LSPDFR "official" plugins ?

Featured Replies

Hi, little suggestion for the LSPDFR developpement team. @Sam

It could be an interesting idea for you guys to develop some "official" plugins to expend the LSPDFR experience in an "optional" way, without any obligation for anyone to use it. It could be the addition of partners, of an expended traffic stop system, etc...

LSPDFR's clearly lacking of interesting content since the ""disapearance"" of people like BejoIjo or Albo. Also, i understand that you'd want to place the community first in regard of plugins' developement, so that's an idea that came up in my mind. These plugins could serve as a "template" for other plugins (like Stop the Peds did, with addon search items, etc), and even inspire future plugins developers.

Just so you're aware, Bejoljo didn't disappear, he moved to his own site where he houses his mods and updates them.

I know, but he's not as active as he was, most of his plugins haven't been updated for a while... 😕

That's main point of my suggestion, in fact. With "official" plugins, we could be sure they would be kept updated and that their devs wouldn't leave (retire ?) unexpectedly.

The core gameplay of LSPDFR really needs to be improved in my opinion. LCPDFR had a lot of interesting features that could be implemented in LSPDFR for example (a nice computer system, some more in-depth traffic stops mechanics, partners, etc).

They may not be updated frequently, but to my knowledge all of them still work, so I'm not really seeing the problem?

Well the problem seems fairly simple to me : the core gameplay of LSPDFR relies almost entirely on BejoIjo's plugins. As good as these plugins are, if the person behind them just decides to leave or retire, there's nothing we'll be left with. I am not the one who's saying it, just look at some youtubers, they all use them.

I mean... Nothing is certain, you know. Bejoijo could be capable to just remove all of his plugins in a sudden impulse at any time. He already did it, and it could be for good the next time. As much as i respect the work of Bejoijo, you can't entirely rely on someone as unstable (in term of "activity", i mean) as him to ensure the continuity of such important features.

I still don't see what the issue is.  Right now his plugins work fine, and there has been zero indication he will leave like albo did.  In additon, CompuLite, Bejoljo's mod, was updated on the 8th of this month.  While his updates may not be frequent, he is still around.  I think you need to just relax and enjoy the mods while they are here and working.  If and when the day comes Bejoljo stops updating, we can make a panic about it then.

I can see your point about DEV leaving and no longer having access to the mods that you have became dependent on, a lot of people went into panic mode when Bejoljo pulled his mods and they no longer had after a rebuild or whatever that's why I highly suggest keeping backups of all the mods you use in your build that way no matter what you have them unless they are no longer compatible. But rest assured that someone would step up if these mods were no longer available and build something to replace it, I'm sure. I also agree with Reddington and don't see what the panic is, the mods are still available, they are being updated when needed, they work great with current/latest version. Albo moved on but he open sourced all his mods so that leaves the door open for other developers to restore, improve and build on those mods. I played LSPDFR before Bejoljo mods and I'm sure Ill be playing (If and when) after his mods. I'm actually surprised with all the talent out there and in this community we don't have a selection of these mods.

The core gameplay of LSPDFR relies on, as it has always relied on, LSPDFR. Plugin devs make plugins to extend that gameplay, and if/when appropriate, the LSPDFR devs incorporate them (eg Frisking, comprehensive backup/patrol configs, to name a couple) into LSPDFR. The devs only have so much time available - according to your signature you've been around since 2015? Did you forget how long we waited between 0.3 and 0.4? Not to mention, there already are alternatives to Bejlolol's plugins, they predated his in fact. If the LSPDFR devs thought the features were worth having as core features, and had the time to do so, they'd already be core features. There may be (hopefully) some that they want as core features but haven't had time to add yet - we'll just have to wait and see when the next update rolls out.

I'm not "panicking", i'm just anticipating. Of course, BejoIjo's plugins are working fine at the moment, but it really feels like they're not going to progress through time. I might be wrong, but it really feels like a retirement, just like Albo did : some rare updates to keep the plugins working and fix a few bugs, but that's all.

Just look at a few months ago : every month, we had a new and exciting feature to discover, it was great. Now, it just feels like this is all over, just because of a sudden impulse regarding "bad reviews". And yes, i was expecting it to continue, considering BejoIjo's emphasis on donations on his website.

I just feel like it's stagnating, and that the community might need a little "push" to create great things again. Sure there are some interesting and original plugins getting updated frequently (like SuperEvents only to cite one), but it feels like something is missing, you know.
