If there was to be an LSPD:FR/SAPD:FR mod for GTA 5 and founded by G17 Media, then i think they'll just change the name of the site from LCPD:FR to something like "First Responce Modifications" or something.

Least suprising announcement since Ubisoft announced Watch underscore Dogs's PC version.

It's a shame they didn't release it on PC at first, the game was really let down by the sup-par current-gen console spec.
Personally, I'll hold off until we know wehther it's another IV quality port and that it's moddable, I don't care much for going back for the storyline and the game didn't offer much beyond it.

    My perfect E3;
EA announce that they are planning to drop their always-online evil DRM. Ubisoft announce that they'l discontinue Uplay. Rockstar announce a PC version of GTA 5/ Red Dead and a HD remake of Bully/The Warriors/ Midnight Club Gabe Newell admits Half Life 3 is in development. The Sims 4 release date specified. Paradox give us a Mount and Blade 2 gameplay demo. Medieval 3 Total War announced (come on, its pretty much inevitable now) A new Hitman game announced (a good one like Blood Money, not Absolution) If these things actually come true i will shoot lasers out my eyes in happiness.

I don't know if it will help a lot of people, but as I saw some members asking "how do you..." or "what do you use for..." in topics, maybe this list will interest a few beginners.
If you have suggestions, feel free to tell me. I didn't put all the tools, because some of them are crap or because another tool does the same thing, better.
Finding alternatives easily : go to this website for generic tools or this one for GTA IV specific tools.

    - Text

Notepad++ : forget the good old Windows Notepad, this one is powerful, adaptative, and full of options. Perfect for modifying data files or coding.
    Download

    - Image

Gimp2 : if you want to make textures or other graphic stuff, here is the champion.
    Download - Plugins

    Alternative : Paint.NET

    - Sound

Audacity : cut, add effects, and fix your audio files. Useful if you are modding GTA IV audio.
    Download

    - Archive

7zip : please, get rid of this awful WinRAR, 7zip is 100% free and as effective. You'll need a tool like this to extract or compress files.
    Download

    Alternative : PeaZip

    - Script

VisualStudio Express : if you want to create C# or Vb.NET scripts. Need a lot of learning !
    Download 2010 - Download 2012 (I find 2010 way better)

ScriptHookDotNet Dev & Docs : necessary for GTA IV .NET scripting. Look at GTA forums in IV Coding section for tutorials, samples, and help. Need a lot of learning !
    Download

    - GTA IV Specific

OpenIV : import, export, edit files. Full of options. A must have for car or ped mods and other things like that. Plus, you can use OpenFormats.
    Download

SparkIV : same as OpenIV without OpenFormats. Choose the one you want. I use both, following my needs.
    Download

IVneedle : it can edit a lot of data files. I mean, a lot, really. Handling, Timecyc, Peds, etc...
    Download

X GXT Editor : if you need to rename a car, a street, or whatever. Useful if you have replaced your police cars and want a coherent name for example.
    Download

GTA-IVaud : open, extract, replace audio files. It's why Audacity was listed above ;) Be advised that some audio files like loading theme can't be edited for the moment.
    Download

About 3D modeling : I thought of Blender as a free alternative of Zmodeler. Yeah, it doesn't support GTA IV formats, but maybe you can export in an open format supported by OpenIV.
I didn't test it, so if someone knows or is gonna test, I would like to know if it's possible and I'll add it in this list of course.

    - Resources

Abstract Fonts / Dafont / FontSquirrel : download free various fonts for your textures.
Go to AF - Go to DF - Go to FS

LCPDFR Development Resources / GPM Development Support : download 3D modeling objects, templates, and misc other things.
    Go to LCPDFR-DR - Go to GPM-DS

DeviantArt Resources & Stock : download Photoshop/Gimp brushes, texture filters, logos, and other graphics stuff.
    Go to DA-RS

FreeSound : the name says it all, here you'll find a lot of sound effects for your scripts/audio mods.
    Go to Freesound

    - Hosting Websites
if you need to host some testing files or other stuff that can't be uploaded to lcpdfr.com

    Go !

Mega : free account : 50GB. Size per file limit : none.
    Go !

Servimg : image hosting only, useful for screenshots or other illustrations.
    Go !

Skydrive : 7GB, if you have an hotmail or live or outlook mail account, you have a Skydrive account. Size per file limit : web : 300MB / client : 2GB.
    Go !

I don't include 4shared because downloaders need an account and MediaFire because it deletes files after a month without downloading.
About image hosting, I don't include Imageshack or Ompldr because sometimes images are deleted.

Pretty sure it wont be accurate to real life police or S.W.A.T just another FPS game with a bunch of shooting and little police work, I probably wont buy it the day it comes out, I will wait a bit to hear reviews and wait for a few DLC's. I still don't like the fact that it is being developed by EA. Can't wait though!

If this game turns out to be as good as we all want it to be, it can only be exploited for realism to a very limited extent. This will be a normal battlefield game- just with police themed objects, cars, guns etc.

Sure, it will be nice to have this. But I think it will be hard for EA to live up to expectations. Also, it's EA.

I am so exited! Too bad it ain't made by DICE. I honestly don't think they should call it "Battlefield Hardline because BF games is about war, here it is cops n' crooks. It should be called " EA SWAT" or "Special Weapons And Tactics EA " in my opinion.
(It says EA for copyright thingies because SWAT is made by Sierra not EA.)

Tackleberry reacted to Sam in LCPDFR 1.0c Hotfix
We've released a hotfix which brings with it some small stability enhancements and fixes as well as some highly requested features.  The hotfix, LCPDFR 1.0c is now the third patch for LCPDFR 1.0.

Along with bringing to the table a more stable experience, LCPDFR 1.0c comes packing a punch as far as features are concerned too.  Since time immemorial, the ability to control traffic has been long sought after in LCPDFR.  LCPDFR 1.0c now introduces the ability to set up a checkpoint with a patrol car on any road which you can then use to control the flow of traffic passing through.

As well as this, we made a big mistake when we rewrote LCPDFR for 1.0c when we forgot to convert over the old feature of drinking coffee.  Again, this is something that has been widely requested and sure enough, you can now indulge in a caffeine hit while protecting the streets of Liberty City.  Not only that, however, but the whole process is more interactive in that you now hold a key to drink.  As an added bonus, there's even a nice drinking sound effect to go with it.

LCPDFR 1.0c is also good news for the people that like to develop with our API.  There's now a bunch of new features and classes available to you allowing you control over nifty things like arrow checkpoints and blips, as well as some access to LCPDFR's internal ped data.

As always, please report any problems to us in the LCPDFR support section.  Enjoy!

Tackleberry reacted to Cyan in API key generation back online
This is just a notice that API key generation is back online and you can now link your account with LCPDFR Online Services using the manual installation.
To do this, just go to the API key page, which is located here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/page/csapikeygen
This will give you your API key. To then add this to LCPDFR, open the LCPDFR.ini file, and add your API key to the APIKey section of the file.
The only way to link your account is being using the diagnostics tool.
This will enable your name to be shown on the live blotter, and statistics will be recorded from your activity and progress in LCPDFR.
We'll soon be rolling out more functionality for this, including personal heatmaps, bringing back the leaderboards and letting you view all your statistics on LCPDFR.com again. This should be coming later this month.

Marriage has always been a union between a male and a female, and a religious one at that.
I've always been against same sex marriage, and completely for civil unions and partnerships -- which are not religious and give the same governmental and civil rights.
I'm all for equal rights, but especially in UK, when marriage and civil partnerships both exists and have the same rights, the debate over here is over a word and is really stupid.
When women got the vote, did they redefine voting?
