  1. I also believe that the media is playing into the issue. The media sees that anything related to police using, what appears to be, excessive force creates conversation, and thus generates revenue. Therefore, they report on it as much as they can, which has its pros and cons. We get to hear about the actions of our law enforcement, but they take a lot of issues and cause division in the country with them.
  2. I don't find it the least bit challenging to trust in the police. Of course, there are a few bad apples in every organization and that's worldwide. According to statistics, American police have actually reached record approval ratings. It appears that as more cases of alleged police brutality arise, the popularity of law enforcement increases.
  3. It just doesn't seem feasible at all. Maybe it would be easy to do in Europe, but I imagine it would be nearly impossible to accomplish in the US.
  4. I just stumbled across a relatively interesting report (or several for that matter). Apparently, the U.K. is planning to completely ban cars that run on gasoline by the year 2040. Apparently, the car industry in the U.K. feels that the demand for electric cars will reach a tipping point, and the desire for gasoline vehicles will diminish. Is this really a legitimate thing in the U.K.? http://money.cnn.com/2017/07/26/news/uk-bans-gasoline-diesel-engines-2040/index.html http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news/uk-to-ban-internal-combustion-engines-by-2040/ar-AAoRBgW?OCID=ansmsnnews11 http://www.reuters.com/article/us-britain-autos-idUSKBN1AB0U5 http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-40723581
  5. I'd say it's more a matter of semantics and additionally a matter of perspective, adding onto what @Hystery stated earlier. (I quoted you because I find it to be proper etiquette for someone to be aware that you're addressing them or something they've said)
  6. hom·i·cide [ˈhäməˌsīd] NOUN the deliberate and unlawful killing of one person by another; murder: The deliberate and unlawful killing, not just killing someone. Unless the dictionary definition is wrong and needs to be updated. I am in no way questioning your intelligence. It's just that I can't stand to believe something when evidence is literally pointing elsewhere. If you tell me to go left and everything else under the sun is telling me to go right, I'm going to go right.
  7. Also, share your thoughts on this image. Legacy Nazi Zombie players know exactly what I'm talking about.
  8. Not exactly true. By definition, a homicide is the deliberate and unlawful killing of one person by another. It's a synonym for murder. Self-defense can be considered homicide, but it would depend on the circumstances surrounding each individual case.
  9. That's worldwide brother, hoping that things get better there. You can disagree with something without attacking the police and destroying your own city, though this seems to happen every time the G20 is hosted.
  10. It will work, but you will still experience a few malfunctions within the software. You could have the best computer possible and you would still run the chance of a crash.
  11. My GPU is a 960, generation is i5, and 8GB RAM. You'll be fine man.
  12. I always enjoy watching the police handle riots. Those of us that don't sit around all day and walk the streets all night (because we actually have things to do) appreciate it. The water cannons seemed to be efficient in clearing the rioters out, hopefully, we get to see more of them in action. People have work in the morning and they don't have time to sit in traffic all day. I say good work on German law enforcement and Godspeed to them!
  13. Not sure why, but the soundtrack has really gotten to me recently. Can't stop listening to it..
  14. I watch this, does this count as anime? Am I a part of the community?
  15. NATO swiftly takes control of the hill, as North Korea does nothing to stop it. NATO's hill.
  16. It's the 4th of July. The United States government has claimed this hill. America's hill.
  17. Inactivity, I am the OP. My hill.
  18. Well, small correction. Police support has actually been increasing.
  19. I'm familiar with the Alienware systems, but not the Aleinware. Is that some sort of new German manufacturer, or German version of Dell's gaming sector? Of course, you're free to purchase whatever you like, but be advised that you that you can build (and even purchase) a better computer for less than what Alienware wants to charge. I speak from experience, I made the mistake of spending $1,300 on the old Alienware 13. I thank God every day that I purchased the warranty plan along with the system because I've had non-stop issues with this laptop. The first issue that I had, it wouldn't start. I called up Alienware support and they sent out some local mediocre technician that replaced my motherboard and wiped the system. It solved the problem but shit, you know? I lost everything, from my Grand Theft Auto V to my Arma 3, to my system settings... everything. A few months later I had an issue with the sound, contacted Alienware support, had a mediocre technician (the same one lol), and he replaced a few parts, which again caused my system to wipe. Once again, lost everything, right after reinstalling it all from the time prior. It doesn't end there, friend. Just this past week I've had an issue with my system crashing at the Windows 10 login screen. The system would boot up normally and crash seconds after getting to the login screen. I called Alienware support, and the man over the phone walked me through some troubleshooting steps. He concluded that, yet again, my system needed to be reset. I'm in the process of installing all of my files on an external storage so that I don't have to deal with this anymore. Moral of the story, I don't recommend purchasing an Alienware system man. I've had a horrible experience dealing with Alienware, and I'm set to sell this laptop and build my own PC. It will be cheaper, more powerful, and more personalized to my own taste. Do what you like, but just consider so that you don't end up disappointed, because Alienware is offering me about $50 for my system, and I only bought it about a year ago.
  20. Same thing occurred several times back when I was in high school, especially on 4/20. You'd see the slicktop black trucks outside the building and randomly throughout the day the school would go on complete lockdown. Doors locked, windows covered, lights off, everyone in a classroom. Police swept the school with dogs. I remember my senior year we had a sweep. Total of 6 busts that day. No warrants, no warnings, nothing. The idea behind it is that if you're on school property using school lockers, you lose your 4th amendment on school grounds. Just a search of the school, though no one was patted down individually unless they were suspected of having drugs. It's totally normal for the Police to do it, at least in my home state.
  21. Of course, I'm not saying that law enforcement is never responsible for a poor community-department relationship. All I'm saying is that it goes both ways. Just as it's not always the community that's at fault, it's not always law enforcement that's at fault either. There are multiple sources of police hatred within the United States based on my observations. Police brutality isn't always the source of hatred towards police but often times is, debatably. Sometimes it's simply ignorance within the community and a lack of respect for authority period among the residents'. A poor job of parenting leading to senseless actions by immature and naive kids, for example. Kids decide to hit the streets and steal some candy from a corner store. Of course, the kids are caught, the police are called, and charges may (or may not) be filed. After a run-in with law enforcement on such a negative note, do you think those particular kids are going to have a very favorable view of law enforcement in the future? I'd assume not, especially if the involved officers decide to profile the kids in the future. Now the parents are wondering why the police took the situation that serious, or maybe the parents support the police at that point. It can work both ways too. The point being, there are too many variations to a community-law enforcement relationship. You can't just say, "Oh, it's the police's fault". The picture is bigger than that, friend. That's just a small example of how hatred towards police can simmer within a community. A small incident like that can completely change someone's perspective of the police, even if they are in the wrong for violation of the law. I don't know how you would expect the police to fix that type of relationship. You broke the law, you suffered the consequences, you now dislike the police, and the police are expected to make you like them again somehow?
  22. Give or take, I agree. All I'm going to say in response to that is that it isn't always the fault of the department that the relationship is bad.
