Its kind of annoying when people hijack threads but I guess your issue is similar so okay then.

Andrew, your issue can be many things. But before we can narrow down the possibilities, please do the following:

What does it say once it closes?

Pull up your error log in the GTAIV Folder and paste the error here. :D

Mine does the same thing, I recently installed a few mods from a trusted source and when I play the game it gets maybe 15 minutes in or so and the just shuts off...doesn't say anything after, it's like I wasn't playing the game at all. And I can't find the error log in the GTA IV folder.

Before posting a support request please do the following:
  • Make sure you aren't using a crack - We don't support cracks
  • Update GTA IV to 1.0.7.0 (the latest version of the game, or 1.1.2.0 for EFLC) - This sometimes fixes a wide variety of issues
  • Make sure that you run the game as an administrator.
  • Make sure that your GTA IV root folder (and every subdirectory) is not set to "read-only"
  • Ensure that FirstResponse.net.dll is in the SCRIPTS folder and that AdvancedHook.dll is in the GTA IV ROOT folder.
  • Ensure that ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi and Dsound.dll OR Xlive.dll are in the GTA IV ROOT folder
  • Ensure that there is a folder titled 'LCPDFR' in the SCRIPTS folder.
  • Check that all the above files exist, if they do not, reinstall LCPDFR with the automatic installation.
  • Ensure that you are using up to date versions of every LCPDFR dependency and LCPDFR itself.
  • Install these: http://www.microsoft...9f-b21f31ab88b7, http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en
  • Run a diagnostic report (found here: ) which will point any errors it can find and will be used later on if you need to post a topic.

*EDIT* Having the required specs, are you talking about the Minimum, or the Recomended? I have system specs that blow the recomended specs out of the water, and yet it still crashes, it's just the poorly way GTA IV was designed for the PC.

Also are you using any mods such as ELS, ENB, and are your cars ELS cars?
