In neither of those riots were people killed. In the LA riots 50 were killed by mob attacks and shootings.

I wouldn't necessarily say that they have acces to certain tools. Whether they have tools or not, they'll still commit crime and break things. Police have the equipment that they currently possess because it's helped save countless lives. When a hostage situation is reported, I don't mind seeing a few snipers on the roofs, or an armored truck, or police officers with assault rifles and grenade launchers. I'm not saying that if a criminal throws a punch, the police should launch a grenade launcher. That's above and beyond retarded. We've seen what can happen when the police aren't as equipped as the criminal, and the goal here is for police to ALWAYS be better equipped than everyone else. As 13ubba said, the police don't just sit around and wait until something happens. They respond, ready to do their job and keep the peace. Once police start running up and down the street beating and murdering people at random, then I'll support removing these tools. I also think that people are underestimating the capabilities of a riot. A riot is a complete state of lawlessness on a massive scale. Not sure how things are in Sweden or Australia but in the United States, rioters like to throw things. They like to throw things at moving vehicles. They like to throw things at moving, under armored, police vehicles. I recommend you try to drive through an anti-police riot with a standard police cruiser. I don't think you'd get very far. Plus, armored vehicles provide easy transportation for riot officers. I don't think 15 officers can fit in a regular police car. Why send multiple cars when you can send one truck? I just can't see any logic here. Also, these rioters are criminals. They don't give a flying pile of poop what happens. They want to commit crime. They want to see chaos. They want to see destruction. It's like trying to convince Adolf Hitler that all people were created equal. It just won't work. Their goal is to rob and steal and kill and burn and destroy. The only way to fight behavior like this is with more force and power. It's like trying to fight ISIS with diplomacy. Diplomacy isn't their goal, and it's not what they care about.

What's something childish that you never stopped doing?
As younger children we all did things childish, obviously. It only makes sense; but some of us never stopped doing certain things. What are some thins you did as a child, and still do to this day? I'll share a few, because I honestly don't really care if you have this information about me. I'm not embarrassed about it, but you don't have to share what you aren't comfortable sharing. Please keep it appropriate too, by the way. A few things I still do that I did as a child: Clap intentionally louder and longer than everyone elseAttempt to screw up a group countdown by saying random numbersWhen someone asks me to hand them something, I grab it and put it farther than it originally was. Then I give it to the person and laugh.I still find myself giggling at things I find funny.

As BlackJesus1 said, violence is actually on a sharp decrease in the United States. Every country has different crime because every country is different. As I've said before, what American police may fear is something that police in France may not even think about. Police should always try their best to keep the peace, but that doesn't mean that police should just sit by and take it up the butt. If a crime is committed, then the criminal is going to suffer the consequences. If large groups of people decide to commit crime, then they'll be dispersed and punished accordingly. Sometimes the problem to solving crime isn't as easy as changing something, and most of the time it isn't. The United States has a history of devastating riots. I previously mentioned the 98' riots, 50 people were killed during those riots. The National Guard was called in. The Ferguson riots, the National Guard was called in because the Chief of Police said that the department could not contain the riots. The National Guard was shot at. If the police were able to contain the 98' riots, 50 people probably wouldn't have been killed. If the police were able to contain the Ferguson riots, the Chief of Police for Ferguson wouldn't have said, "We are not able to contain the rioting", and the National Guard wouldn't have been called in. What police do in other countries is irrelevant to what police should do here in the United States. Police here will do what they feel is necessary, and if they think that an armored car is necessary, then more power to them. At the end of the day, we have to continue to live here in the United States, not those of you outside of the United States saying that the equipment they use isn't necessary. It's not like the police are programmed robots designed to murder innocent people left and right. They have families, friends, homes, children, and lives as well. At the end of the day, most of them only want what the people want. A peaceful, safe, and friendly environment; and when you have people setting things on fire, it becomes less and less possible. If an armored truck is the quickest and easiest way to help bring peace, then send in two of em'.

