I know, this may sound a bit dramatic, but I can't help but wonder why the enormous potential of this mod seems to be going to waste. LSPDFR was initially released in 2015, which was 6 years ago.. but still, it lacks so many features compared to LCPDFR, of which the last version, version 1.1, was also released 6 years after its initial release. It feels as though LSPDFR has great, very polished foundations, but no "house" to give it a purpose. We have a great characters system, awesome appartements, some very polished animations and police related functions, but.. ultimately, they're all very situational.

LCPDFR had "complex" traffic stops with multiple dialogue options, partners, a hardcore mode, an interesting variety of callouts, lightning control and even an integrated ALPR system! All of this made LCPDFR a very interesting and fun experience!

Sure, you can rely on plugins like BejoIjo's or Rich's (love your stuff man) to fill that empty space but it often means you have to scrap some of those great but limited functions I was mentionning earlier to make it all work, like in BejoIjo's case.

Anyways, I guess my main point is.. isn't it time to change focus and to actually start to create gameplay value on top of those great foundations we have?

And to be clear, I'm not criticizing the frequency of updates nor the investement of the devs in this project, which is more than sufficient in my book (we're all adults, we have more going in our lives than just video games), but the way development seems to focus (in my opinion, as always) on less important features.

Hi, just a little suggestion. It could be nice to have the possibility (through an In Game menu maybe) to disable specific callouts recognized by LSPDFR (including the native "store robberies" callouts). It could allow us, for example, to go on a SWAT patrol without receiving traffic related callouts, and so on. That would really allow us to tailor our experience for each patrol!

I've noticed the lack of any support for introducing GTA V's stock wanted tracks into LSPDFR, so I figured I'd make a dedicated thread since I'm interested in perhaps trying to develop a plugin to allow said music to play (e.g. during pursuits). I'm more also interested in seeing how many other officers would be interested in such a modification, seeing as the music is an integral part of GTA V's gameplay.

A little background info why you can't just slap a .wav or .mp3 in and play that; in GTA V, the wanted tracks are split into up to 8 different 'stems', consisting of a particular instrument or group of instruments, which are then dynamically adjusted depending on several factors; including number of officers in a pursuit, high speed or not, or if on the ground firing at police and/or taking damage.

I'd like to develop this specific system to be able to function with LSPDFR, taking into accordance the same factors that determine the intensity of a track but reversed on the suspect(s). Admittedly, I am a newbie to RAGE Plugin Hook modding, though I will be doing some reading up and practice over the next few days to determine the feasability of such a system.

I'm not 100% of the realism type and I do enjoy having the pursuit music playing, and I'm sure I'm not the only one here. What are your thoughts on this? Would you support it being integrated into LSPDFR by the devs themselves, or do you think it should be left to modders?

Officer 81 reacted to Reddington in What happened to LSPDFR?
Someone already said it, but LSPDFR's focus was "let the community make mods for it".  They didn't add a lot of features by default because "they didn't want to take away from devs who make addons."  The problem is that G17 didn't find a balance between having features in LSPDFR and leaving the door open for devs to make addons.  You can play LSPDFR vanilla with no other plugins (excluding callouts), but do you want to? No, because vanilla LSPDFR gets boring fast due to a lack of features.

I don't expect G17 to add EVERYTHING to LSPDFR, but the basics would still be nice. I love Bejoijo and his mods, but lets be honest here, he shouldn't have to make plugins that add in basic and core features of being a police officer (examples: spike strips, a proper backup system, in depth vehicle and ped searches, etc).  LSPDFR should have enough vanilla content that if we don't want to use a third party plugin, we don't have to. Using mods like Bejoijo's and Rich's should feel optional, not forced because LSPDFR barely has anything.

We are honestly at a point where people can make (or already have) a list of MUST HAVE mods to make LSPDFR more enjoyable, implying that by itself, LSPDFR isn't fun. Instead, these lists should COMPLIMENT LSPDFR's already fun experience.

I totally agree with you on that! The problem is, as I mentionned earlier, that many of the native features of LSPDFR had to be scrapped in order for BejoIjo's plugins to work. Just to mention a few: all the awesome animations G17 made when you placed someone in the back of a car, frisked them, arrested them or held them by the arm, the stats (arrests made, persons frisked, and tickets issued with STP don't register into your stats, which is a damn shame), and so much more..

I don't blame BejoIjo for that.. I just find it very unfortunate that you have to scrap some of this great stuff in order to reach more depth. Oh, and.. G17 showed multiple times that they weren't very supportive of BejoIjo's work, so I don't think that's what they wanted (i.e., his plugins becoming essential and keeping LSPDFR alive).
