A Law Enforcement Career
Yeah those guns are also used whenever we do trainings as police explorers. It's so people don't have to carry an actual firearm but have the feeling that they are because it weighs about the same as a real one, and is shaped like one. Yeah It was apart of their hiring process. He said there'd be about 500+ applicants, they'd go in for tests and what have you. And a large majority would either drop out or be kicked out due to their past history (Criminally). Yeah it's definitely better to be hired by a department then go through training. That's what we do. We hire people, they become "recruits" and ride along with all sorts of officers (And they don't wear uniforms, or guns. Just regular clothing) until the academy starts up.

Does your game let you into the game, and then move around for a few seconds. (10-30 seconds) and then crash? That's what mine's been doing but I think that may just be a old graphics card that I need to update.

A Law Enforcement Career
Most departments prefer it but it's not required. Some departments are mostly PC bs where they get what'll make the public happy. (More female officers, minorities) and so soldiers sometimes add into the mix well for being well-trained and shows that they can do what they're told, and follow orders good. I have a SRO who used to be a Marine and before he was an SRO he was on our SWAT, Counter-terrorism unit, and a few other things. (The man is a true god, that also just recently got into a pursuit with bank robbers... True role model of mine anyhow) It's not a requirement however it shows good things for yourself. It doesn't change much though except that you don't usually have to train much on shooting. However most State Troopers/Highway Patrols require that you have either 2 years past Law Enforcement, Military experience or 60+ college class hours. Military Law Enforcement is SOOO different than civilian. If you'd really like to become an officer and not do much with the military or anything else that would "further" your career... Become a dispatcher for awhile, get to know the codes. The officers. Your City. And then apply maybe get accepted and then go through the academy... Now for the academy, My department uses our community college as a place to house the academy training at. However since it's a community college we tend to allow recruits to go home every night. It's also about 4 months if I believe? It's pretty easy & quick... Now from what I've heard you do LOADs of law studying which is the majority of the hard work/tests. We had a Las Vegas Metro transfer and he said that the majority of his classmates dropped out or got kicked out from their past history (Any kind of arrests) and alot of the remaining people dropped out from all the tests. Cause they'd do a test every single week. And above all that that's not including some of the shooting and what-not.

RCMP Move over Music Video? Thoughts?
Recently saw this on a few Police pages on facebook. Had some strong feelings from people on it. Some saying that they shouldn't do it, it was dumb to make it a music video. Shoulda showed real officers being hit or vehicles being smashed into to show the serious-ness. And then some comments saying it was great for them to do that as an awareness video. Thoughts? Feelings?

What do you think of a P71 as a first car?
Well yeah it ties in with 'D' though it's not really much of a "suck up"... It shows you support police while a CVPI would be alittle too much. There's a major difference though. There's people who support police, and have bumper stickers which are cool & sometimes you can get away with warnings cause of that. And then there's the CVPI people and it doesn't always end great. Some new officers might mistake you as a police imposter or definitely a wanna be. During a ridealong we actually passed someone in a CVPI and it was tricked out and I honestly didn't even think it was civilian. I thought it was Unmarked from the sheriff's fleet. But my officer already came across this person and knew who they were. The only thing you could tell that it wasn't a actual police car was because it didn't have exempt plates. It had antennas, rambar, double spotlights. I think a few things he had were aftermarket and didn't come with the car but he put on it... It kinda just ties in with the possibility of you being harassed cause some civilians & cops may not know your civilian, but might be a police imposter. I thought about a crown vic for my first car... But honestly with everything it comes with. (Harassment, Danger, holes in the car from wires, and other vehicle faults from it being used all the time) it just wasn't worth it. If you really, truly plan on getting one & won't listen to anyone then try & get a Captain or Detective's vehicle. Someone who didn't use it as much. Even then so it's interesting. The Major at one of our stations, we used his car one time to go somewhere and it had rust on it, and wasn't the best at handling but that was about it. It didn't have a partition, spotlight or lots of holes since most of the lights were inside. (It was a unmarked)

Video I Made
Cool pack... Though I got one question. Ya'll can afford a motherfucking challenger but can't afford a newer caprice? (I saw like an old 90's or 80's one lmao) Some strange ass budget cuts.

