  1. I'd say that this would be your best bet, then. Best of luck to you.
  2. Personally, every NVIDIA card I've used has been rock solid. Thus, I'm a little biased. However, you generally want a card with a higher bit interface. With a 128 bit on the NVIDIA, I would choose that. On a side note, I'm a little skeptical about GTA IV on a laptop, but a second gen i5 may be able to handle it, even if it is a mobile platform. Don't expect killer frame rates with high detail though..... GTA IV is not meant for a laptop at all. Been building computers for years, Intel + NVIDIA has always been my go-to combo.
  3. Turn on "View Hidden folders" under folder options in the Windows control panel.
  4. Sounds like a Federal Signal Omega siren. Linky here. yes, I said linky.
  5. You need to buy it. You can't use a pirated version of GTA IV either, you must have a LEGAL copy to get any help around here. Those be the rules. EDIT: Since this is a mod for GTA IV, you must have GTA IV in order to run LCPD:FR.
  6. All he needed was to fix a problem with an ASI loader. He has GTA IV.

  8. Personally, my PC is the only thing I will use to play games on. Does a fine job. Some PCs aren't good at all for games, but you'd be surprised how many can handle games.
  9. Think someone asked this before, but I'm not sure. I believe that the game randomly will decide, when you call for a medic, if one will appear or not.
  10. I have a feeling this could be really beneficial to some people who are grasping at straws for better frame rates. Nice post.
  11. Then you most likely don't have a trainer installed. It can be very fun to experiment with, you can spawn random things, blow up nearest cars, et cetera. The console they mentioned is built in to LCPDFR so just press the ~ key on your keyboard and type heal. ELS is a mod that allows for more realistic lighting, and again you would know if you have it because you would have had to install it, and you would need to have downloaded extra vehicles.

  13. Simple Native Trainer (SNT), which Sniper referred to, can be found here. This also contains all of the basic hotkeys, etc for the trainer. Note that hotkeys have to be turned off in the settings if you are using ELS! Find this line in trainer.ini (or trainertbogt.ini / trainertlad.ini): KeyBindingsDisabled=0 //Key Bindings (except menu keys) disabled on startup in the correct config file for simple native trainer, set it to KeyBindingsDisabled=1
  14. ELS V6 has been known to cause some issues for some people. I used to use V6 but it would crash my game so I moved down to V5 and haven't had a real crash in a while. Might be worth trying V5 and seeing if anything changes. I may have also removed excess car mods at the same time that I switched versions, but I'm not 100% sure.
  15. Okay, I thought that might have been it. Thanks.
  16. I apparently have over 530 "accidental" kills. However, my only question is, what exactly qualifies as an accidental kill? Does a suspect have to be killed while attempting to arrest, or does a random civilian just have to be killed? I'm not sure how I managed to rack up 530ish kills (though I'm not really complaining). Any input would be appreciated. I tried searching for an answer but I couldn't find one, so I hope I'm not duplicating. I'm really just curious more than anything. Great job on the mod, keep it up.
  17. I'm sure that somebody could probably come up with a script to do that, perhaps. I'm not sure how easy it would be though. Traffic scripts aren't usually easy from what I've heard.

  19. Try setting this in your ELS.ini file: ToggleSirens = 82 // G by default 82 means it will be the "R" key that will turn on various different settings, such as Wail, and Yelp. Refer to the codes at the bottom to pick the key that would work best. Not sure if that helped, but feel free to ask more questions.
  20. I have 8GB of RAM on my machine, and yet sometimes the textures will stop loading. It hasn't done it in over a week, but I still don't know what causes it. I'm pretty sure my computer can handle it. On a side note, my RAM usage can be at about 25% after a boot, but if I go to standby and then wake my computer, it drops to about 13% usage. Think this little thing with Windows could play into the texture problem? Perhaps running GTA IV after a standby would fix it.... but I digress.
  21. You can also go into the SNT config file (trainer.ini) and set "KeyBindingsDisabled=1" <div><br></div><div>Use this if the SNT menu can not be used effectively because of the key conflicts.</div>
  22. Actually part of that was my bad. I meant to say GTA IV main directory rather than EFLC.
