  1. It would disable legitimate criticism and leave players unable to use comments for reporting issues and oddities to the creator/other players, for one. Taking that statement and turning it around into a dramatization: if the ability to flat-out disable comments were created and implemented, I could easily use that as a shield against criticisms ("Please credit such-and-such for the lightbar" "NO NEVER YOU CAN'T MAKE ME") or to try to escape consequences ("Hey, you used my lightbar, please credit me, dude" "NO NEVER YOU CAN'T MAKE ME"). While yes, these scenarios are extreme, they're rife in another community that I'm part of and is almost as vitriolic as the dev community here was in '14. Is that scenario still possible today? Yeah. Is it likely? My jury's still out on that one.
  2. It would lead to abuse, I feel. A simple(r) way to flag for deletion, similar to the report button but a different button altogether, would probably be a better option. Alternatively, you could make it to where creators could "hide" specific comments which would start out collapsed akin to a spoiler tag, but J. Random Person could click on the "hidden" comment to see the comment. That'd be a bit more transparent, I feel.
  3. Umschalten-taste halten wenn RPH startet. Es wird am zuerste Einstellungensatz sein. Wenn ist unter 10000, Sie werden Fehler haben. Mein ist 30000.
  4. Was ist die "Plugin Timeout Threshold" in der RPH-Einstellungen?
  5. The Scripthook development team and the LSPDFR team are not affiliated with one another, last I checked.
  6. ScripthookV ist aktualisiert? 24.Sep-Version ist zuletzt Aktualisierung. Ich entschuldige mich für mein Deutsch schlechtes.
  7. Steam version here, I'm able to get it to launch just by firing up RPH. It takes a hot minute because of the clusterfuck of launchers, but it'll load in just fine for me.
  8. As an update about the coronas, they do function on non-ELS vehicles (it's based on the position of the headlight, taillight et cetera dummy positions). I finally got around to setting up the vanilla fleet with ELS configs and confirmed using the police bike that it does work like that. Image proof in spoiler. The audio hash override also works like you would think; the police bike had the default siren instead of the bike siren when I turned on the siren.
  9. By 'mid-range', would you mean this to be an upgrade compared to the previous apartment, or a downgrade? I'm hoping the latter.
  10. I shall refer you to Reddington's write-up of the matter.
  11. Yo dawg, I heard you like launchers, so your launcher now launches our launcher, which launches our other launcher, which launches our game so you now finally have enough time to grab a can of VB before the game finishes loading in on your fancy new SSD also I spent 5 hours yesterday and 5 more the day before setting up a set of skins for a fleet of new vehicles and now I can't even use them :^) Edit: I ran the flowchart in my head and I'm actually short a launcher if you're launching through Steam (see edit comment for flow)
  12. Ah, I don't mind making my own skins, personally; I have a weird thing with the department names where they're named after towns in Pokémon (dates back a ways) and I think I'm probably going to have a hard time finding skins with those on it. Plus, where's the fun in making the fleet yours if you don't have any part in assembling it other than choosing out cars? (Yes, my favourite gifts are those that say "some assembly required". The only reason I don't touch zmodeller is the modelling community was - and to an extent, still is - surprisingly toxic.) But if you do know of any more lore-friendly models, by all means! I'm running Lundy's Sheriff SUV/Esperanto plus a few other add-on odds and ends, but I'm always on the lookout for more ways to expand the fleet and add a bit of variety between the various departments.
  13. That'd be nice, if you could. I downloaded it and tinkered with it last night, and it suited me well enough. I only encountered major problems with one, but the others worked nicely. If you have templates, would you mind sending those over as well?