What do you think of a P71 as a first car?
No. Fuck No. No. To the No. No. Sorry man but I think that'd be a major bad part on your end. I'll give some examples why it'd be bad. A. Usually if someone sees a CVPI or anything relating to a normal patrol car they either A. Slow down like crazy which in turn makes it suck ass for if you're trying to drive to somewhere in a quick pace. Or B. They think you're still a Cop (Kinda blends with A) and will either try & piss you off or do something else annoying. And then there's C. Cops... Cops (Most of them) hate people who drive CVPIs who aren't actual cops. Makes it seem like you're too much of a want-to-be. I've rode with a few officers in my explorers day and still ride with them. Stopped a few people in normal CVPIs just their everyday car and almost everytime I'm with an officer and they make contact it's a want-to-be officer. It just gets annoying. B. The cars complete shit. If it's a past police car then FML you're life. It's probably got 120k+ mileage which is real bad. My SROs has a crown victoria that he still uses and it's at about 115k and the wiring. Don't get me started. That's the shit. Floors have torn off, with wires popping out. Console would have to be taken out so you'd have nothing but space where a normal console would be. You'd have holes randonly in your car where wires used to be at. C. CVPIs for a personal car... If you're wanting to get on a cop's good side just get a normal car and get a few bumper stickers that say "I support my Sheriff" or "Blue lives matter" or "Future Police Officer on board". Trust me, It'll help you get away with warnings. I've had a few friends who were also explorers and had bumper stickers like that and got away with just warnings because the officer knew they were good kids & would probably be an officer like them D... Oh god. Just like the stickers it may cause problems for you though... I was actually talking to a police friend today matter of fact about this kinda thing. She has some bumper stickers that just say "Blue lives matter" and stuff. and she said the first few weeks she had those bumper stickers she got her car egged and said a few other friends had their windows smashed, and their cars keyed just because they support cops. Think about a CVPI... That'll get egged, keyed, windows smashed. Let's face it... Some people hate the cops and will do stupid shit like key your car at night and you can't do anything about it or whenever you're at school or something. Just don't get a CVPI... Get something generic like a literally anything but that. Save yourself money and problems. Good luck.

Sheriff Explorer, Could I do it?
16 people in your explorer group? And you're asking if you need to meet physical standards? Yeah, you should be good no matter what. I think we've got 60+ people but usually 15 or so show up... I'm not really the best when it comes to running but I can do fighting, and push ups and all the other shit no problem. Though, whenever I joined all I had to do was sign a big packet that had some background on me. I've yet to be asked to do physical standard tests and doubt it'd happen. I did however get asked to do it whenever I was a fire department explorer... And it was maybe 90* outside and usually whenever we do stuff physically it was in the full on fire gear so I was like yeah I'm not gonna have a ride tomorrow. Peace. But in all actuality you should be good man. I think they meant by "No major physical defects" Like seizures or something? Stuff that'd make it nearly impossible for you to do standard trainings or police work.

A Law Enforcement Career
Well this is coming from a 16 going on 17 year old... But I've already got my future planned. You've kinda* got two choices for law enforcement. It's the same for most departments, you've got to be 21 just to apply & get accepted. I'm not sure if it'd be the exact same for you guys but what my department does is we hire at 21 and then you ride along with officers ranging from SROs to Patrol to Traffic to Detectives and what-not till the academy starts then you get put into the academy... Though you're already "hired" as an officer. I'm a "Lab assist" or teacher helper for my SROs so I get to know alot of their stories and knowledge for my future and stuff and I talked to a police recruit (He was accepted into the department, hired as a "Officer" in training or recruit but he was waiting till the academy started which is kinda now/summer) and he said he went to A college and studied criminal justice or maybe it was reverse psychology. And then he said it'd probably be best to have a backup plan if you get injured you can't become an officer. You don't HAVE TO get a degree but departments LOVE guys who have them, especially more 'admin' kinda departments. If you're wanting to become an officer in a large city & don't want to get a degree kiss that dream goodbye (atleast for most cities). Smaller towns and communities hire less "educated" officers since they don't have the best recruiting pools. If you're 19 best I can say is to either become an intern or a 911 Operator till you're 21. That not only gives you an idea of how policing actually works but you get to work with some of the officers you may very well work with in the future as one but you also get an extra leg in the door since you'd be familiar with the department already. They much rather hire people who have degrees just for pure fact that they know you won't screw up as much (Atleast usually) Best I can say is go to your local community college, take some short classes (Atleast 62 hours? Most departments like highway patrols require 60+ hours to even apply plus it gives the idea that you actually WANT to become an officer)... Hopefully this all made sense. It's late & I've had a stressful day. I'll check back tomorrow & post more which'll probably make much more sense. Sheriff J.

Yes, I haven't gotten around to re-texturing the traffic units. So, I know it's an RCMP patch and what-not. Same with the Medic uniform. -
