  1. This is a troubleshooting procedure to stop ELS crashes. At first, AI vehicles will not be able to flash their lights, but you should be able to re-enable ELS Ai after trying the steps listed.
  2. Are the light textures all linked, and have a valid name? Also, diffrently named textures will flash differently depending on the flash patterns you set.
  3. What other modifications do you have installed? Can you please post all .log files?
  4. ELS crashing the game just before being spawned can easily be solved by following this tutorial: https://www.lcpdfr.com/page/tutorials/index.action/_/script-data-file-modification-tutorials/solving-els-v80-crashes-r112
  5. Because you have discovered that the Taser is related to your problem, I'd try installing the taser. There are two ways the taser can be installed: Using Advancedhookinit.asi with LCPD:FR (although it can cause crashes) and through manually installing (more stable) (see '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> to install). As long as you have a backup of the file's you are changing, I would try manually installing the taser. Besides that, I don't know the solution (sorry).
  6. This problem is characteristic of earlier versions of LCPDFR 1.0. Are you sure you have LCPDFR 1.0d?
  7. No one can help you much unless we have your .log files. These files are actually located in the GTA IV directory. Your "Directory," or location of all of your files related to your game, can be located in numerous places inside your computer's file system. You can try looking in [ C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IVGTAIV ] or search for Grand Theft Auto IV in your start menu, right clicking it, and left clicking "open file location". You can find the log files by going to the top left box, clicking on it, and typing ".log" (without the quotation marks). If you don't see any logs, it probalbly means you are missing a required dependincy (another program GTA IV relies on). Make sure you have installed Directx 9, Microsoft .NET, Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE, and Microsoft Gmes for Windows - LIVE Redistributable. To install these, simply do a google search and click on a link that goes to Microsoft's website. You can check if the programs are already installed by doing the following: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall or Change a Program.
  8. What does LCPDFR.log say? It's possible LCPDFR is not tracking the ped right, or giving it correct ownership. To be honest, I am not sure what the problem is. Have you tried reinstalling LCPD:FR?
  9. Can you please post your log files? Log files are text files in your GTA IV folder with .log on the end of them. Just search .log in your GTA folder, and post all .log files. You can also do some troubleshooting by launching LCPDFR Diagnostics Tool.exe, in the LCPDFR folder of GTA IV, and clicking "Check Your Installation." Also, try instaling these: .Net Framework 4.5, Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2012
  10. I think that if peds are set to not cooperate and require a taser, they won't respond to commands. I suggest that you just go up to the vehicle and pull the suspect out by pressing "F", and arrest him then.
  11. UPDATE Both the developers of LCPD:FR and ELS have fixed most of the problems outlined here in LCPDFR v1.1 and ELS v8.5 respectively. This guide still applies to 1.0d and earlier, as well as ELS v8.0 and earlier. Guide Summery This guide is designed to provide information on GTA IV crashing just before getting in game, or GTA IV crashing during gameplay, caused by ELS. Before performing the actions this guide, make sure you have done the following: Make sure you aren't using a crack Update GTA IV to 1.0.7.0 (the latest version of the game, or 1.1.2.0 for EFLC) - This sometimes fixes a wide variety of issues Make sure that you run the game as an administrator. Make sure that you are using the Advancedhooks and Scripthooks provided with LCPD:FR Delete AdvancedHookInit.asi (If present in main directory) Make sure that your GTA IV root folder (and every subdirectory) is not set to "read-only" Ensure that ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi and Dsound.dll OR Xlive.dll are in the GTA IV ROOT folder Ensure that there is a folder titled 'LCPDFR' in the ROOT GTA IV folder. Check that all the above files exist. If they do not, reinstall LCPDFR with the MANUAL installation. Ensure that you are using up to date versions of every LCPDFR dependency and LCPDFR itself. Install Net Framework 4.5 and Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2012 ELS Crashing This crash is typically caused by ELS Ai. This is ELS providing the same lighting to other vehicles. To confirm this is the problem, you can disable ELS Ai in the ELS.ini configuration file: ... [ MISC SETTINGS ] FlashSoundFx = on FlashDelay_Sp = 2 // (0-5) Lower value for faster ELS lights in SP FlashDelay_Mp = 2 // (0-5) Lower value for faster ELS lights in MP Els_Range_Pl = 800 Els_Range_Ai = 500 Ai_Els_Sp = on Ai_Els_Mp = on MaxElsCarsAtOnce = 20 ClearRandAiExtrasSp = on ClearRandAiExtrasMp = on ClearAiExtrasDist = 500 Lstg3LightsMoveTraf = off To disable ELS Ai, change Ai_Els_Sp and Ai_Els_Mp from on to off. This crash can also be caused by incompatibility between LCPD:FR and ELS. Simply reinstall LCPD:FR after you install ELS, or try changing AdvancedHook.dll between what is included with LCPD:FR and ELS. Further Troubleshooting If this solution gets you in game, but you want to re-enable ELS Ai, there are a number of solutions you can try in the following order: Disable ELS on NON-ELS vehicles in slotcontrol.ini Disable Cruise Lights in the vehicle configuration file Disable ClearRandAIExtras (If Above Works) Re-enable and reduce ClearRandAiExtras distance Reduce Els_Range_Ai Change ASI Loader AdvancedHook Crashing This problem is commonly seen the error "System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: Boolean AdvancedHookManaged..." Both ELS and LCPD:FR can crash without the correct Advancedhook. To correct the problem, just use the Advancedhook provided with LCPD:FR. You can obtain this through LCPD:FR's manual installation package, or just by reinstalling LCPD:FR. **GUDE STIll UNDER CONSTRUCTON**
  12. I've found that this problem can be solved by disabling ELS AI. If that works, try the following: Change ASI loader Disable ClearRandAiExtras Reduce ClearRandAiExtras distance Disable Cruise Lights Disable ELS on NON-ELS vehicles
  13. I've found that this problem can be solved by disabling ELS AI. If that works, try the following: Change ASI loader Disable ClearRandAiExtras Reduce ClearRandAiExtras distance Disable Cruise Lights Disable ELS on NON-ELS vehicles
  14. Because of the nature of ELS, you cannot damage your car. However, ELS v8.0 allows for damage. Check your ELS version, and update if necessary.
