NYPDDetectiveODonnell replied to NYPDDetectiveODonnell's topic in General & Miscellaneous Discussion:) Your opinion but remember the more criminals on the street the more officers who's live are in danger. Why not help them and make your job easier to give you and other officers a bigger chance to return home to their families. And if officer sign this petition it would show that officers are not against the people. Help us so we can help you come on man.

NYPDDetectiveODonnell replied to NYPDDetectiveODonnell's topic in General & Miscellaneous DiscussionThe certification does not erase the felony still giving employers a chance to see it on record. Employers can then see it make up another excuse but really being refusing the potential employee for the felony. This program would ensure that the felony is expunged completely and not on public record. It also has many other benefits along with this.

Idea
Hello everyone I was playing the new version of lcpdfr and I must say its awesome. I came up with an idea to hopefully get added on. Ok so you get a call of a fight in progress and you arrive at the scene either to find a guy beating up a woman, or man you arrest the person and take him to the squad car but before you take him you ask the victim to stay put or follow you to take a statement of what happened. The animation would be the same as the citation you would see a clipboard appear. Or you could take the victim to the station and then have police escort him to make the statement in sort of a cutscene mode. We could also make it as to where the suspect has already fled when arriving at scene this way when you ask the victim to make a statement it would seem more realistic. what do you think guys?

Officers Shoot Man With Gun As Ferguson Protests Turn Violent, Again
Although you have a right to say what you will, In my humbled opinion, it is these type of responses that make police look bad. What should be said is Yes the guy had a gun and we are trained to neutralize the threat that may be harmful to us and the people altogether. However my prayers go to the family who had to lose their son this way. Very unfortunate tragedy This is they way a real officer should respond. I wonder how you would feel if a fellow cop shot and killed your son and this is how he responded: Kudos to the officer for a good shot, taking another criminal off of the streets, and coming out alive in such a hostile political climate. I wonder who's side you'd be on?

NYPDDetectiveODonnell replied to NYPDDetectiveODonnell's topic in General & Miscellaneous DiscussionPersonally, the (highly legitimate, IMO) idea of a second chance aside, I'm really not sure how making it nearly impossible for a felon to find legitimate employment is supposed to discourage them from committing more crimes. Well sir the government cant even prevent crime from occurring. Crime is much like racism you can calm it but you can't ever stop it. If people feel that felons are incapable of becoming productive citizens in a productive society, why let them out? We would not let a lion out of the jungle into a city district of people would we? No. Also look at the inmates in prison who spent years of their life behind bars only for the government to find out that the persons never even committed the crime. Should the attorney prosecutor, the police officer who made the arrest, and the judge be placed behind bars? No fact is people make mistakes.

NYPDDetectiveODonnell replied to NYPDDetectiveODonnell's topic in General & Miscellaneous DiscussionThank you. You see this program would also stop other issue a felon may have. For instance: If a person was convicted of controlled substances abuse, after he/she is required to stay clean for 5 years straight I highly doubt they could remember the drugs they used much less go back to that life. 5 years is a long time to stay clean and if they complete it you know they will stay clean.

NYPDDetectiveODonnell replied to NYPDDetectiveODonnell's topic in General & Miscellaneous DiscussionI want to thank everyone for their input. The bill would work much like rehab. After felons are released, or served probation, they will have a choice to either stay a felon, or join a mandatory 5 year community service program. Included in the program felons will have to speak with current criminals in prison facilities encouraging them or giving them hope to come out a become productive. Felons who join the program will have to stay clean, and receive random drug testing for entire 5 year period. Those who cannot complete the program will fail and have the choice of coming back in the following 2 years. Once the felon completes the program he or she shall receive a certificate of completion signed by the Governor of the state or president, In where a graduation ceremony will be held upon completion. This will erase the prior conviction and allow the felon to start fresh. Felons who need not apply: Repeat offenders Murders

NYPDDetectiveODonnell replied to NYPDDetectiveODonnell's topic in General & Miscellaneous Discussion:) So you don't believe its possible for an automatic airsoft pistol to propel more than one bb? Yes that was me you were referring to. The kid was playing with the pistol I took the pistol away from the child, placed the pistol in safety and using poor judgment I did not take notice that the poor child might have been standing there in front of it and I tested the gun to see if it would lock and in exploded releasing 3 bb into the child's back. I took the child to his parents and stayed and cooperated with law enforcement. The only reason I was convicted was because I took a plea bargain out of fear. I was not as wise to the law as I am now, and I was not a criminal prior to the incident. Look there are many police officer who murdered young men against their will stating that their gun accidentally fired and police carry semi automatic pistols. those officers are still on duty with their department. Now they don't deserve second chances. Taylor swift? Heck yeah man :)

NYPDDetectiveODonnell replied to NYPDDetectiveODonnell's topic in General & Miscellaneous DiscussionOh thank you so much, You don't know how much that meant to me. Yes I am doing my best to reform felons. I feel that for every felon I help form crime can decrease. Again thank you again. Hopefully if I get enough signatures I can complete my life long journey of becoming a police officer. Who knows highly unlikely but its worth a try right? :) P.S. I wish I can take it all back and start over. Thank you so much for your imput. The bill would work much like rehab. After felons are released, or served probation, they will have a choice to either stay a felon, or join a mandatory community service program. Included in the program felons will have to speak with current criminals in prison facilities encouraging them or giving them hope to come out a become productive. NYPDDetectiveODonnell replied to NYPDDetectiveODonnell's topic in General & Miscellaneous DiscussionTake a look at the quote you posted, and tell me if it relates to exactly why I'm doing the petition. Just as your quote states trying one more time. Meaning people deserve a second chance. Leave the judging up to God. :)

Petition
Hello LCPDFR family, So I was thinking about petition and I came across an idea to start a petition that would help felons get back on track and become productive citizens. With this petition the federal government if willing can propose a bill called the F.R.B.( Felon reform bill). I was wondering if some of you police officer would help me out with signatures. I know alot of you police officer have hearts, and know that there are many felons who so desperately want to change. I am one myself. I support the police each and every year. I am a supporter of the "fraternal order of police" I make my pledge every year. So I am now asking many of you officer to support me, and many other felons who are ready to make change and once again become productive citizens. Thank You O'Donnell
