I like the driving pshysics, I think they're a bit of progression in the series. And due to the different terrains this game has, just imagine IV's exagerated body roll in Raton Canyon, now that would be hell because of all the bumpy roads and the hills. Plus not every vehicle really feels like a Grand Turismo, I got into a vehicle like the Bobcat and I literally was struggling to accelerate on it. Also I drove the LSPD Stanier and it felt slower, literally slower than the SD version and the Interceptor.
As for the damage, the damage model of the vehicles is quite good and really detailed plus dynamic meaning that only the area that was crashed will be affected and will deteriorate with a few more hits and it really depends on the type of vehicle you're using plus it's even more realistic because you will not send a vehicle flying and spinning around by having it crash with an APC. The best vehicle to cause damage with is the Rhino, there is no doubt to that but the belly is weak so if you ever use it you should watch out if vehicles explode under you. And I really like that effect where the wheels can go off, it's literally hard to drive without them.
