Also a suggestion: When you're in a pursuit the suspect could make random 180s or drive into other cars to interfere with the police.

Sorry if I look like a dbag for saying this, but why are so many people trying to hijack my thread? This thread is about how the AI operates in a pursuit, not about k-9s or traffic stops. Also another suggestion, AI blocking off streets. The regular alt-b backup can respond to a waypoint, why not do the same with F10 backup so they respond to a point and block off traffic ahead of the pursuit, and when the suspect has passed, they can join in.

I know it is probably a bit too late for this version, but heres my suggestions for pursuits:

-Traffic light at intersections ahead of you will turn green giving you the right of way,ending retarded AI stopping in the middle of the street.

-Cops not spawning at all unless called for backup. This should end units responding or joining a pursuit without lights.

The only idea you mentioned that I wasn't too keen on. The rest, especially ped passengers bailing when car has slowed. And Driver making a run on foot after his car is trashed (chance based) I really like. Also other units stopping to arrest bailed passengers though can see that being tricky.

I don't like the traffic light idea mainly as it travels the wrong way down the realism road.

What does this have to do with suggestions regarding pursuits?

Why did you go to the mod suggestions forum instead of the support forum?

In real life in the US, most emergency vehicles have systems which change lights ahead of them to give them the right of way, and not to mention the AI doesn't respond to sirens unless you are next to them, while in real life most people will stop if they are at an intersection and they see a car running code coming their way.

Ah right.... I thought it was only stuff like firetrucks that could set a section of lights green in a certain direction for a certain amount of time when leaving the firehouse on a call. Done from the firehouse before it leaves. That's what happens in some firestations where I'm from.

Didn't realise the technology was that inteligent to set lights green on the fly when in pursuit.

I would like that feature too bro but it should only enabled when the siren is active, in that way the AI will also give way and they wont be standing still at intersections...!!!!

well tbh I kinda like it how it is but maybe i'm just used to it too. Part of the experience for me anyway is negotiating traffic.

Also I think it would be really hard to make this work.

For example: pursuit in progress, criminal turns off a highway and into built up area with police close behind. First set of lights changes green because the police have sirens going. Criminal turns left, or right or whatever, next set of lights wont even get a chance to go green before the crim and police have passed. Unless they all doing 30 mph which is unlikely. Even if the lights did change quick enough, what about other traffic, they wont have time to stop before you get there.

Only way to have the AI cars stopped nicely at a junction is to set it all in motion 10-20 seconds before you get there.

In other words even setting the lights green will still mean by the time you pass through the AI are still making their turn or whatever it was they were doing. Too many variables such as what way the criminal will turn etc. Things happen too fast.

And if all lights were green and we just sailed through all lights, well there might as well not be any traffic at all on the road.

Just my opinion but it's trying to get through traffic and seeing the criminal screw up and other accidents happening at lights that makes it an andrenaline rush for me.

The system here where I live uses a type of infa-red strobe mounted on the top of the trucks. Someone in a city near me was ticketed for having one installed in his car,a few years ago
