  1. Denying that it doesn't happen often would be a bit foolish. Even here in France where news don't cover all international news, we regularly hear "Another police-involved shooting in the United States caused the death of X people". And the answer of everyone here is "Well, here we go again". It is a common occurence, especially lately.
  2. I believe you should split your story in different parts, because even though it's interesting to read, it's really a pain to read as well from the beginning to the end with this huge block of words.
  3. Understandable. On a general basis, I believe fireworks should be performed only by professionals during monitored events, not by random people.
  4. Yeah, so I guess you should read better. Like, a lot better. And not just take things and put them out of context. I was answering to this guy in particular. His speech, is a speech of hatred. There's nothing but hate, spite and bitterness in what he said. Yes, I think this kind of speech is not needed, and yes, I think this kind of speech can be shoved up their owner's rectum. You want to know how tolerant I am? Check other threads where I answered. Check my other answers. Heck, ask even TheDivineHustle, we argued on countless subjects during the past year, and yet not a single time I lacked of respect or tolerance towards people disagreeing with me. But this guy I answered to is not disagreeing, debating, nor even arguing about something, he is simply discriminating. You think this kind of people is nice, that what they say is worth listening? Good for you. But I have not a single ounce of respect towards people that are there only to spread hateful comments.
  5. Excuse me what? How is it immoral? Please have a sit, make yourself a couple of tea, take a breath and read this. Once it's done, if you still think the same, I kindly invite you to do this. No one needs your speech of hate here.
  6. http://www.postandcourier.com/article/20150629/PC16/150629298/kkk-to-rally-for-confederate-flag-july-18-at-statehouse With that, I believe it'll be clear to everyone that it's hard not to judge that flag for what it means for those people.
  7. It's an understatement considering our record of having different opinions on various debates
  8. The Confederate flag in the middle of this whole controversy is a battle flag. Not a flag representing the south or the confederate states. It was made for battle. From that point, no, I wouldn't see any difference between someone waving an ISIS and someone waving a confederate flag. They may come from different horizons, but they both were made as a war banner, and they both represent a considerable ammount of deaths for idiotic goals. If I saw someone waving the US flag, I'd be like "Oh, some patriotic american", I'd shrug it off, and quickly forget about it. If I saw someone waving a confederate flag, I'd be like "Another southern racist piece of crap coming from the butthole of the world". That's how it is, matter of interpretation. Each one their own. Besides, what's the point of waving a confederate flag, at the end? Isn't the american people supposed to be united under the US flag? That's the real flag, the one they should actually wave. Waving a confederate flag is just looking for controversy on purpose, IMO.
  9. Following your logic, anyone could wave an ISIS flag, because they have the right to do so. It's not a matter of right when it comes to that, but of interpretation and personal belief. Also, you should consider stopping to use the "left-wing propaganda" stuff, because it also can work the other way around. Anyone could say you got brainwashed by the conservative medias and stuff. Don't think it brings anything to the conversation besides more drama. My two cents, though.
  10. Wat? No, people really need to stop with idolizing the US like that. Freedom of opinion still exists in -many- other countries, they aren't the only super free land of the universe. As for the rest of your post, I'd appreciate a source about this cake with ISIS flag, because I've a hard time believing it.
  11. Try to reinstall the cars, or to change the models for some others that would have a lower polygon count. If this still doesn't work, it means it's most likely a memory problem. To go in the details a little, it doesn't really depend on your computer. GTA IV was poorly optimized for PC, and considering it's a game that is getting a bit old on top of that, it cannot make the best use of multicore CPUs and large RAM. So you can perfectly have texture loss or crashes, even with the most badass of the computers.
  12. Yeah most of the time this either means that the car model is corrupted (or bugged because of a bad insertion from OpenIV/Spark), or that the allocated memory is overloaded. Do you experiment texture loss at some point? It's a classic symptom of memory overload in GTA IV.
  13. Could be a memory issue. The Route 66 map is really heavy. Don't think there's a work around besides maybe using lower poly cars, if you are using modded cars.
  14. Giving some people rights and equality is moving backwards? Do you think it was moving backwards to give women more rights and equality? Do you think it was moving backwards to give black people rights and equality? You are free to be homophobic all you want, but you are not free to claim that a whole country went backwards just because YOU disagree with it. Anyone who actually supports human rights and equality will tell this is a great step forwards. And I don't see why anyone would NOT support human rights and equality. In what century are you living in? 18th?
  15. As said above, it was about time. Anyone should be allowed to marry whoever they want, and it is now possible. I'm actually secretly laughing mockingly at the super conservative states where gay marriage was still banned. Like "Bam, in ya face yo". Humanity should move forward, not stay anchored in the past with outdated customs and ways of life.
  16. When you keep repeating the same things over and over, and you get the same answers over and over, there is a moment when you eventually give up and carry on. This kind of debate is sterile, one side will shout "Guns should be banned!", the other will respond "Guns should be allowed!", it becomes a routine, and just like every routine, it gets boring. I've participated in this thread, but that was the reason why I didn't respond after a moment. I made my point, repeating it ten times in a row because people can't read previous posts in the same thread or because they can't tolerate that someone can have a different opinion from theirs is not my cup of tea. I believe many people felt the same way. There was no side invalidated by the other. As it was stated above, just because someone gets the final word doesn't mean they hold the ultimate truth. If it was the case, all political debates held by politics would be in favor of the one having the final word, and it's not necessarly the case.
  17. Or maybe a reason to actually stop to spread weapons all over the country as if it was candies. Check this Guardian interactive map. You have an equal percentage of homicide by firearms to Brazil. Brazil, one of the most criminalized countries. Says a lot. Check also this graphic: https://img.washingtonpost.com/wp-apps/imrs.php?src=https://img.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/files/2015/06/gun-homicides1.png&w=1484 I mean, it speaks for itself. As a final note, a bit of humor:
  18. Like that: Edit for the poster above me: the mod community graphics is not really an ENB in itself, and is also quite bad. All it does at the end of the day is increasing colors and contrast. Sure it looks colorful, but it becomes unplayable at night.
  19. Hystery commented on Ofc. Vic's gallery image in GTA IV Galleries
  20. C'est normal que ça soit installé dans le dossier "copie GTA" et pas là où le jeu est normalement?
  21. This is actually not true. I experienced the same problem, and contacted R* support to get an answer, this is what I got from them after a couple days: But I do agree that mods online should be followed by an instant ban, no matter who is using them. Even if my best friend was using some, I'd not defend him. Using mods online DO ruin the game experience of other players, whether you want to admit it or not.
  22. Fell upon this video this evening, which really gave me a chill along my spine. It's very well explained, simple, and... well, it's a great video. Title is self-explanatory. Thought I'd share it, just for some people's curiosity, or to bring some knowledge about this war to some others.
  23. The handling in IV is very, very heavy. I'm pretty sure it is that way because the dev wanted to give a realistic feeling to the cars in the game, though in my honest opinion, GTA is not about realism. I clearly prefer the handling in V because the cars actually have brakes and acceleration, and are not crashing in a wall at every turn at high speed. Also drifting is easier, and that's even better. The only thing I regret on V is that all the cars seem bridled to not go higher than ~120MPH, which is a shame, but probably understandable (the less fast the cars go, the longer the travel seems to be, the bigger the map seems to be).