  15. If your are not going to do any content creation, an i5-4690k might be a less expensive but as powerful option. Intel's i7 processor has more cores in comparison to an i5, but these "cores" cannot be utilized by most modern games. Think of it this way: If you have one math problem, having more people in the same room won't help solve that problem faster unless each of them can be given a problem at the same time (which most games don't do for more than 4 cores). For now, 4 cores is the norm. If you want to stay with an i7, it doesn't need to be a x99 processor like the 5820k. A z97 i7 processor will be cheaper, and retain most of the performance of an x99. Spending $100 more on a graphics card will get you much more performance in a game then spending $100 extra for an processor with more cores and a more expensive motherboard. Again, having more cores isn't helpful unless you are using an application that can benefit, like Adobe's creative suite. In short, i5 for games, i7 for content creation.
  16. I seem to have an odd problem. For no apparent reason, GTA IV has severe texture loss. At first, textures would pop in and out between levels of detail, but then disappear altogether. I have used Large Address Aware to try and remedy the problem, but the texture popping would continue. I understand that my high game settings are part of the problem, but they should not pose as a problem in a computer as powerful as mine. How can I prevent this from happening? System Specifications: Intel Core i7-4790k @4.00ghz 8gb ram @1600mhz CL7 Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 (reference) Installed Modifications: CryENB with ELS v8.0 at High settings Indicator Script LCPD:FR 1.0d Yard1's LSPD Pack
  17. It can vary based on the television. Samsung Televisions typically have a button on their remotes that cycle through the picture sizes. For other TVs, the option is typically found under the menu somewhere. If your screen is not a TV, and a computer monitor instead, then the 1080p resolution you are trying to set your game at is probably not the correct resolution for your monitor. Refer to your monitor's manual to find the correct resolution. Keep in mind that if the resolution is changed after any script is started, pictures (such as the menu for VDH Policehelper) will appear out of place until the game is restarted.
  18. If you want to make a ELS model Non-ELS, then you need to replace the light bar of the vehicle with a non-els light bar. To do so, you must have an application that can edit .wtf files and an unlocked model. If you want ELS to have the same mechanics as the default siren, you can hit Ctrl+Bkspace to enable "express mode." What this does is sounds the siren and lights just by pressing the siren button, and changes the siren tone when the button is held down (just like default) If you want to disable ELS altogether on a particular vehicle, you can open SLOTCONTROL.ini in the ELS folder, and configure which vehicles have ELS.
  19. If it's multiple liveries your after, instead of multiple models, you can open the ".wtf" file, and replace one texture slot with the desired texture. Then, you can add "+livery" at the end of the line of the vehicle in vehicles.ide to enable GTA IV to use the installed liveries.
  20. If your TV has a picture size option, or an aspect ratio, change these until your game appears correctly.
  21. Also, you can run programs in compatibility mode by right clicking them, opening the properties window, going to compatibility, and setting it to Windows Vista SP2. If this solved your problem, please mark this post as "Best Answer" to mark this thread as solved.
  22. Unfortunately, LCPD:FR does not despawn police units in the area once the limit is reached. LCPD:FR will tell the game to stop spawning more cops after the number is greater than what you specified during a pursuit, but not beforehand. This means that if 20 Police Unis are in the vicinity already, they will join the pursuit. So, to reduce the number of Police Units, you can use Traffic Flow or edit popcycle.dat to reduce the amount of police units spawning.
  23. Please follow the forum guidelines posted as the following: Give a clear, detailed description of the problem. Explain any circumstances surrounding the problem. State what solutions you have tried. Post ALL relevant logs. Include as much information as possible. Make sure you aren't using a crack - We don't support cracks Update GTA IV to 1.0.7.0 (the latest version of the game, or 1.1.2.0 for EFLC) - This sometimes fixes a wide variety of issues Make sure that you run the game as an administrator. Make sure that your GTA IV root folder (and every subdirectory) is not set to "read-only" Ensure that ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi and Dsound.dll OR Xlive.dll are in the GTA IV ROOT folder Ensure that there is a folder titled 'LCPDFR' in the ROOT GTA IV folder. 24. Because of how demanding and poorly written GTA IV has been designed, a discrete graphics card is needed at the bear minimum. A low-end intergreated graphics solution will not suffice. If your computer is a desktop, and has a large capacity you can easily add a mid range graphics card.
