I know. Thing is, I was too disappointed and had to express it, 'cause I doubt this can be changed by mods ever... But still, the way emergency services respond in V, it's amazing) Two fire engines, ambulance, and I also saw deputies arriving when truck exploded on a highway...
  15. Well, this is forum where people (most of them, I believe) have fun by playing as a cop, and many mods here are aimed to make this experience more close to reality. And I honestly didn't expect such attitude here, lol. Maybe I'm too naive, but in Liberty I always call medical help after shoot-outs to help people. And second thing is that R& didn't have to invent anything new, they could just keep a fine system. They added firetrucks responses, anyway.
  16. Now it's all clear. Ambo shows up real quick, they get out, pull out notebooks, write something down and then just leave. I wonder who's that genius in R* who decided to quit the GTA IV's way.
  17. BTW, how about vanilla ambos and fire engines? It would be awesome, most def!

  19. Realistic indeed. Those lights, roads, dense traffic, the way they yield to siren... From that camera angle buildings look extremely impressive.

Came across a good-looking incident and decided to take some pics. I'm not very good at it, so the map, arrows and such still present. Thanks to all the modders whose creations I'm using in the game :)