  14. 1.- GTA IV had a shoddy port, and if you combined that with ELS-IV, it was difficult to keep a decent set of mods on that wouldn't crash your game out. Have 1 too many ELS vehicles - crash. Have 1 too few ELS vehicles - crash. Have the perfect number of ELS vehicles, but an AI went 0.0001m/sec too fast - crash. Look at it funny - crash. I know GTA V's port is more robust, but does ELS still affect the stability much? Performance isn't much of an issue, my rig's mid-upper-end, but it's stability that's my main question. 2.- So ELS works in conjunction with the vanilla emergency lighting? 3.- The default bind in GTA IV was Ctrl-M, but the 'ctrl' bit was mapped as a generic 'ctrl key' rather than a specific one, which would cause the info panel's key combination to be unresponsive if you would go to open the panel. I found a workaround and still have that flowchart handy, but will I need it, or is GTA V's key detection good enough that it won't really be necessary? 4.- Ah, shame. I'll rock it for a while and see how well it suits me, but if push comes to shove, I can rock a Charger. 5.- Alright, that's good to know.
  15. Hello, I'm finally getting ready to dip my toes in the world of ELS-V. I'm not a stranger to ELS - I've fiddled around with ELS-IV (GTA4), and even made the corona flashers video before you could switch them on the fly, but I've never touched ELS-V. Besides the obvious 'get vehicles equipped with ELS', what other things should I be aware of in the transition between ELS-IV and ELS-V? Does ELS-V still destabilise the game as much as it did for IV, or is V's port stable enough for that? Will ELS-V conflict with a custom carcols.yml (that adds headlight flashers to the vanilla cars, and makes all the siren_ lights have env lighting)? Does ELS-V have ELS-IV's issues with the default binding for the info panel? Does anyone know of a lore-friendly ELS pack or vehicles that they can recommend? I'm not looking for anything too flashy (hell, I was rocking Lundy's sheriff Esperanto when I last played), more utilitarian. Edit: - Also, is it as easy as it was in ELS-IV to turn off ELS for a vehicle slot, if I don't have a replacement vehicle for it yet? Thanks, and I apologise to the modstaff if this is in the wrong section.
  16. I don't like this idea, for one reason: As LMS stated, if you were able to get your game to run smoothly with certain mods, it's best to compile a modlist and share that - this'll let people pick and choose what mods they run, as well as add their own if they want. In addition, let's say I have a file that for some reason I decide I don't want publicly available. If it's in someone else's modpacks, now I have to track down the modpacks and have them remove the mod, taking more time and effort out of my day when if it's just a modlist I can easily have it de-listed. And if the modpack author doesn't and I still want it removed, it opens a WORLD of legal headache to something that really shouldn't have it.
  17. I'm late, but [8/5/2019 6:16:14 PM.003] Command line option -enableCounterMeasuresAgainstOnlineVehicleRemoval is specified; enabling counter measures against removal of online vehicles in singleplayer. Enabling countermeasures is usually a quick way to enter Youcrashistan. If your (root)/RagePluginHook.log mentions an illegal memory access violation, uncheck that box in RPH's settings; it's very likely that could be your issue.
  18. The GTA modding community is one of the more vitriolic ones out there. It's part of the reason I never picked up Zmodeller. It's not as bad as it used to be, but it's still not great.
  19. You cannot replace a lightbar (the physical object) using OpenIV; you'll need zmodeler in order to do that. Replacing sirens (the sound) is mostly editing your x64/audio/sfx/RESIDENT.rpf file; this is a bit more involved and involves extracting everything to a folder, replacing the file hash you want to change (see this thread for more information) and going back to your modded RESIDENT.rpf and right-click > "Import OpenFormats...", then selecting the folder.
  20. It will be somewhere in your GTA install directory. If you're using Steam, you can right-click GTA 5's entry, select 'properties', then go to the 'local data' tab (between 'updates' and 'language') and it should be the top option. My client is in German and using a skin, but I did confirm from a friend that this is still accurate for Steam's baseline skin.
  21. The lightbar will not function as intended (or at all) and will probably have random lights lit. I'm not familiar with the intricacies of ELS-V versus ELS-IV as I've only used the latter, but if the *.meta files are set correctly, then the sirens should work properly. But yes, the vehicles themselves will be perfectly drivable and usable in patrols and such.
  22. A decent portion of their players are American. (01:00 in London is 20:00 in New York, or 17:00 in Los Angeles.)
