About three days ago, Activision released a first-look trailer to the new highly anticipated Call of Duty: WWII video game. I've posted the official reveal trailer below and I've included a small poll to help organize your initial thoughts. How do you think this will compare with Battlefield 1, and their approach on WWI?

According to Activision, Call of Duty: WWII has been in development since before Battlefield 1 was even initially announced. Personally, I'm pumped for this new Call of Duty. It's a nice change from the futuristic stuff we've been seeing for a while. I think back on Call of Duty: World at War and how amazing of a game that was and it really gets me pumped for this new Call of Duty. I'm also a bit bored of Battlefield 1. It was a fun game for a while but it's gotten to be very repetetive.

The first Call of Duty game I ever played was Call of Duty 2 back in 2005. I never actually finished the game (mostly due to my ultra suckage at the time), but it was memorably enjoyable nonetheless. I eventually became a more "serious" Call of Duty player as I grew a bit older with the release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2009. I enjoyed the modern theme and relatively engaging story that the game presented at the time. I completed the MW2 campaign several times, eagerly awaiting the sequel. Then Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 released in 2011. I was excited to wrap up the story and have a lot of my questions answered, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed MW2. I never actually played MW1 and I may go back especially since it has been remastered. I pretty much dropped off from Call of Duty after that, I briefly got into the Black Ops games but I thought they were kinda trashy.

Is it goin' be available for PS3 as well as the 4? I love the games on my 3 too much to get rid of it

I would assume not. When I visited Gamestop earlier today the back of the box said it would be a PS4 exclusive for the Beta, and release dates for other platforms are TBA.

I don't play Beta anyway it's too buggy. If not available for PS3 I might pick it up for PC

I don't understand the point of signatures on this site. What the fuck is the point?

Especially since (to my knowledge) you have to pre-order the game, which is currently priced at $100.

Edit: Ah my mistake, that was for the deluxe version. The regular version is priced at the normal $59 at Walmart.

I'm excited, as I loved the old World at War. I really hope this game has a zombies mode, but that's usually Treyarch's thing. Infinity Ward made a decent zombie's mode for Infinite Warfare... but Sledgehammer's zombie mode in Advanced Warfare was horrible. I hope they learned from their mistakes.

Trailer looks amazing! That's what trailers do. I don't really care about the game, though, as I don't pay full price for a 5-hour campaign and a multiplayer where I get doomed. :D

Why is it that nobody ever mentions the survival mode of MW3? The one where you fight off people instead of zombies? I really like(d) that one. Keep buying dem turrets!
But it does look like they're going to try something new with the adversarial multiplayer, with their 48-player thing.

Given I'm a bit of a World War II history buff at-least when it comes to vehicles, seeing the hull mounted MG and drivers port on the wrong side of the Panzer IV and the Ju-87s firing their 37mm gun-pods like a machine gun triggered me pretty hard. I know it's not meant to be realistic, but come on, at-least model your vehicles correctly if you're going to set your game in that period.

Oh my god, I loved that!

Can someone explain what's so great about the deluxe version, that is has to be $100?

I think it's mirrored. It probably will be right in the actual game. Note how the commander's hatch is also on the opposite side. <I'm a fucking moron

The commander's cupola sits right in the middle of the turret roof at the back of the turret, not off to one side. If you look the rounded vent thing (I honestly have no idea what that is) just above the gun is also off to the left slightly, so it can't be mirrored or that's on the wrong side too.

The trailer looked good - though from the trailer it does seem like it is only focused on one Division, that being the 1st Infantry Division, which is cool and all but I'd rather it follow several divisions from the different countries involved in World War II, both the Allies and the Axis. I'd love to be able to fight in North Africa and in Greece, I feel that is something that would make the game really interesting.

I've been playing Day of Infamy a lot recently and this is kind of what I'd hope it was like - you could be fighting during d-day one match then the next you are fighting in Greece and so on. If a game is to be called Call of Duty WWII, I'd hope they'd actually put in multiple conflicts and multiple countries, that would be something that would make me really want to play this game.

🕵️‍♂️ Always watching, always waiting.
