You may have noticed that sometimes the "shots fired" call is a little further away. We will perhaps extend the maximum range for all callouts, and for some callouts -- such as backup requests which we will implement soon -- we will extend the maximum distance quite considerably. As Jay said though, Liberty City is heavily policed.

Sadly this happens on a small minority of systems. Can you post your specs as well as your GTA IV graphics options?