Website crashes on mobile
Just a thought, sometimes during the day the website runs a bit slow on my laptop. I think when the site runs a little slow on my laptop, when I use my phone it causes a crash. I'm not sure and I haven't tested this but just something I thought about. I'll test it and see if it's true when I can. Thanks for the responses.

Website crashes on mobile
I currently use the iPhone 6, and I have access to a Samsung Galaxy S6. These are the newer phones in the United States at the moment, so I assume that they are decent phones. I get the same crashes at the same times on both devices.

What are your pet peeves?
I always enjoy when a bus tries to make a 90 degree turn down a one lane street in either direction. They crawl up the curb and sideswipe civilians standing by, usually take out a light pole or two, and they smash into the car waiting on the other side of the street. LOL. Have you ever been on the broker bridge when cars are speeding and randomly decide to change lanes? They slam into each there and spin out. It's a complete joke, lmao. One thing I'll miss about GTA 4 is the humor in it.

Website crashes on mobile
I've been experiencing some issues with the website crashing on its mobile version. The crashes usually happen when on a topic with more than 30 replies, when browsing the forum while not connected to wifi, or responding to a large quoted post. The effect of these crashes vary from a crash back to my browsers home screen, or a crash back to my device home screen altogether. I am currently using the website with the Dolphin Browser, a very similar setup to Google Chrome. I've never experienced any issues with crashing in the past. The reason why I suspect it may be tied to this website specifically is because I only experience crashes on LCPDFR.com. It might be something on my end, or it might now. Either way I just wanted to give the development team a heads up.

I don't mean to debate with you, but it's the little things you people say in your posts that I always disagree with. "Our country was built on civil disobedience", not technically. Historically speaking, our country was built on freedom, rights, and immigration. Everyone has contributed to the success of this country so that it can be considered the land of opportunity, and the land of freedom. Civil disobedience has contributed to achieving civil rights and equality, but America wasn't necessarily built on civil disobedience.

You seem to forget that civil disobedience isn't necessarily legal. Civil disobedience is the act of peacefully defying a law or regulation that you deem inappropriate or wrong. This can include being naked on your front porch, or walking down the middle of the street. It's still against the law, and you'll be dealt with accordingly

20 May - 9 New Screenshots!
Will LSPDFR be compatible with first person mode? Something that would be balls awesome is if we could physically look at our police computer in first person in the car, and it would be all interactive. . That would be amazing.

9 Dead, 18 Injured in 4 sided Texas Biker Gang/Police Shootout
Actually, articles suggest that most of the bikers were shot by police, and stabbed by rival gangs. What we do know is that by the end of this entire situation we had 9 people dead. What we don't know is the number that died of gun shot wounds, and by who? It's always a possibility that some of the bikers were shot by police. These news articles are written in a way that is deliberately misleading for people that lack the ability to think.

It's not, lol. You were the one that made a comment when I said that I felt his approval rating might be slightly affected by this. :P You just kinda beat a dead horse when you responded, lol.

49% as a standard approval rating isn't a very good standard, I would think lol. According to this website, the average presidential approval rating is about 54%, meaning more than half. Obama's is 49%, meaning less than half. http://www.gallup.com/poll/116677/presidential-approval-ratings-gallup-historical-statistics-trends.aspx

Not really, an approval rating is completely relevant; and it usually don't go up and down as much as it has for Obama. Obama's approval rating has remained at about 49% since he's been in office. It's always been a constant vast majority that don't agree with him. Not a good thing at all.
-
Obama restricts military-type gear police can have
Not really relevant. He still has an approval rating of 49%, and you can't win a presidential election with 49% of the votes. I definitely regret voting for him, and I was smart enough to not make the same mistake twice.

Well, as you said yourself, people don't really want to hear about peaceful protests. If I recall correctly, in the past you claimed that you were part of a media outlet or something. You said that you only reported on what people wanted to hear.

I'm curious to see the approval rating of our renowned president after this move. Before, he had the record breaking approval rating of 47%.
